This is a superb solid mahogany vanity dressing table made in England circa 1900. To the base it has a knee hole or some times in England years ago they used to let the dog sleep in there.They called it a dog kennel, it has the original cut glass handle. The top has the original beveled mirror. And to either side there are two small trinket drawers for jewelry etc. Condition is very good. The top comes of the base so its easy to transport. Antique 1916 Mahogany Dresser / Dressing Table / Vanity with Mirror
THIS ITEM IS FOR LOCAL PICKUP IN IRWIN. PA 15642 ONLY. NO SHIPPING. Antique vanity/ dresser/ dressing table with mirror. The finish is a dark brown. As shown in the pictures. The facing is missing in a couple places. The mirror has two side mirrors that fold in and out. It has 5 drawers; each drawer has a lock mechanism that looks like it accepts the old style skeleton keys, but I don't have a key for it. The size is about 20 inches deep, 44 inches wide, and 59 inches high. Although I can't tell what they mean, there are several markings on it. Stamped into the wood on the back are the numbers 4474 and 57. 4474 seems like it was important to the manufacturer, because it is in 3 separate places. The mirror is very delicately attached to the dresser. I took the wooden back panel off the mirror to see how it was attached and figure out ... morehow to make it more sturdy, and discovered that the back of the mirror is stenciled with the date June 13, 1916 and an"N" and a"P" which may be the mirror manufacturer's logo. On the inside of the wooden back panel are the words"4474 Mahogany" hand written in cursive pencil. The number"48-88" is stenciled inside the back panel also. 4474 Mahogany Toilet" is also hand written in pencil inside one of the left hand drawers, along with what looks to be the"48-88" again. I looked online but couldn't find information on what these numbers mean or where the vanity came from(or how much it's really worth) I also don't know if"Mahogany" is meant to be the color of the finish, or the type of wood it's made of. The mirror doesn't come off for transportation. It is attached only with 4 screws through the wood mirror frame into the desk part. Which is why the center mirror rocks back and forth a little when the vanity is moved. It could be braced more securely but I don't want to put more screws into it, the new owner can do that. This is an Antique Vintage Wood Dressing Table 1 Drawer Vanity with Mirror. The Vanity is well made with lots of details to the wood work with accent finials and a curved edge lower shelf. The drawer is dovetailed. There is also gorgeous hardware detail through out(see photos) The metal beading is present on the lower shelf. And at the top of the mirror. It is missing from the lower half of the mirror. The drawer has a lock mechanism, but no ket is present. The wood in a hardwood, maybe cherry. Please note that the finish on one side is lighter than the other. The previous owner has this in a corner, so maybe they did not finish that side. A very beautiful piece! This piece is structurally sound and would be great in any home with a little bit of TLC. The base is burl walnut, with walnut carved cabriole legs, contoured front, and four front outside drawers and one reverse center drawer, all retaining their original Chippendale style hardware. This dressing table had. At one time, a top with a mirror. This is no longer present and the holes where this would have been attached have been expertly filled. Each of the four drawers is constructed with hand cut dovetails. Making them quite strong. They slide quite well on their wooden runners. Round, brass ring pulls adorn each drawer and really complete the look of the whole dresser. Finally, the four tapered legs end in casters which have been replaced at some point in the dresser’s life. Besides a few old wear marks to the top and front. And one minor age separation on the lower top section, this Edwardian dressing table is in very good condition. It is sturdy and will last for generations to come. Gorgeous old dressing table and mirror. Guessing from 1930s.oak or maple. Been in my family for years. And was in another family for years before that. I simply have no room for it. But would keep it if I did! Antique vanity/dressing table. Child's size? Measures approx. 5' tall(to the top of the mirror. 4'3" wide, 18" deep. In need of some love and a refinishing. The finish appears to have already been removed some years ago or it is just that worn. I don't know for sure though. Peeling and chipped veneer in many places. Is missing the little brackets that hold the mirror to the wood backing. Also missing a piece of glass for the top center(between the drawers) Both of those items are easily replaced. Someone wrote their name on the mirror, but it does seem to come off easily when scraped, so it is not etched in there. The mirror alone on this piece is worth $40.00. Hello and welcome to my auction. After my parents passed away I inherited the dressing table with tri-fold mirror pictured. Not real sure how old it is but I had the dressing table when I was a small chld. now a senior citizen) I do remember when I was a teenager my mother and aunt refinished it to this darker color. I was young and don't even know what kind of wood it is. It is a hard type wood and not pine. It has 2 drawers on each side and a little shelf in between. There are little rolling casters so it can be moved easily. The mirror is a tri fold mirror which looks like it has some haze to it. The mirrors could be replaced for not too much money. I considered taking this table apart and just using the sides with drawers as a night stand for a small bedroom. Antique Mahogany Dressing Table and Matching Chair (REDUCED)
I bought this beautiful vanity set for my wife several Christmases ago and now that she has passed I have no need for it. It was refinished and re-glued and it retains all the original hardware. The chair was also re-glued and refinished and a new cane seat. There are no flaws with either of these pieces and the little lady will be thrilled to own it. KIDNEY SHAPED VANITY TABLE_ This kidney shaped vanity table has lathe turned legs and features swing-out arms on either side of the center drawer. A fabric skirt is meant to be attached to the table and arms. Table measures 30" tall. The top surface measures 34 1/2" x 17 3/4" I used this vanity for many years but no longer need it. It has a nice finish and has minor vintage imperfections. Table could also be used as a small desk. It's a great little piece of furniture. Antique Dressing Table Vanity or Dresser ca.1940's
1940's era dressing table or vanity, What little I know about this(age and type) I learned from the owner of a consignment shop that specializes in antique furniture. Drawers are dovetailed and fronts appear to be a laminate. The three panel mirrors are in good shape aside from chipping as shown in picture#5. Has various nicks and scratches and the finial at the top is cracked and has apparently come off and be reattached with a single screw.
