This work table has a very unusual faux drawer facing on its reverse side that identically matches the front drawer faces down to the tightly carved cock bead molded drawers. This work table has an equally unique channel carved tapered center column flowing down into Regency influenced stylized spider legs on its original caster wheels. It is equipped with a tightly chip carved base on the base of the center column. With four drop finials on each corner under the base of this work table it ... moremakes a powerful presence. This is a completely unique creation by Duncan Phyfe's shop. It is in very good condition and has been well maintained. There is one professional repair to the flame mahogany veneered top. LARGE VICTORIAN WALNUT TURTLE TOP TABLE ATTRIBUTED TO PRUDENT MALLARD CIRCA 1850
This is a fabulous victorian center hall turtle top table that I am confidently attributing to furniture maker Prudent Mallard. The table has the large 7" x 16" beaded center finial and the classic carved 5" x 3 1/2" eggs on all sides of the 5 1/2" apron. The table is quite large. It measures 48 1/2" wide. 36" deep, and 28 3/4" tall. I bought this from an estate many years ago and is in as found condition with the wooden turtle top lifting off the base. The table has substantial curved cabriole tip legs that sit on original brass rollers. Email with any questions. Antique sheraton stand game table Attributed to New London, Ct Last Reduction
I am offering for the first time(I'm new on Ebay selling. But not new to antiques)this very incredible antique Sheraton game table stand. This piece was recently fresh picked from an incredible estate here in Freeport, Maine. The owner passed on to me his wife and her family is from New London(for generations) and is where this stand is from. It features 2 drawers in beautiful working and solid condition. It features drop leaves which again, leaves and hinges in excellent condition. The checkerboard top is inlaid and beautiful. As pics show, there is a split going down through the top. I personally would not touch, but can be reglued if you wanted. Measurements are as follows. 28 1/2" tall. 17 1/2" deep. 16 1/2" wide. With both leaves up, measures 35" wide. SUPERB FRENCH LOUIS XV WOOD DINING TABLE BLACK SILVER ATTRIBUTED MAITLAND SMITH
We are pleased to offer this EXCEPTIONAL. Vintage, dining or library table. The table is solid wood and features a beautifully and artistically painted finish. It has superb, INTRICATE carved details on the top perimeter. There is an outer, pie crust" pattern along with a center veined leaf design. The inner border design features a carved/incised rope or barley twist accent. The table top is finished in a black crackled paint with silver paint applied to the leaf and rope patterns. The table pedestal is substantial in diameter and is accented with large, carved acanthus leaves. The table has four legs which are prominently curved. The legs possess carved acanthus leaves on their exterior profiles and carved scrolls on the interior. The legs are completed with wood, ball and lion paw/claw feet. Again, the base, legs and feet are in black ... morecrackle paint. The acanthus leaves and scrolls are finished in silver. The table top is uniquely supported underneath with a boxed design support. The center box fits perfectly onto the table base and is secured with two long wood screws. This is a FABULOUS table. The top appears to be designed for a glass cover to fit just inside the carved borders as this area is recessed/lower than the carved area. There is no glass with the table, but a piece could be purchased to fit into the relief area. The table is very sturdy and in very nice condition. There are no manufacturer's stickers or marks, but the table has the quality and style of Maitland Smith. We sell several Maitland Smith pieces and this was purchased from an auction in which there were several Maitland Smith pieces available. Because they generally use foil stickers, it is not uncommon for their stickers to be missing. This is a QUALITY table with extraordinary detail. This table started its life as Parlor center table and it was expertly reduced in format to make an amazing large coffee table. Coffee tables were not an advent until the 1920's. This piece is an absolute gem of some of America's very finest decorative arts work employed within our furniture making history. It has a spectacular display of inlays made from satinwood. Ebony, tulip and various other brightly colored fruit woods over walnut forming scenes hunting Spaniel dogs pointing our birds, ... moreLeafman faces and a center pattern of a bagpipe instrument, women's bonnet, urns, wreaths, gourd and various other floral decorative motifs. Its base apron is adorned with big bold decorative carvings with ebony colored highlights. The legs are all carved and tapered then connected by a yoke formed base stretcher. The reduction of the table's height was performed by cleverly removing about 8" from the top of its legs. This was highly skilled work that only an expert eye can detect it evidenced only be the fact that they did not make Coffee Tables like this and what do exist were the results of people converting their center tables. Great coffee tables are indeed difficult finds and something on this grade is an American Decorative Arts Masterpiece we strongly feel done by Roux's NYC shop. Great late 19th century center table or desk in the Louisiana XVI style attribute to F. LINKE no signature has been found but the quality of the bronze work is exquisite.
