It is truly a nice period untouched table. It has a ribbon mahogany top, round corner drop leaves, heavy bold column four legged base, solid cast brass Duncan Phyfe claw foot and built in castors. I normally don’t buy period furniture like this, but I was very impressed by how untouched this piece was. The overall size is 40.5 inches long, 24 inches wide when the leaves are closed, 15 inches wide on each leaf, 52 inches long when the leaves are flipped up. The finish is very nice for being 180 years old. It does show normal nicks, dings and scratches, but I believe it would rub out nicely to make a good presentation.

Item# 120011RYI24 ... moreThis listing is for a remarkable and very fine Sheraton Pembroke table of the Federal Period. Crafted in New York during the first quarter of the 19th Century. It is a magnificent work, using the most incredible solid mahogany boards available for the overall presentation. Each leaf is a very broad single plank of full grained glowing mahogany, the middle most board a full 21 1/4" across the grain; each was flawlessly planed by hand until the surface was perfectly smooth, at which point a french polish was applied. This is a labor intensive and difficult finish to apply, layer after countless layer of shellac being rubbed into the surface by hand, but when done properly the result is breathtaking. The surface absolutely shimmers, the deep reds of the mahogany glowing through with utter brilliance. The leaves are notched and rounded. Giving an overall"cloud" form to each hanging surface, these lifting over hand forged iron hinges with entirely original screws. The top projects just slightly over the front, lining up perfectly along the sides such that the leaves rest squarely against the frame when in dropped form. One side of the table has a faux drawer with cockbead molding around it. The other side has a very deep drawer without cockbead molding, both having bold original polished brass stamped handles. Inside of the drawer. A white label is affixed on the left side from a dealer who once carried the table"Edwin C. Ahlberg, Antique Furniture, New Haven, Conn" The drawer is hand dovetailed at the back, nailed at the front, chamfered on the thick bottom along the sides to rabbet into the drawer frame and is nailed at the back of the drawer with a modern nail. Antique Oak Hotel Dresser Side Step w/Hat/Bonnet Box (Period Piece c-1875) NICE!
Here you are bidding on an"Antique Oak Hotel Dresser" This is a beautiful item. It is a side step dresser that was primarily made for hotel rooms. Hence the name'hotel dresser' It has four drawers on the higher side all complete with the brass around the keyholes. The lower side has a drawer over a hat/bonnet box(this drawer missing the brass key lining) The drawers and hat box door all have wooden handles. There is a back splash on the lower side that may or may not have been added at one time, I'm not sure. It can be removed or left on, your preference. It is a beautiful quarter sawn oak grain. Both sides of the dresser are paneled. It is circa 1875. In overall very very good condition. Intact, sturdy and functional. It's only missing the brass around the drawer on the lower side and the inside of the hat box bottom ... morehasb een replaced. Otherwise, this item has a beautiful finish and again in beautiful shape. It measures 42 inches wide x 35 inches on the higher left side x 20 inches deep. We are very excited to be offering today this wonderful period Beidermeier seven drawer flame mahogany period chest that dates from the ... more1850s era. It came into our west coast warehouse off the last container. It has the beautiful finish. Which has always been for the Beidermeier that we hand pick. This wonderful seven drawer chest has a very unusual, besides the stunning match veneer fronts as you can see in the photos, it has the detail claw foot with toe nails also carved in, instead of the scroll or block feet. It is in wonderful condition with the typical age cracks on the plank sides and it has a stress crack across the top of the crown molding(on the very top) that is not visible unless you are standing on a chair. The finish is really nice and the escutcheons are all there. There is a key, but we do not guarantee the locks to work as they always need to be cleaned, oiled and adjusted, but they appear to be working currently. The seven drawers represent the seven days of the week for the men when they went to sea. On Sunday, it was their best day, so it is in the deepest drawer. These drawers never had handles as the key was used to unlock that days attire and open the drawer. A very special Empire period example with unusual hand carved walnut branch& leaf details at the base, sides& top center medallion. This medallion panel is actually a"secret" drawer, perfect to store valuables- that can only be opened by first opening the drawer underneath, reaching up to engage a solid wood spring latch to open. The items featured in this lot are a matched pair of solid mahogany half pilasters that go on the front of a period Empire chest. These are some what rare in the fact that they usually do not become available and are very prized by restoration type individuals. The pilasters retain their original finish(nice patina) and appear to be in nice used condition(with the exception of one pilaster missing an"ear" that can be carved to replace. Circa 1870 Mahogany Bow front Sturdy See description for full condition report, This stunning handcrafted piece was made in England in 1870. The warm patina of the mahogany has a satin luster that would mesh well with most decorating styles. The outward bow of the facade brings an element of brightening elegance to any setting. The two-on-three style drawers provide a great deal of storage. All of the drawers come equipped with all-brass hardware and lock escutcheons. However there is no key. The edges of the drawers are ... moredecorated with a fine bead molding. Just under the top molding is a handsomely inlaid double end spear design done from satinwood string inlay. The piece sits on a pair of very sturdy shaped bracket feet. The dresser is around 145 years old and in good condition overall. The drawers open easily and shut tight. The brass pulls are fastened securely to the drawers although they are not original to this antique dresser. There is a small chip in one as pictured. The mold around the top has been repaired on all sides. There is also a strong repair on the front right foot. You will find some separation marks in the darker spots on both sides and along the front moulding. There are signs of character building wear on the entire piece and the top has a number of light marks and stains. The pictures are a great representation of the condition. None of these items listed above have any sort of effect on the structural integrity of the piece as it is very sturdy. Wonderful antique dressers like this are hard to find.
