It is made of quartered oak with an antique oak finish and brass hardware. ... moreThe gold"Globe" stenciling still remains on the top of the unit. The dimentions are 18' deep. 17.5 wide and 31.5' tall. It is fully functional and the file cabinet unit and the card catalog drawers work as intended with the original hardware remaining. Condition: Good original condition with the usual age related scratches and blemishes to the finish. There is dark staining and a little rippling to the veneer on the top. Most of the finish is definately originial. But I'm really not sure if the sides of the file cabinet unit have been refinished at some point. They have the same type of wear as the rest of the unit, but are noticibly lighter than the patina on the rest of the pieces. The brass side bands have oxidation on parts of them. Shipping: Good news.I have all the packing materials and therefore will not charge a wrapping fee. Bad news.this is a heavy piece. About 60 lbs all packaged up so will be expensive to ship. The bottom board measures approxiamtely 32-1/2" X 10-1/4" It is about 3/4" thick, also has metal brackets on sides that are 12-1/4" long. The sides are about 13-1/4" X 121/4" X 3/4" Original finish, does have wear. Parts will be shipped apart. NO Door. Please check out the pictures they are the best description. Antique GOLDEN OAK GUNN BARRISTER BOOKCASE with Drawer Antique Oak Barrister Bookcase A beautiful ca. 1900 antique golden oak 3 section barrister bookcase with retractable wood framed glass doors and a bottom drawer of dovetail construction with original brass pulls. It stands 51& 1/4” tall to the top of the back. 34& 1/4” wide and 12” deep. The two upper sections measure 11” tall and the bottom section is 9” tall. It weighs 90 lbs. One back panel is stamped by the manufacturer. Gunn, and reads“Gunn Sectional Bookcase, Pat’d. Dec. 5, 1899, Jan. 1, 1901, Dunn Furniture Co. Grand Rapids, Michigan. The bookcase is a knock down unit and completely assembles and disassembles easily and assembly will be required. The listing includes both sides/ends(12 ¼” deep and 15 ¼” high& they need refinishing) with their metal hardware for the door to slide on. The back board with part of the Gunn decal, the base shelf, and the two metal brackets that hold everything together. The section is in pretty good condition but the finish is shot. Hi. This is a lovely antique quarter sawn oak Barrister Bookcase. Professionally restored keeping in mind the integrity of the piece. No Mfg. Label but Gunn Furniture Company was best known for using the side slide mechanism(which this one has) for the doors rather than the scissor type. Beautiful quarter sawn oak case with 3 stacks and original wavy glass. The top 2 cases are 11 inches high able to hold books 8 1/2 inches high. The bottom case is larger at 15 inches high and able to hold books 13 1/2 inches tall. The case together measures 34 1/4 inches wide and 14 1/2 inches deep including curved over hang top and bottom. Note: A kind. Knowledgeable& thoughtful eBayer just informed me this set is made by"Gunn" for the Grand Rapids Furniture Company Michigan. or. Possible the"Grand Rapids Furniture Co. was a"trade association" label. Each is marked"8D on the back of each. The base measures 34-3/4" by 12-3/8" and is 5-5/8" high. The second piece(which I presume is the top) measures the same as the base. but is 3-3/4" high. They are in very good sturdy condition and the patina isn't bad. one could restore each or sand and apply a similar stain. Drop a line with any inquiries.

This is an absolutely fantastic treasure! Made by Gunn. It features quartersawn oak, all original wavy glass in the doors and breaks down into 22 individual pieces. Two of the back pieces are replacements, a piece of trim needs to be repaired as pictured, and there is some moisture damage from where we had it sitting on the concrete pad in our garage. This well-loved and well-traveled stacking bookcase is perfect for the person who loves this look. But doesn't have several hundred dollars or more to invest. Gunn Antique Oak Barrister Bookcase with Leaded Glass and Secretary
A very beautiful and useful stacking seven piece(includes top and base) sectional bookcase manufactured by Gunn. The oak bookcase has a mahogany finish. Measures 35” wide, 12” deep, and 69 ¾” tall. It features 2 leaded glass sections with original glass. It also has a fold-down secretary with pigeonholes, all original pieces in tact, with working lock& key. There is a large book section and a drawer section. This bookcase is original to my family. Good condition. Lead Glass all original. Secretary has all working parts including original lock& key. The backing pieces have some warping. The back left leg has some surface damage. Please refer to photos. This piece can be fully restored to its original beauty.

Original Bookcase Knob This knob was removed from a Gunn barrister bookcase. The knob pictured is the knob you will receive. This is the larger size Gunn used. Knob is just like it was removed and has not been cleaned. I know it's an original because I am the person who removed it from the bookcase. Dimensions: 3/4" diameter top. 3/8" diameter base. The bottom shelf is missing it's glass other than that all is there. I kept my dvds on the bottom shelf and it made much easier to take them out if glass wasn't there. Later when moving the glass was broke. All other pieces are in tack and original to my knowledge. I say that because it's the old style wavy glass. So most likely original. We are pleased to offer to the market this great antique barrister bookcase. This ca. 1901 case bears the Gunn Mfg. Co. tag with a mfg date of 1901. Constructed from tiger oak this piece is solid and in amazing condition for the age. The doors have the original glass and the finish is also original on this. This measures 34 1/8" wide x 14 1/8" deep x 55.5" high. The top three sections are 8.75" high inside and the bottom section is 10.75" high inside. These have a book depth of 10.5" There are a couple of chips in the veneer on the back sections and there is some light bubbling to the finish on the top as well as paint speckles on the top. There are some age appropriate scratches as well. This is being sold as a local pickup only. If you would like to make arrangements on your own to have this shipped. Antique GUNN oak dark woodtone,lawyer barrister bookcase.1900-1950-5 stacks.
This 5 stacks plus bottom and crown bookcase made by GUNN has some wear from age and use.Small pieces of wood are missing as seen in the pic.but easy to repair,it needs minimum fixing and polishing,2 back boards have been replaced.It is marked in the crown Rapid City,one section is marked GUNN,The doors need to be oiled. Antique/Vintage 4 piece stackable bookcase bookshelves by Gunn -Project bookcase
This book case it stamped in two sections that it was made by Gunn. Also. On the back of the top piece is a paper label, stating trademark in Grand Rapids Michigan. This bookcase has cast iron metal pieces in between each section. This bookcase overall is in good condition. I am calling it a project because the two bottom glass on the door is cracked. Both of the bottom sections are bigger than the top two. Also there is light finish defects such as on the shelves& the legs. Most people would probably refinish it.
