Four separate stacks with this bookcase-a graduated unit with 3 different sizes. Note the top unit has a leaded glass door. Original labels on the interior and nice leopard bands on the sides. Super finish which is smooth and even. The interior height of the units is 13.5. 11.5, and two which are 9.5. The overall size of the piece is 34 wide, 12 deep, and 57.5 high. I don't think you will find a nicer four stack unit. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. I have spent endless hours locating a source for these knobs. This auction is for 2(two) AGED/BURNISHED) base knobs. Knob width at the TOP DIAMETER is 1 3/16" TOTAL KNOB HEIGHT is 7/8" BASE WIDTH IS 1/2" These are the correct size and profile for the drawer bases for Globe Wernicke® and Macey stack units(although they work great for Gunn, Lundstrum, Weis, Danner and others as well) There were at least 8 different styles of knobs. This style was the most prominent and the best made of the 4 cast versions. It is made of polished brass and then aged to match your original knobs. The aging and burnish process takes a 5 step process and can be hazardous to perform. The aging/burnishing is done at essentially cost. See our ad for Aging Solution. If you want the knobs polished it is an additional please see the other ad. This is a really nice quartersawn oak barrister bookcase. Sometimes called a lawyers bookcase or stacked bookcase. This piece was manufactured by the GLOBE WERNICKE Company of Cincinnati. They were competitors of Macey and others. Four separate stacks with this bookcase-a graduated unit with 3 different sizes. Note the top unit has a leaded glass door. Original labels on the interior and nice leopard bands on the sides. Super finish which is smooth and even. The interior height of the units is 13.5. 11.5, and two which are 9.5. The overall size of the piece is 34 wide, 12 deep, and 57.5 high. I don't think you will find a nicer four stack unit. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. Measures about 34" on the underside between the bands and about 10 1/2" from the back to the beginning of the overhang part, these we believe are fairly standard size, not sure which measurements are important so please let us know what you may need checked, we will not take a return if it does not fit and we were not asked. Top Cap For Globe Wernicke Sectional Stacking Barrister Metal Bookcase
You are buying the top cap ONLY for the sectional bookcase you see in the pictures. I repeat-just the top cap. The base and 4 sections are listed in other sales. The top cap is 2 1/4" tall and 33" wide by 13" deep. It fits over the top of a bookcase that has an indented top of 31 9/16" wide by 12 1/8" deep. The rest of the description describes the rest of the bookcase which you might need to see if this fits yours.These never had doors and are slightly taller than the ones that you find with doors. Size is just over 33" wide by 13" deep by 17 1/8" tall to the very top. The section that shows when stacked is 16 7/8" tall. The very top of the cabinet is a little smaller so that the base of the next section can lock into it. The smaller section at the very top is 31 9/16" wide by 12 1/8" ... moredeep. I have 4 of these cabinets that make up the larger stack. You are buying one with the chance to buy additional if you are the first buyer. If you buy more than one you need to buy one-pay for it-then buy the next-pay-and so on. I cannot combine shipping and ebay will combine it by weight and their combined invoice will be wrong. As you see the total structure it stands 80" counting the top cap and bottom base. There is lots of wear and scratching/loss to the paint and they could use cleaned up better.Some have writing and old tape on them. One of the sections has 2 holes drilled in the right side that you can see in a picture. The one picture shows the top inside of the cabinet. The only piece that is signed is the top cap. There is rust on the base but not much rust on anything else. The cabinets weigh 32 lbs each before packing and will incur even more dimensional weight by the shippers due to their size. Up for sale is this barrister bookcase base and top. There is no label so I don't know the precise maker. The base is missing its bottom panel. There is some veneer loss/damage to the top along with other wear and tear, so please know that these are a refinishing project. The top measures about 34" across and 12" wide including the lip on the very top. The base is about 12 1/2" wide including the lip at the very bottom, and 34" across. Vintage Antique Gunn Solid Oak Barrister Bookcase Top. This is a Vintage or Antique Barrister Bookcase Top. Made of Solid Oak Wood. The Top has a Paper Label on the Back. I believe it is a Gunn Label but it is Hard to Read. The Top measures 34-1/4" x 14" x 3-1/2" overall. Inside Lip measures 10-7/8" x 33-1/2" center metal end pieces) The Top does need Refinishing if Desired. There are 2 Holes Drilled through Back Side. Probably Mounted to Wall at One Time. Globe Wernicke 5 Stack Barrister Lawyer Bookcase + Base & Top
