Here is an absolutely delightful find. a set of six heavy carved oak chairs with shell. Leaves and other carvings including column front legs and rush bottom seats, imported through Edinburgh, Scotland and in a Henry II style, these most probably were manufactured there in Scotland or perhaps England in the early to mid-twentieth century. I have noted in my description of condition above that three of the rush bottom seats on this set is broken through, and simply replaced at present with a wood board underneath the seat cushion. I have taken this into account and am selling these chairs"as is" for a great price for someone looking to invest a little love into bringing them back to their full glory by replacing the seats. These side dining chairs stand 37 inches tall and measure 17 inches wide by 16 1/2 inches front to back. The ... moreseat height is 18 inches and the seats themselves are 17 1/2 inches wide tapering to 15 1/2 inches wide across the back and 15 1/2 inches deep. Front to back. Set has been in the family since new- we believe approximately 1900 but could be 1890-1910(based on consultation with local antique restoration professional) Set is authentic antique with beautiful wood trim detail on edge of table. Table. 5 Chairs& Extension Leaves. All in non-restored condition so as not to harm/damage furniture. Would love to keep in family- but no longer have space to store. Set of 6 Spanish Carved Oak& Leather 1930 Antique Dining Chairs. Hand crafted in Spain about 1930. A set of six hand carved oak dining chairs have leather upholstery. The original finish is very well preserved on the tight and strong frames. Waxed and buffed. Only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain their warm patina. Backs are original thick shaded saddle leather with brass nailhead trim. Seats are soft and supple leather, reupholstered in the last 25 years. SET 6 ANTIQUE ENGLISH GOTHIC STYLE HEAVY CARVED OAK DINING CHAIRS NORTH WIND
Here is a fabulous group of six antique Gothic style heavy carved walnut chairs with gorgeous barley twist columns and stretchers. Upholstered seats and seat back panels front and back, and a beautifully carved North Wind face across the top of the back. There are five side dining chairs and one over size arm chair, for the head of the table. I've included a number of photographs in an attempt to accurately represent the design, quality, construction and condition of this wonderful late 19th-early 20th century English oak chairs. A set like this especially in such lovely condition is a rare find. The large arm chair stands 48 1/2 inches tall and measures 24 inches wide by 22 inches front to back. It has a seat height of 18 inches and the seat itself is 23 inches wide and 20 inches front to back. With 19 inches clearance between the two ... morearms. The five arm side chairs each measure 45 1/2 inches tall and measure 18 inches wide by 20 inches front to back. They too have a seat height of 18 inches and their seats are 18 inches wide and 19 inches deep, front to back. All six chairs appear to have the original casters on the front two legs as per their original design. As addressed in my detailed description of condition above, these chairs are all a bit loose and in need of tightening but this work gluing them tight again would be best done when they are apart to be reupholstered by the new owner. Otherwise, except for the one barley twist column that needs a glue repair, they are otherwise in very nice"respectfully used" condition as shown. Here is a fabulous group of four beautifully carved barley twist oak chairs. Manufactured somewhere in England or Scotland in the early to mid-twentieth century and recently imported from the UK through Edinburgh, Scotland. They are unmarked but are sturdy, tight and very well constructed as shown in my close up photographs and would also be quite easy to reupholster or change out the seat covering.
