Absolutely amazing dome Steamer Trunk. Very nice black and wood look. In outstanding condition for its age. Has the top compartment and the original label that refers to the James Dooley company that made high end trunks and luggage in downtown New York City from the Mid to Late 1800s. Additionally it is adorned with many stickers and customs tags from the various places it traveled. Please see all pictures for detail. This trunk has had some work to it and may need a little fixing up if desired by new owner. It seems to have a lacquer like finish. For your consideration is a beautiful anti que round top Civil War era trunk. It is also known as a stagecoach trunk. Based on the lock. The hand forged iron handles and the hand forged nails I believe this trunk dates to 1850-1860. Also please notice the quality. Unusual, hand cut. Dove tailed corners. This trunk is made from six solid pine boards. All sides, top, and bottom are made of a single wide pine board. The top has a couple of small cracks due to the wood losing its moisture over its 150+ years of life. It comes with a working lock but missing the key. The trunk measures 30" wide X 15" deep X 13" high. It does not have a tray as trunks during this time were not equipped with trays. Antique c1860 Jenny Lind StageCoach Steamer Trunk Domed Top
This is a beautiful antique Jenny Lind Civil War Era Pine Stagecoach Steamer Trunk dating to around 1860. The trunk has a domed top with front to back metal banding and brass studs and hardwood horizontal slats. The trunk has its original steel lock. The trunk has provenance with the name in Braille on the bottom left of the lid. It is J. Bagnall& Sons. The Trunk was made in England from 1850- 1860. The back hinges and side leather straps are not original but do have some age. PLEASE NOTE: the brass cap on the left side of the lid is missing in the photo but I do have it and will be returned to the trunk. The trunk maintains its original pine planks on the bottom. Pre Civil War Small Stagecoach or Buckboard Leather Dome Top Trunk W/Tacks VF
This little trunk. 22" long, 11" high, 11" wide, is in remarkably good condition for its advanced age, sure its missing a couple straps and leather handles on ends but how many trunks of this age are this good. This trunk has not been repaired or altered from its original state. It has leather hinges and one is broken. original lock, might be handmade. Initials on top and tack holes beside them suggest more initials. The interior has very old newspapers in bottom and top, one is dated 1831. John Wayne would like this little chest to put on his stagecoach or stick under the seat of his buckboard. Thanks.

Antique Stagecoach Trunk, Hide Covered, Round Top, ca 1816
For your consideration is an antique. Small stagecoach trunk or large document box. This trunk dates to 1816 based on the newspaper covering the interior. The trunk has its original hide covering. Lock, leather hinges and forged metal side handles. It is in very good condition for nearly 200 years old. This smaller trunk measures 20 1/2" wide X 10" deep X 9" high.
