Antique 1800's Primitive Slant Desk Original Wood-nailings
Antique Slant Desk 1880 Primitive but Original Great piece very nice looking. Goes with primitive.Country, federal and early Armerican Décor. Nice slant desk for office-bedroom-foyer. Nice for young adult-child. Measures 25.5 by 25 and 32 inches high. Very old piece that has the wear from generation to generation. Overall sturdy and excellent original. Besides the age in the wood you can see some of the old original nails that were used during the 1800's. This was a desk that you would see furnished in a country farm house or rural area not an aristocratic rich family in the city so the desk would be handed down from generation to generation home to home so they would repair it as needed. You will see some old repair on the front of the desk by the top shown in photo of the old nails. Nails throughout are very old of the 1880 period ... morebut the hinges were replaced later as shown. The key hole is bare as no key was used later. Rustic natural and great antique décor. Sturdy and well lasting. Please look at all photos. Primitive Original Antique Slant Top Shopkeeper's Desk Circa 1880-1900 Very old piece that shows the appropriate wear one would expect from a shopkeeper's desk. This piece was used both in an early drugstore and real estate office in Quogue. New York. It never had a base as it was always used on a counter. For an old piece, it is very sturdy and in very good condition. It has the original hinges and lock; there is no key. Desk measures about 30 inches wide. 28 inches from front to back, height of desk in back 10 inches, height at front is 7 inches. Some pictures show the desk on a base. Base is an optional purchase. We found the base years ago and sat the desk on it as it was the perfect size. If you are interested in the base. We would sell that for an additional $25.

19th C. Diminutive Primitive Slant lid Writing Clerks Childs Desk Spanish Rustic
Not sure what this really is but questions and comments welcome. Looks kind of fancy to be a child's desk but at 21x17x44-1/2 tall it makes a small adult desk. Possibly was it was meant to be portable and it does have a hasp lock on the lid.So some kind valuables were meant to be kept inside. It is very well made and sturdy,someone took the time to cut and joint this together,its not just a bunch of boards nailed together. Even the top board has a slight bevel the goes all they way around the bottom of the board. I'm thinking it may be Spanish or European and from the mid 1800 judging by the few nails that you can see. Beside the bottom wire hinge on right top door needing fixed all it needs is a quick dusting,it have a great old natural wood patina that does not need any color added to it.
