It has four dove tail drawer going down the left-hand side and four going down the right-hand side. The center drawer has round dove tail as expected from the Eastlake era. It has burl walnut trim on the fronts with an ogee bevel edge around the routed top. It has a black felt interior on the writing surface that is nice. The finish on the sides is amazing. It has panel sides, rope twisted molding, detail cast brass hardware, escutcheons are intact. There are no keys or locks. The desk is 48 inches wide, 27 inches deep and 30 inches tall. The space for your legs is 19 inches by 25 inches.

The desk comes with four raised panel dove tail drawers that retain all the original hardware. The center where the legs go have a reverse cove carving, which I have never seen in oak. It has a scallop bottom trim base, raised panels all the way around and a wide bevel edge on the solid tiger sawn oak top. The only negatives I see on the desk is that there is a little wear on the edge of the top from rubbing against something and there is a split going down the center of the top. We most likely could pull the top off and repair the top, which wouldn’t make a huge difference, but it is an expensive repair. The desk itself is high end quality.

ANTIQUE VTG FLAT TOP STEAMER TRUNK - VICTORIAN PIRATE CHEST RESTORED REFINISHED
Up for sale is this beautiful refinished antique flat top steamer trunk/victorian pirate chest with tray. It measures 28 1/2" long by 18" wide and 11 1/2" tall. The original canvas that wrapped this trunk has been removed and the wood was sanded. Stained then sealed with of spar urethane. The interior has been redone with a newer fabric liner at some point in this trunk's history- it has some wear and blemishes but overall it is in very good condition. This trunk is a great decor piece that is functional for storage, hope chest, files, etc. Ask if you have any questions and thank you for looking.

