It has the metal strappings on its sides. Two sections are 10 inch and two are 12 inch. The glass doors open and close properly. It has the Macey's logo on one of the sections. Pair Antique Globe Wernicke Barrister Lawyers Quartersawn Oak Bookcases
Lovely pair of early 1900 barrister bookcases. Both are 72 inches tall. 34 inches wide and 9 1/2 inches deep. Both are grade 299 solid quartersawn oak and both have a desireable draw in the base. Both have bands and brass knobs on all sections and antique wavy glass. One top has extensive damage to it but cannot be seen because it is so tall. I took a photo of it. It could use to have the top part replaced but I left it alone. Backs are in good condition. All sections are labeled with the Globe wernicke labels. A great addition for a library or office. Paypal. Antique Globe Wernicke 6-Stack 299 Grade Oak Stacking Lawyers Barrister Bookcase
Up for bid is a wonderful 6-stack Globe Wernicke lawyers or barristers bookcase made of quartersawn oak. All sections are the very desirable Grade 299(quarter sawn/tiger oak with the medium finish) Has the very desirable ogee(curved) top and bottom. All sections are size D-10 1/4. Bookcase is ALL ORIGINAL. Original finish. Original wavy glass, original knobs on the doors. Bookcase is ALL COMPLETE. All labels are present and intact. All glass is present(no cracks or breaks) All felt along the tops of the doors is complete and intact. All scissors mechanisms are present. All acid-etched side bands are correct and present. I rescued over 20 sections from a storage room of an old Chicago school library, and these 6 sections were in the best condition. Condition of the sections is way above average for their age. After 100 years the finish on ... morethese cases has usually"alligatored" Not here. Although there are the usual scratches and chips in the finish, which is to be expected(there is a rub of white paint on the right side of one section shown in the photos) the outside finish is overall extremely smooth with a nice gloss. The very top has the most wear and scratches as the librarians slid and stacked items on top of the cases. There is also the reside from 2 old pieces of cellophane tape on the front of the top. I can find no delamination of the back panels, nor any bubbling of the veneer on the very top. Being in a library for so many years has preserved them nicely. Overall size of the bookcase is 84" tall x 34" wide x 12" deep. If you need more photos. Or have additional questions, please email me. Antique Oak 6 Stack Lawyers Bookcase original finish
You are bidding on a Oak 6 stack lawyers cabinet with top and base. This is in original finish and the finish is worn, all original glass, missing 3 of the brass knobs for the doors, the back side of a couple of the sections the outer layer of wood is missing, this is not visible when against the wall, One door unit does not slide well, something with the roller on the right side. Unit measures 79 3/4 inches high and 34 inches wide and 11 1/2 inches deep. Nice old piece, just needs a home. This is for pick up only, we are located in Hermann, Mo.
