1930's - 1950's Simmons Metal High Boy Dresser with Mirror
This is a beautiful dresser! In one of the drawers is a partial emblem showing that it is a Simmons dresser. It came to me in need of some tender loving care. It had been painted white. But was scratched in several places. I sanded the paint on the exterior of the dresser down to the bare metal. Just that alone made it very beautiful. To protect it, I first put a coat of Penetrol to stop any and all erosion, and then put a top-coat of Polyurethane. It has all of the original hardware except for two small pieces on the mirror that I had to replace since one was missing. The metal caster wheels are original and roll smoothly. The dresser did come with some small dents, and the mirror has a small spot where the silvering has come off; however, it does not hinder the use of the mirror. It is 3' 9 1/2" tall(excluding the mirror) 2' ... more8" wide and 1' 5 1/2" deep. 1930's Simmons Raw Steel Metal Dresser Vanity w/ Mirror Stripped Clear Coat VTG
I Have This Amazing Steel Dresser For Sale I am 99% sure it is a Simmons. However any original makers marks are no longer visible Dresser has been stripped of all original paint on visible surfaces. Underlying rust has also been removed and then the"raw" metal surfaces have been clear coated with spray laquer. Inside of drawers. Drawer bottoms, dresser bottom, and inside of dresser"carcas" vave been coated in an off white textured paint. All other surfaces have been stripped and cleared including the back and drawer sides. All stripping was done by"hand" with chemical stripper. Steel wool and a hand held wire brush. No mechanical devices were used(ie, sanders, sand blasters, wire wheels) as to preserve the unfinished metal"look" Mirror and plinth can be easily removed if desired I have taken pictures ... moreat different angles and light. Vintage Signed Imperial California Rancho Dresser and Wall Mirror 1930's - 40's
Vintage IMPERIAL Dresser and Matching Wall Mirror Set. Made by the Imperial Cabinet Co. of Los Angeles. California. Both pieces are signed with the Imperial name and King's Crown mark. The dresser and mirror are both hand painted and patterned in the desirable California Rancho, Spanish Revival, Western style that was so popular in the 1930's and 40's, and remains so today. Not only has their beauty and style lasted the test of time, but the superb craftsmanship and superior quality of the Imperial Cabinet Co. is also evident. This furniture was absolutely built to endure. After 70+ years, there are obviously going to be some imperfections here and there, all of which I believe simply add to their charm. Antique English Style Mahogany Dresser w Mirror (1880's-1930's) Prince of Wales
Turn of the Century English Style Dresser with Mirror w/ 5 Drawers in Solid Mahogany with Brass Pulls. The dovetail construction is similar to that of reproduction style furniture manufactured in America between the 1890's-1930's. This piece has a few types of European style detailing throughout. The dresser has 5 drawers. 3 smaller drawers on the top row and 2 large drawers below. The top 3 drawers have working locks but we received the dresser without the matching key. The brass pulls on all the drawers are Prince of Wales Ostrich Feather motifs used in English Style furniture in the 18th Century. The bottom drawer has a French Louis XV/Louis XVI style wood carvings. All the drawers are in excellent working condition(metal pin guides) with clean interiors. The bottom 2 drawers are the largest in size both adorned with the Prince ... moreof Wales brass pulls. Both in good working condition with clean interiors. The front legs are carved in the Edwardian Style with very little wear. And tapered legs in the rear. Side and top mahogany panels are in very good condition with very minor wear. The Louis XV style molding on the sides near the top are very similar to details used in English Style furniture in the 18th Century. The top of the mirror has a gallery style backing with an oval shaped beaded wood pattern and is finished in the center with another wood carved Prince of Wales Ostrich Feather motif. For the age this piece is in excellent condition with exquisite detailing. The dresser also offers lots of storage and will be a great piece to put in any bedroom. 1930's Antique Vanity Dresser Hand Painted Annie Sloan Desk