A new covering was put inside to resemble the old, so no musty smell. All original hardware and wood has been lightly sanded then sealed with a satin finish. New leather handles were put on. To a nice baby smooth finish! The Original lid stay is present and is in working condition. Which will hold open the top lid, so you can load and unload your trunk safely. The trunk features solid oak or ash wood slats. The trunk features the Original Lock and it is in Working Order with the key. This is a nice feature to have so that you can lock away your special items for safety. We make a divided removable tray insert and added a Unique Trunk picture to the inside lid. It has been restored inside and out and is super-clean and ready to use. The trunk is very solid and sturdy. It is made from oak and the exterior is covered in tin and has metal trim with oak slats. It has all of its original hardware. The trunk measures 34.5 inches wide by 20 inches deep by 24 inches high. And it weighs 64.5 pounds. The exterior has been thoroughly sanded. The tin has been primed and finished with two coats of black paint. The oak slats have been refinished with two coats of tung oil as has all of the exterior hardware and other metal parts. Both of the levers that lock the latches work fine. Both of the handles ... morehave been replaced with very similar leather handles. The bottom was sanded and finished in black. All four of the original metal roller wheels on the bottom of the trunk are intact. The entire inside of the trunk and the oak tray have been sanded and refinished with two coats of polyurethane. The lid for the tray has been recovered in Victorian-pattern cloth. There is a reproduction Victorian chromolithograph on the top of the inside of the trunk lid. The lock is solid brass. The wardrobe side even has its Original Wooden Hangers that are built right in and an ingenious Slide Bar so you can decrease the area as the size of your clothing dictates. Below the wardrobe is a fold down box which we assume was for shoes. To the Right is a 4 Drawer Dresser with Drawers for even more storage. The drawers are all relatively narrow given the trunk's size but they are all Extra Deep! Outside. The trunk has a Black Leather like outer surface with Big Metal Corner Protectors on all Corners and all the Protectors are Intact! The black outer surface has some wear as would be expected but given the 100+ age of the trunk, it really is not bad at all. A Ladycomet Nice Refinished Victorian Flat Top Steamer Trunk Antique Chest w/Key
Nice Refinished Antique Flat Top Steamer Trunk With Working Lock& Key Here is a nice refinished steamer trunk from around 1900 or so. This one has a very fancy working lock. Here are the trunk's dimensions: from left to right across the front is 32 inches. From floor to top is 23 1/2 inches, and from front edge to back edge is 20 1/4 inches. This trunk is made up of pine base wood with oak or ash outer slat boards. The wood has been finished with three coats of polyurethane by Minwax to protect it and make it look nice. The wood is in pretty good condition considering the age of this trunk and there are some typical stress cracks in the base wood. We have shown a close up picture of some of these stress cracks on the top. The majority of the trunks have similar stress cracks. This trunk maker did a nice job of running metal banding ... moreon this trunk. By doing so, it gives the trunk a nice wooden sectioned appearance. Some of the metal banding was missing, so we have filled these areas with glue to make up for the missing banding. The front latches are original cast iron ones and do work properly since the springs are intact. The side handles have been replaced with Amish made black leather stitched straps. The metal parts on this trunk are not brass and have therefore been brush painted by hand in black and gold leaf. Someone has added a lock hasp on the front of the trunk next to the fancy lock. We decided to leave it there since it appears to be fairly old and you could use a padlock with this hasp to secure the lid of the trunk to the base in addition to the fancy working lock. The lock is fancy in which it has embossed and carved patterns on it. There is a close up picture showing this unique lock. We did match up a key that does work with this lock. We are calling this trunk a flat top, although this trunk has a very slight factory arch to the top which is noticeable in ths close up side view picture. Victorian Steamer Trunk 34 x 22.5 H x 19 This is a versatile and attractive true antique from the late 19th century. A medium-sized Victorian steamer trunk made of wood, trimmed with tin and steel hardware, and featuring a flat lid. It’s 34 inches wide and 22.5 inches tall– perfect for a coffee table, lamp table, or bedroom storage. The trunk is constructed of a pine box with hardwood slats across the top and around all four sides. The interior has been completely cleaned and refinished with a reproduction Victorian lithograph inside the lid. The hinges are tight and the lid fits securely when closed. Yet opens easily. The hasp on the right side does not lock, but does not compromise the closed lid. Although there is no key, the lock appears to be in good working condition and a local locksmith could provide a replacement key, if desired. ... moreThe restoration features new stitched leather handles(mounted with the original end caps) and matching leather belts with brass buckles to replicate the originals. A Ladycomet Refinished Flat Top Victorian Steamer Trunk Antique Chest w/Key&Tray
Nice Refinished Flat Top Steamer Trunk With Working Lock& Key and Original Multi Divided Tray Here is a great refinished flat top steamer trunk from the late 1800's to around 1900 or so. We are calling it a flat top although there is a very slight factory arch. These are the trunk's dimensions: from left to right across the front is 30 1/2 inches. From floor to top is 22 inches, and from front edge to back edge is 18 1/2 inches. This beautiful trunk is made up of poplar base wood with oak or ash outer slat boards. We have finished the wood with three coats of polyurethane by Minwax to protect it and give it a nice appearance. The wood is in pretty good condition although there are some typicl distress marks or character marks. These include older nicks and dings in various places along with some stress cracks. Just about all of ... morethe trunks that we refinish have some of these older distress marks. This one comes with the original working lock. We did find a key that will activate the lock mechanism. The front latches are original and work ok since the springs are intact. The side handles have been replaced with Amish made black leather stitched straps. They are sturdy. The metal parts on this trunk are not brass. If they were, we would have semi polished them. Very seldom do you come across an American made trunk that has all brass hardware. The metal parts on this trunk have been brush painted by hand in black and gold leaf. This lovely trunk would make a great gift for a loved one on any special occasion. The new owner could store their personal belongings and collectibles inside the trunk and later in life pass it down to the future generations. Going to the interior, we have removed the paper lining since it was worn out looking. We then have given the interior wood two coats of polyurethane. This trunk come with the original multi divided tray that rests at the top edge. Store items in this tray, then lift it up and put more items deep inside the trunk. I recently bought the inventory of a well known local trunk refinishing specialist. His trunks have been used in magazines. Print adds and several motion pictures. He was well known for his unique way of upholstering the interiors of the trunks. The trunks make great use of storage space, make great coffee or end tables or great at the foot of your bed. This trunk is a nice mid size flat top victorian steamer trunk. TYhe trunk has been stripped of its original finish and stained and finished with lacquer. Lacquer finishes are water and alchohol resistant. The metal parts of the trunk have been painted using rustoleum paint. The handles have been replaced. 19th Century, Victorian Era, Metal Flat Top Steamer Trunk Named: J. A. Galliers
Victorian Era English Flat-Top Trunk Named: J. A. Galliers Click on photos to SUPERSIZE! Here's a truly fantastic. 19th Century, antique travel trunk for you. This flat-top trunk measures 32" x 19" x 13" The trunk is constructed of black painted metal with wooden gussets. The interior is lined with copper painted metal(I think it may be brass) The trunk has four handles and a key lock on front(the key is missing) There are two cast-iron latches on the front. These latches give the trunk a very unique antique appearance that I don't believe I've seen before. Perhaps the most interesting thing about this fine looking trunk is the markings. The trunk is named in white script"J. A. Galliers" It also has"C/O A.E.O. La Libertad. Unaccompanied Baggage" written on top. The side of the trunk has remnants ... moreof a paper tag. I can just make out a bit of the script which reads in-part: Williamson Merchant, Grace)Church Street, London" The lock is marked"4 Best English Lever" These are the only markings on the trunk. I did a google search for J. A. Galliers and found that there was an author named"John Albert Galliers" living in London. This gentleman passed away in 2011 at the age of 82. I wonder if this could be his old trunk? If so, how did it end up in Columbia, MO, where I recently purchased it at a thrift store? The trunk is in very good condition. As you can see in the photographs. It does show some wear from the age of it, but I think this only ads to the genuine patina(which cannot be faked) I suppose you could refinish the trunk, but I feel as though that would remove much of it's history. If this were my trunk I would have a piece of glass cut for the top and make it into a fantastic coffee table. I have a similar vintage trunk type coffee table in my own home, otherwise I might keep this one. I'm confident that this item will make for a very interesting addition to any collection. Restored Antique Victorian Flat Top Ladies Steamer Trunk, Hat Trunk, Half Trunk
This restored antique steamer trunk had originally been a ladies hat trunk and is significantly smaller than a standard steamer trunk. The chestnut slats are solid and the metal fittings are all in good condition. It has its original Eagle working lock and key. The metal bottom cover is in excellent condition. The latches work fine and the lid stay is solid. The trunk is structurally sound. Clean and ready to put back in service. It is 26" wide, 21" deep, and 23" high. Its small size makes it perfect for an apartment or condo where space may be at a premium. This trunk has been restored to maintain its appearance and its utility as an antique, not to make it look likes its new. With normal care, it will be around into the next century.

