Oval shaped marble has been polished and sealed to resist stains. Solid walnut. The base has a very fine finish and is strong and tight. The base is charmingly askew from the top, and appears to have been made that way, see photos. A faint painted inscription shows this antique was originally made for someone in Ithaca. NY. This is a great table. Walnut with white marble. In very good shape considering its all original finish. No cracks in marble. Just typical wear for its age. Finish is completely original and of course has the usual crazing consistent with late 1800's furniture. I will work with your delivery company, or you can pick up locally. It certainly has the heavily carved trademark style of Brooks. It has carving on every part of the base you can see, including burl panels, big carved leaves, incise carving, fluted tapered center columns, amazing carved skirts. The only thing I can see that is a negative is that the marble itself could use some bleaching or buffing. It’s 130 years old, so it looks period, and will look fantastic if cleaned, polished, or replaced. The overall size is 32 inches wide on the marble, 25 inches deep, and 30.5 inches tall. The table has been professionally refinished at some point in the past and has a wonderful color, patina and look. Big beautiful slab of thick grey and white Vermont marble in super condition. Super carving and applied moldings to the legs and 4 wonderful carved female heads on the 4 sides of the deep skirt in cartouches framed with swagged drapes. From the headress and hair style, they appear to be either Egyptian or Grecian styles, hence the attribution. If you want a perfect oval top marble table?keep looking. If you'd like a decent looking MT table at an affordable price here it is. I used this upstairs in a bedroom. I am sure it was originally in a parlor as its still a pretty table you could use it in a parlor. It has an older repair to one legs in a couple of places with a re-glue and bracket screwed on both sides. Depending on how you place the table you'd never see it. The top is while marble and it has some scratches on it. These can be buffed out by a marble and tile guy and frankly if you have perfect base and need an oval top the price is worth it just for the top. This is real MT base as its open and always had a marble top Dimensions are 21x27 1/4 and its 29 inches high. This is a solid black walnut. Heavily carved table attributed to Thomas Brooks back in the 1870s era. This table came out of a local estate sale, and you can see the really nice walnut pieces we got there on the site. This table has a beautiful white and gray grain marble oval ogee beveled edge top, and the overall it’s 38 inches long and 29 inches wide, and 29 inches high without casters. Look at the base, with its Brooks molded skirt along the side, and the base has extra heavy cut legs with excessive carving attached to the burl walnut trim.
