ANTIQUE TOLEDO UHL TALL INDUSTRIAL DRAFTING CHAIR STOOL 1930-1940's
This Antique office drafting chair is one I know the full history of. It came from Cottrell's Printing Press Manufacturers in Pawcatuck, Ct. Made by Toledo Metal Furniture Co. UHL Steel USA, it's age is est. 1930-1940. I purchased this chair in 1969 when Cottrell's was upgrading furniture they sold these to employees. The chair, stool is very comfortable as people sat in them for 8 hrs or more a day. When I bought the chair it was close to 35 years old and I have had it for 44 yrs. This was built for an industrial machine shop setting, it is fully adjustable from 28" low setting to 32 1/2" high setting as well as the back rest being adjustable, it swivels has a curved seat made of walnut veneer 16" x 14" the back is 6" x 13" also in walnut veneer. A comfortable foot rest at 12 1/2" high is made ... moreof metal. The entire base is metal with a bit of surface rust on it, otherwise the chair is in excellent condition for it's age. 1940's Steelcase Metal Office Furnitue Co. Adjustable Office/Drafting Chair
This old Steelcase task/office/drafting chair is in fansastic condition. As the original vinyl( is in near mint condition and the brown paint paint looks so sharp on most of the chair. There is some wear to the paint in some areas, mostlu on top of the bent legs, but also a little on the backrest and the backrest frame(see pic's) There had been some tape on the backrest which has been removed, but the mastic is still there and could be removed(I was unsure what to use) The original casters have a stamp on them saying they were patended 9/42 and they appear to be made of stainless steel, although there is some pitting and surface rust(pic's) It looks like there are 3 spotw where the vinyl has been riveted to the metal seat base plate. Vintage Teeter Tot Rocking Bouncing Child's Chair in excellent condition. My grandchildren both used this and loved it. It rocks back and forth like a normal rocking chair and also bounces up and down. When I bought this there was not a bar going across the seat but in other pictures of the Teeter Tot there is a bar going across the seat. Normal wear and tear of a child using this rocker, scratches, especially on the ends of rocker legs. But overall in great condition. Measures: 32 inches in length, 19 inches tall, and 17 inches in the front. Made by The Delphos Bending Co. Patent Des. 171458 This great looking vintage bouncy baby seat was made by Delphos Bending Company of Delphus, Ohio somewhere in the late 1940's. The company first started making baby furniture in 1934 and introduced the Delphos Teetertot Shoofly in 1945. By the ... moretime the 1954 catalog came out, the Teetertot Shoofly was pictured as having a duck decal on the seat. The company did not stamp any dates on any of their furniture to give an accurate year of manufacture. There are some stains My Dad used this chair to work with his hobby of processing and developing film of pictures he took. Photography was his hobby in the 1940's and 50's. This Vintage Storkline Child's Rocking Chair has been in my family for 65 years. It has nice decals on the back rail in pink and blue of a rocking horse. The music box does not work however the chair is clean the finish is good with some wear on arms. I believe it is maple solid wood. No repairs have been made. Child's Chair Vintage Mexican Rush Seat Hand-Painted Made in Mexico Wood 1940's
For your consideration. This wonderful old Mexican child's chair is hand-made and hand-painted and has a rush seat. This is 17.75" tall to top of back, 9.5" depth X 12" wide at the front. The seat is 8.25" from the floor. As you can see this has paint loss and a small missing piece of wood at the top of the front left leg. This is made of crude wood so it is rough and very charming this way. It is stamped Made in Mexico twice on the back. The rush seat has a little fraying and is a l;ittle loose around the top of the right front leg, but the seat is very strong and nothing is unraveling. Child's Antique 1940's Musical Chair Lord & Taylor NY "Easter Parade"
Up for your consideration: A wonderful antique child-size musical chair. Purchased at the famous New York department store. Lord& Taylor, in the 1940's. I acquired it from the original owner. Who was given it by her father. She is now in her late 70's and has loved and cared for it all these years, but she said it now needs another child to enjoy and love it. The chair is well constructed of solid wood(possibly Frutwood or Walnut) and joined together in the age-old technique of mortise and tenon. Using all-wood joints and fasteners instead of nails and screws allows for the wood to move with seasonal shrinkage and expansion. A piece of furniture constructed in this fashion can last as long as the wood. Which can be a thousand years. The only screws on this piece are underneath the seat, attaching the protective wood panel that ... morehouses and protects the musical mechanism. Chair has a medium stain, with a speckled finish. The caning on the seat is tight and supple. This chair is very study. Dimensions: Chair back is 22" high- Chair seat is 10" high- Arms 14 1/2" high- Inside dimensions of seat 10 1/2" x 10 1/2" Outer dimensions of seat 13" x 12 1/2" It should accomodate an average-size child. 1 year to approx. 4 years in age. The music box mechanism is located underneath the caning on the seat. So when a child sits on the chair, the music starts. The music box plays"Easter Bonnet" This music was written by the renowned Irving Berlin in 1933 and made famous in the movie starring Judy Garland and Fred Astaire. Never saw you look quite so pretty before. I could hardly wait to keep our date this lovely Easter morn. And my heart beat fast as I came through the door. Antique 1940's JAPANESE Bamboo Wood FOLDING DECK CHAIR Ship Steamer Chaise Vtg
Please read my listing thoroughly and view all of my PHOTOS: Here is an antique Japanese folding deck chair. I was told it is from the 1940's. It has a metal maker's label on the back(see photo) This chair has not been restored, the varnish is peeling and the strings are frayed. The wood is solid with no rot or soft spots. The seat, seat back and headrest sections are made of bamboo, I don't what kind of wood the frame is. Chair has four positions of recline. Collapsed down it measures about 36" long x 15.25" at the wides point x 2.5" thick at the headrest. Overall weight is 5.33 pounds. All photos are of the actual item I am selling here.
