$375.00 Shipping Condition: Used Location: Scranton, United States This 2 section barrister bookcase has been refinished on the outside maybe 20 years ago and painted on the inside and on the back in a blue/grey sort ... moreof color. Probably done at the same time as the finish. The spots that might have revealed the maker name have paint on them so I am selling it as maker unknown. In addition to the 2 sections, it comes with the original top or crown, and a base with drawer. It also features metal side straps between each section and the scissor mechanism for the doors. No problems with the 2 glass doors. In fact, I see no problems at all. With the square straight legs it is very mission looking and being from about 100 years ago, I think we can safely call it authentic mission furniture in every way except the finish, although a lot of mission furniture WAS this color when it was new. The joints are all tight and all sections lock together easily and correctly. While only a 2 stack, it is a big 2 stack with each section able to take books as much as 13 1/2 inches tall. The over all measurement are 34 inches wide as most of these are, and with base and crown a total of 45 inches tall. It is a full 14 inches deep from knobs to back. I am listing this as local pick up only. BUT there are shipping/delivery options for you to chose from. RI delivery is $50 MA or CT. $100 If you are beyond those states. I would still deliver to most of the rest of New England, all of NJ, parts of PA that are East of Harrisburg and parts of NY that are East of Binghamton for $200. For any distance greater than that. and maybe some of those) You are welcome and encouraged to arrange and pay for your own packing and shipping. These can travel via UPS or FEDEX but do require extreme care in packing to insure safe delivery. I am happy to take it to A+ Pack& Ship in North Kingstown RI for FREE. Knob width at the TOP DIAMETER is 1 3/16" TOTAL KNOB HEIGHT is 7/8" BASE WIDTH IS 1/2" These are the correct size and profile for the drawer bases for Globe Wernicke® and Macey stack units(although they work great for Gunn, Lundstrum, Weis, Danner and others as well) There were at least 8 different styles of knobs. This style was the most prominent and the best made of the 4 cast versions. It is made of polished brass and then aged to match your original knobs. The aging and burnish process takes a 5 step process and can be hazardous to perform. The aging/burnishing is done at essentially cost. See our ad for Aging Solution. 4 Matching Lundstrom 5 Section Barrister Stacking Mahogany Bookcases Drawers
Before moving to my new house. I had a very tiny house, and needed to find a way to maximize my storage possibilities. Thats when I found out about Barrister style bookcases. And after researching some more, settled on the Lundstrom brand, as I liked its simplistic design. I traveled far and wide for years. Finally amassing these four bookcases, plus other Lundstroms I've still to list. Now with a bigger house. I find no more need to keep them, and am hoping someone with an eye for antiques and a need for plenty of book storage might need them. The top and bottom sections I have on these are less common than most of the Lundstroms you'll see listed here on Ebay. And for the 12 years I've searched for these I've only seen a pair listed maybe once or twice. But never have I seen a set of 4. I know the pictures are not the greatest. ... moreBut with all my other furniture and my low ceilings upstairs I had to set them up in my living room area which is already full of other furniture. They are in pretty good shape. A few(not many) have some paint splatter on the back sides(from paintint the walls of the room that they were in) of them from previous owners who should have never picked up a paint brush if that's how they painted. Some(not many) have a small piece(and I mean small) or 2 of the mahogany laminate missing on the sides. And those ones I bury in the middle so you dont even see the sides. I had all 4 of these next to each other on one wall. All are unrestored as far as I can tell and in very nice usable shape. They could use a good cleaning and some wax and they'll look great for another 100 years. They are located in Glen Gardner NJ. Which is exit 17 off of Rt 78.