This a flat top Steamer Trunk. It is canvas. I do not know anything about the history of it. It does say. In very small letters, what seems to be Potomac 1880. I am sure it says 1880, but I am not sure about the name. I can definitely make out Pot(o or p) mac. I am sorry for the quality of the pictures and I do have more pictures,but Ebay limits to 12. I do believe by the looks of it that it very old. It is what it looks to me like a Victorian style trunk. It is missing the leather handles on each side. The top does have one lever hinge. so the lid does open correctly. It seems to be missing the inside wood shelf. It has very small wheels on the bottom for moving around. One wheel is missing. When setting on the floor, the wheels are not visible. Spring loaded-drop down whichever they are. Antique Steamer Trunk Victorian Flat Top Salesman Chest mid 1800's. Red & black
Considering it's age. I would say it's in great condition! There are some signs of aging but it still has all the original pieces, including the hardware. It has been painted red and it's chipping off, revealing a gold and black chest. It's been stored and unaltered. There is some cracked wood on the llid of the trunk. It's a beautiful piece with great potential. After a good authentic refurbishment, it will be amazing! It's a true period piece and a conversation starter!

1800's Antique Victorian Steamer Trunk Flat Top Chest Look! This is a great antique smaller steamer trunk. The trunk is in great shape for its age and it looks amazing. The trunk has some normal cracks in the wood nothing major as pictured. It has some minor wear on wood and metal due to age. Other than that it's in great shape.
