Nice black color with gold metal accent(believe to be brass) Hard shell vulcanzied fiber covering and metal reinforced edges. Corners and clasps. Front lock works and comes with key(Long Lock Co) Two clasp hardware work. Lid opens and closes easily. Leather handles present. Top badge marked"U.S. Trunk Co- Fall River, Mass" Measures 40" long x 23" deep x 14" tall. Structurally in great condition. And sits flush and flat. There are no weak points. Metal shows finish wear. Handsome Antique Excelsior LEATHER Wardrobe TRUNK MASONIC CHEST MILITARY? OLD
This is a great piece of American history. The trunk or suitcase or whatever you prefer to call it is leather. It obviously belonged to a Freemason out of Cleveland. Ohio. I tried to look him up but to date I haven't found him. It appears to be very old and is intact except there is no key. Good luck, I hope you win!

THIS TRUNK COULD BE USED AS A STORAGE TRUNK OR COULD BE CONVERTED INTO A NICE COFFEE TABLE. Would make a great addition to any home. The trunk measures 30 ½" wide x 15 ½“ deep x 12” tall. There is surface wear that makes for a nice patina. Clasps work great. Center lock does not work. Inside is stained and beginning to peel, however is all original.