Antique 1930's double topped box vanity. She was painted in my own hand-mixed decorative paint in shades of cream and indigo blue. She was then hand waxed with Annie Sloan Dark Wax. Which is a premium furniture wax. Set on her original wooden casters(although she is missing one, but it does not affect her functionality) Original hardware and original wooden appliques. This is such a gorgeous piece. This piece can be used as a Desk, a TV Console, a Server, or a Vanity. 49 inches wide, 28 inches tall from counter to floor(top boxes add 5 additional inches) and 20 inches deep. She's very old and has had some veneer issues. Veneer was pulled off where it was loose. Then sanded down and painted over, but you can still see slightly where veneer meets the natural wood, but I think it gives this piece character. Drawers all function. Vintage French Provincial Bombe Triple Dresser by Union National Fine Furniture of Jamestown. NY. The dresser has a total of 9 drawers all with the original Brass pulls. There is a wonderfully curved front and bowed sides with carved trim on the bottom and top of the piece. The dresser top has a beveled edge on the front and 2 sides. The two front cabriole legs are in the French Provincial style with simple back legs. The 3 drawers on each side have one curved break in them closer to the far edge. With the 3 center drawers having two equidistant break from the sides. The hardware on the drawer fronts includes brass rosette plates and a curved brass arm connected by a center brass bead. The companies stamp is located on the upper left drawer. Also, the drawers are wide and deep allowing for lots of storage. Started in 1901. The mirror is in great shape. There is a crack on the top surface that will not impact the usability. Vintage 1930's Industrial Metal Dresser with Mirror
Originally this would have had a stenciled wood grain. It was used in large order for military bases. Dormitory and hospital type settings-brushed metal"low boy" dresser with swivel mirror. It was a relatively low cost item back in those days, easily manufactured for large quanity orders such as the previously mentioned institutions, but now due to the melting down of a lot of metal pieces for world war II, these are rare and extremely hard to find with the mirror still intact. Obviously, the dresser is used, has been painted several times, has some staining on the top, there is some paint on the mirror and the mirror also has something that looks like lipstick on it.We have not tried to remove it, don't want to mess up the mirror. To the best of my knowledge, it is all original except the pain and 2 of the knobs(replaced with ... morewood ones) We've owned it for about 5 years and know nothing more about it. T he dresser is"AS IS, WHERE IS, NO REFUNDS. We could not find a makers name on it anywhere but in our research we've been able to find out it appears to be made by Simmons Co. in the mid to late 30's-they put a sticker on the back of theirs so if this one had one. It has long since been gone. Dimensions of thi one is about 40" wide by 36 1/2" tall without the mirror and 66 1/2" tall with mirror. the dresser has what I call a beveled edge, finials by the mirror, and the legs have what appear to be the original casters on them. It is all metal except for 1 or 2 drawer knobs which we replaced with wood knobs. And yes. The back which is brown is metal. WE WILL NOT SHIP THIS ITEM. Pretty dresser that I picked up from an estate sale for a man that was the organist at the Fox Theater in Oakland. Ca. It is in great vintage condition. There are some minor discoloration in the marble and two small holes where a mirror probably sat. The wood is in good condition for its age. One of the keyholes is missing the wood plug(probably removed due to a loss of the key) This piece has served me well but I purchased a different one. Antique English Vanity Dresser Cherrywood, Circa 1930's-40's
1930’s– 1940’s Dresser Vanity This dresser/vanity belonged to my grandmother. I have been using this myself until recently downsizing and redecorating. The finish is the original. I am not sure of the wood description. I think it is either mahogany or cherry wood. The vanity is a 7 drawer. Silverback swivel mirror, never broken. Again you can look at the pictures. I would say that it is in pretty good shape to be this old. The width of this vanity is 47 ½ inches. The vanity height is 29 inches. The depth is 19 ½“ The height of the vanity, mirror and all is 71 inches The joints of the drawers are tongue and groove and slide freely. Antique Highboy Dresser by Statesville Furniture Co ~ The Dependable Line Exact year is unknown by me as I am not an Antique collector. My online research about Statesville Furniture Co. estimates that this is from around the 1930's. For it's age. My opinion is that it is in fair to good condition. I am not aware of what kind of wood this is made of, my apologies, again I am not a collector. It is on metal rolling castor wheels. The top of dresser has scroll design piece that can be removed. It is a separate piece and not attached to the dresser. Beautiful dresser. I just don't have the right place for it in my home. Payment is due at the time of purchase. 1930's Gentleman's Art Deco Dresser
We have a beautiful 1930's Art Deco gentleman's dresser. It is made of mahogany and has the original pulls. it has six lower drawers and one upper drawer. It is 36 inches wide by 20 inches deep by 58 inches tall. The burl wood is absolutely astounding. It is in a French Country style.
