EARLY SHERATON DROP LEAF FARM TABLE IN SOLID CHERRY WITH SAP WOOD GRAIN For sale is this early Sheraton 1800's solid cherry drop leaf farm table in solid cherry with rich grain figuring. One leaf has an unusual sap wood grain running through it. The table is 30" tall and 41 3/4" open with its leaves locked open. We realize that we need to ammend this listing to include a few more of its measurements. At some point in its life someone made extensions to this table to extend its length. This required cutting two holes on each side of its end aprons. The extensions are no longer present but the holes are. Truthfully these were cut high up on the apron and they can't be seen unless you bend over and look under the table. We have priced it accordingly. Maryland(about 40 miles south of Gettysburg, PA) where I was an antiques dealer for about five years. I had the pick of the furniture in numerous estate sales and auctions. This is one of the finer pieces that I had seen. It is loaded with character to match its age. Which can be supported on hinged concealed brackets at each of the longer sides of the rectangular top. The legs of the earlier ones are square and tapered, but by about 1790 they change to round ones with turned ornament. 19th Century Cherry Drop Leaf Table(1840's-1860's) 60 X 42 X 28 1/2 with original brass wheels. I am downsizing due to retirement. I purchased the table in Waynesville. NC over 20 years ago, and I can't remember if the table originated in the Carolinas, but I am pretty sure it is American made. Table has an old refinish. Some minor wear and a wood knot as seen in the photos. One interesting note: The wood has a very inviting. Warm patina at night with low mood lighting. Candle light and fireplace light is even better.

Original Early 1800's 6 hinged Drop Leaf Table. Sheraton period style. All wood appears to be cherry and table slab grains matched/cut from same tree! All original with turned legs and mortise& tenon table frame construction. Corner blocks glued too with just one leg missing original corner blocks. Underside you can see original scribe lines and pencil markings used during construction. Six hinges total(5 original) with one replaced in late 1800's period. Wood appears to be cherry and was at least from the late 1600's growth era with a medium brown finish. But please check photos as some of these tables where made from American Walnut. Table top thickness just under 7/8" Hand scraped on underside center piece. Opened it is 49" long x 42" wide. Center top is 19" wide. One leaf is 15-3/8" wide while ... moreother is 14-3/4" wide& all are solid wood cut slabs, no splices. Height is 28-1/2" Legs are wood lathe turned from 2"x2" stock. Antique Empire Cherry Two Drawer Drop Leaf Stand, Table
Gorgeous solid cherry two drawer empire stand. Perfect working drop leaves. Nice finish on top and base, appears to be original finish. New drawer bottoms were put in and handles were new in 1935. New drawer stays were added as well. Stand measures 28" tall by 18" deep and 17" wide with leaves down, 35" wide with leaves up. It is made from very select cuts of solid cherry possessing very nice figuring. We believe its origins are New York but we have seen these made throughout Pa. While a question remains on its origins we are certain its a very sound table that a large investment was made in its restoration and refinishing.
