Vintage but probably antique. Child's Oak wooden chair with arms. It is 23" tall and 14" wide. The sitting area is 12" across and 10" deep. It is in very good vintage condition. I don't see any areas that looks like it was repaired. No cracks in the wood. It comes from a collector's estate and he lived in Texas all his life. That's all I know about it. antique vintage wicker set -2 rockers & arm chair original finish shabby chic
This listing is for a 3-piece set of 2 matching“his and her” wicker rockers and 1 arm chair that are probably from the 1930’s or 40’s. These pieces feature a high back. Wrap around form fitting arms and spring construction with newer foam cushions( a soft floral in multi tones of jade green, cocoa brown, light grey, tan and white) for comfortable seating. The cushions were in plastic bags so they are very clean. The springs are original and still functional but could be re-tied if cushions were not being used(see photos to evaluate their condition) The finish is a dark stain or varnish that appears to be original and has crazed over the years. It is worn off in places but that only adds to the patina and charm of these vintage pieces. They have been given a light cleaning and the finish remained intact- I have rubbed my hand over them and ... moredetect no flaking or peeling. If a gloss or sheen is desired, they could be given a coat of spray varnish or urethane. The wicker is in good condition on the arm chair and the smaller of the two rockerswith the exception of one broken piece of lattice on each- arm chair: bottom right front near leg, small rocker: back lower right(not seen when cushion is in place) Some of the vertical pieces are missing on the back of the larger rocker(see photos# 9& 10) and the front leg wraps on the arm chair- a small piece remains and it could be glued or removed. These repairs could be completed by someone who is handy. Another option would be back cushions. The runners of the rockers, ball-footed legs of the arm chair, and all support pieces are sound and free from cracks or breaks and will provide sturdy support. Like any gently used vintage item, they are not perfect and show light wear but they are comfortable and in essentially good condition with only minor signs of age as noted. This is a really GORGEOUS vintage antique white wood with gold French Louis XV style upholstered arm chair with an upholstered back! Purchased at an estate sale they said it was probably from the 1950's or 60's. This is a WONDERFUL chair made in the French style. It has an"H" base with a medallion in the center with gold and scalloped arms. The material is BEAUTIFUL and the print is vertical green stripes with embroidered light reddish flowers. Green stems and leaves. Light yellow vertical lines as well. I don't know whether they call this fabric brocade or brocatelle or what but it is really LOVELY! I also don't know what the wood is other than antique hardwood with antique white with GORGEOUS gold. The wood is carved all around the legs and in the back of them too. Distinctive and long CABRIOLE legs with carvings ... morewith gold! The chair is very solid and sturdy. The arms. Seat and back rest are cushioned so this is very comfortable. The chair measures 44 1/4” tall at the top of the crest, measures 24” from the wall to front leg. The seat measures 18" by 19" It is about 17 1/2” from the floor to the seat top. The chair is structurally VERY strong and ready for home or office use. Condition is really good for a chair this old or any chair! There is a little area 3/8" by almost 1/4" that looks like someone may have pulled the material with a ring they had on but it is small and not really noticeable. Please see last photo for it. There is almost no wear on the fabric of the main part of the chair and only some wear on the material on the arms and the little pull in one small place on the back. The wood is good too with just a little of the gold missing here and there but not bad too. Some wear to the gold where you would rest your hands on the arms. This chair is truly unique in design. It is a very dark brown wood possibly walnut but I am not sure from the early 1900's is my guess. It is scrolled at the top sides with the arms scrolling down to meet the seat. The upholstery is berry rose color velvet with gold tacks front and back looks to have been reupholstered. I am not good at recognizing wood yet but what ever it is it's stunning. Very deep grain when polished. Pearl like luster. The seat pad has been changed with leather and brass tacks. Other then that this looks to be a pure wood only chair. All the joints are dolled. The chairs back measures 39" high and is 18.5" wide. The seat area is 19" x 17" and measures 18" from the ground.