Here’s a 5 stack Globe- Wernicke barrister bookcase in beautifully figured quarter sawn oak. It’s complete with top and base. These are older turn of the century bookcases. The unit measures 69 7/8” high. 34” wide, and 11” deep. The labels read, from top to bottom: D 10 ¼-299, 108-299, 110-299, D10 ¼-299, D10 ¼-299. All units measure 11 ½” inside, top to bottom except 108-299 which measures 9 5/8” These are from my Mother’s estate and are in very good condition-probably close to 100 years old so obviously there may be a minor scuff or nick—but not many. All have the original wavy glass and brass knobs. Metal sidebands are naturally worn. The wood has beautiful patina and lovely grain pattern. These are pickup only at my home in Fenton, Michigan 48430. I also have 11 additional units in various sizes that are negotiable ... moreif the buyer wishes more. One unit is stickered D-10-1/4 and Grade 598. One taller unit is stickered 11-1/2 398-1/2 and the bottom unit is stickered 11-1/2. 598-1/2. It has a drawer on the bottom and four units that are two different heights. Not sure what kind of wood it is and there is an issue with the varnish on the side. All the glass doors work well and there is nothing at all structurally wrong with any of the parts. It is 11" deep and 34" wide. It is 61-1/2" tall and a great old piece of furniture. Each side for the dowel rods is split and missing some wood. Still functions properly. I am not going to further mess with it but it could be repaired if you prefer but not necessary. Fred Macey "D" Quartered Golden Oak Stacking Barrister Bookcase Beaded Top
This is a ca. 1900 ogee quartered oak Fred Macey"D" Stacking Bookcase Top. It has the beaded trim! These are very hard to find and made only by the Fred Macey Co. from 1900 to about 1905. It has a golden oak finish. Measuring 12" Deep, 34" Wide, and 3" tall. The Macey stamp under the section reads"Macey Sectional Bookcase 4B" Its in overall very good condition with original finish. Condition: The finish appears a little"dry" on the sides(lost it's luster) And has a couple of the usual blemishes on the top. Note: in my last photo there is a small sliver of the inside board that is chipped. Right where one of the nails that secures the band is. I have the nail further secured by a tack so it does not fall out when the top is lifted off. The band itself is still very secure and not loose, still ... moreheld on tightly by the other three nails. All the hardware is original including the metal strip on the back that keeps the back plywood from loosing and rests snuggly on the bookcase section below. Shipping: Pick up or easily shipped for a flat shipping cost of $25 to the Lower 48. I do not ship these outside of the Lower 48 states and no international shipping. This top matches to the other three sections I have listed.

Rare GLOBE WERNICKE Sectional File Bookcase TOP 17 3/8" X 41 1/2" Barrister
Offered here is a Globe Wernicke Sectional File top. The metal band measures 17 3/8"long. Overall the top measures 18" x 41 1/2" The top has been stained and then refinished with 7 coats of Orange and Blonde shellac, 2 coats applied with brush and 5 additional applied with pad in a french polishing technique. It has some minor flaws but overall is in excellent condition and is ready to use. Please ask any questions before bidding.

GLOBE WERNICKE Sectional Bookcase TOP Mahogany # 841 Grade 3025 1/2 BARRISTER
Very Difficult for me to photograph.So please take a good look at what I've been able to provide.Basically a VERY STURDY and Completely Structurally Sound Piece.But it being the top people put things on it and it shows the results with some light scratching and wear and most notably what I believe people refer to as water marks,maybe there was a plant set on top and a little liquid spilled over.on the right a spot about 3" by 3 1/2" and just in back of it a spot which varies 1 1/2" to 2" wide by about 17"The spots are not good but they are not terrible either and may very well polish out,this is not in my realm of knowledge and felt it better left untouched by me.ALSO depending on how high you're building your bookcase it may not really matter anyway if it is a Tall Bookcase and out of sight.FRONT and SIDES ... moreare in Nice Decent Presentable Shape.
