This is a beautiful Victorian Tiger Oak Quartersawn Solid and Veneer 54" Round table that opens to accept a leaf. We were very attracted to its classic octagonal column resting on a simple curving pedestal base rather than the kind of creepy animal claw bases we saw when we were looking for an antique oak dining table 30 years ago. We lost the leaf having moved twice since we purchased the table at the time we owned a Victorian home. But it would be easy to replace or replicate. The table is 30" tall with skirt 4 1/4" high. The table had a couple of repaired chips to the top when we bought it and over time it has another chip- please see the pics; t here are also some chips on the base- please see the pics. ROUND OAK TABLE - 45" Diameter 29-1/2" High - Opens to 6' - No Leaves
All that's needed is a good polishing and you're good to go. The pictures don't do it justice- the grain is really nice and the finish is good. There's a nick in the top near the edge- This can be repaired easily if you're at all handy. Other than that it is Strong& Sturdy- No wobble and it's on it's original Casters. So you can move it easily. This is the REAL DEAL- not a Malaysian repro at twice the price! I would guess 1910-20 from a Sears catalogue. The table expands to 6' able to accept. For example 2- 13-1/2" leaves or better still, a single 27" leaf, however I don't have any leaves. The top is 3/4" thick, so leaves or a single large leaf can be easily made from half of a 4' x 8' sheet of 3/4" Oak faced plywood(available at a lumber yard or Home Depot(about $35 for ... morea full sheet) It would have to be finished on the Oak faced side to match, but if you're using a table cloth, why bother. great antique quartersawn oak swan table round split pedestal claw feet 54 inch
for sale is a solid quartersawn oak dining table with a split pedestal. i have it pictured at being open 12 feet. That is all the room i have, i expect it will open to 15 feet. i have it also pictured open at 8 feet. at any rate, the table is 54 inches in diameter, has claw feet with sitting swans, i think that is what they are, resting on the foot extension that attaches to the pedestal. actually i have had this table stored for a long time. if it has leaves, i can't find them. i have several 54 inch leaves but i can't find any that fit this peg and hole pattern. leaves can be made if someone wants some. i made 7 last week for a table i sold. i used quartersawn oak and the material cost about 65.00 per leaf. i did not find leaves nor did i find a center leg or middle leg to support the table if extended a long distance. at 8 feet ... moreit does not need a middle leg, at 12 it does. i have a quartersawn middle leg shown in the pictures where it is opened to 12 feet. it is not the original leg that the table may have had at one time, it is however a 100 years old or older, but i can make it work if someone wants to use this table for banquets. anyway, as is, no leaves and no center leg. getting back to the table, it is a very striking table of solid quartersawn oak. it is very solid with no loose or wobbling parts and pieces. it opens and closes with ease. it has very nice quartersawn flake all over the table. if anyone has an interest in leaves and middle leg, i would be happy to complete your request. i would charge 100.00 for the middle leg installed and 25.00 for each leaf i make. the material cost would be additional of course and the last leaves i made that figure was about 65.00 per leaf. it is a great table with or without leaves. it may be piked up at my home or shipped at buyer;s expense. good luck.

Antique Claw Foot Round Oak Pedestal 48 Inch Table This is a beautiful 48 Inch pedestal round oak table. The feet are 4 3 toed claw feet on castors with a solid(non split variety) fluted pedestal in gorgeous oak. The surface of this 48" oak veneer top is in excellent condition with no discoloration or major damage though there is a small chunk of veneer missing. It is not too noticeable and when you are using it you will probably have a table cloth so you wont even see it at all. The entire top might well be oak. They just chose to use quartersawn oak veneer rather than solid oak straight cut. The board that connects the two runners to the base has been replaced. The runners on the right side of the picture stick and do not open easily. The table is quite stable and i believe once you get the sliders working right you will have room ... morefor at LEAST 2 12" leaves, probably 3. With leaves it is a 7 foot long table. The height of the table surface from the floor is 29 inches with a 2 1/2 inch solid oak rim. The surface of the table is very flat. Here is a really cool French 19th century Breton solid oak table with a slightly oval top with gadrooned carved edge over an inset apron and mounted on a superbly carved scroll leg quadrupled base. The base has various fruits and lots of acanthus leaves and C scrolls of the period which may be as early as 1860. Width = 45" Length = 41" closed) Length = 83 1/2" open) There are no leaves. However, leaves could be easily made. I have a quote for $200 for 4 10 to 10 1/2 inches each. Height = 28 1/2" When pulled open. There are four solid turned legs which drop down to support the table ends. When the table is closed, these legs are just tucked up underneath the table along with the slide mechanism. antique solid quartersawn oak 54 inch round table carved pedestal claw feet
for auction is a table i drug out of one on my sheds. Cleaned it up and decided to try to sell it. this is a very nice solid quartersawn oak round top table that is 54 inches in diameter. it has great flake in the wood in the top, skirt, and the base. there are no veneers. it has an unusual claw footed base which has carving on the legs and the bottom of the squared pedestal which divide at the hypotenuse and makes either portion of the base therefore V shaped. the top opens to 92 inches which makes it almost 8 feet long. i have pictured some chairs around it so you can see that it will easily seat 8 people( or more) when opened. when close it seats 6 comfortably. it has casters on the claw feet and the base and rolls well and sits perpendicular when open and does not sag in the middle. at any rate, it is very well built, very solid, no loose ... moreor missing parts or pieces i am aware of. i do not have leaves for the table, i probably do but don't know where they are, but some could be easily made. i hope the pictures enhance the description. any questions please ask. again a very nice, solid, table of high quality material being quartersawn oak that has large and abundant flake. it may be picked up at my home or shipped at buyer;s expense. good luck.

It has never been refinished. This was purchased at the end of the 1900’s. The table is solid oak and heavy. The diameter is 46” and has 3 leafs. Each leaf is a foot long. This is also a split pedestal style table with the desirable double locking mechanism. When opened and the pedestal splits and allows it to split revealing the hidden center leg. Unfortunately one very tall family member decide to heighten the table with larger casters. I think I can find the original casters. But. The heavy table is for pickup only. I would work with someone to help arrange furniture mover to take it. But any moving would be at the purchasers expense.

Overall. It's ready to use-no projects here! Splits in middle and slides nicely apart for use of leaves. This includes one original. Matching leaf. We also had 3 leaves made so we could expand this further-this coordinate well but are not a precise match, as they were made of a regular grained modern red oak. Once again, they look nice but are not an exact match. The new leaves mesh together with biscuits so they will match the top level of the table. The older leaf uses the original peg system. 1899-1927 Round Oak Pedestal Extension Table, Hanson Furniture Co - Orig ANTIQUE
This table was in my mother's collection of antiques(passed down from my grandmother) It is a large oak dining table with a massive central pedestal and four straight legs that fold down when the leaves are added and the table is extended. When not used. The straight legs are secured to the underside of the table top by a latch(see close-up picture) The feet on the pedestal are metal casters- they are not wheel casters, they are flat, smooth metal discs that tilt in all directions and because they are smooth and flat, it makes it easy to slide the pedestal(see photo) There are 2 extension leaves that come with the table. Refer to the photos- the table is sold as is. There might have been a repair to the pedestal(see last photo) I have taken pictures of all 4 sides of the pedestal- the last photo is a close-up of one of the sides showing ... morepossible repair. I do not know if it was ever refinished before we owned it. There are imperfections in the finish such as scratches and a water ring. The finish appears to be shellac.
