The whole top rests upon four multi turn spindle fancy carved legs with buttons and rosettes that are all joined together in the center with a bowl or finial type top. The white and gray grain marble top is in nice condition that has some slight discoloration that isn’t very noticeable. The table itself is in nice original condition. Take a look at the photos. It has all sorts of burl accent panels, rosette buttons all over the place and the base has big bold heavy legs with button accents and burl trim up and down. The legs are joined together with a center turn finial and end in porcelain wheels. There are few flecks here and there and a couple of buttons missing here and there on the trim. The white and gray grain marble has a reverse curve corner with skirted matching base and an ogee bevel edge. The overall size is 31 inches long, 24 inches deep and 30 inches high overall. There are no serious repairs needed on this heavy duty high quality table.

for sale is a great contoured skirted pieced carved walnut marble turtle top table. near mint condition with no repairs or missing parts or pieces that i can see. there are a very few very minor scuff marks on the legs. Just small surface scratches, if they bother you, you can wipe a bit of stain over them and they are gone. at any rate, a very well heavy made table of the high victorian era, all original including the casters. it is a nice size table, being 33 inches wide, 24 inches deep, and 30 inches tall. it has a wonderful finial on top of the stretcher. may be picked up at my home or shipped at buyer's expense. i have 30 or 40 tables in my house and need to get rid of a few plus a bunch of other things. i have the house almost impassable at this point. anyway, i am starting most of the things i am listing at less than i paid years ... moreago for them. i have always tried to buy the nicest things i could afford, so you will find most of the things i have in good condition and quality. i will be listing more tables in time to come and also i have 9 bedroom sets upstairs, some of which i will be listing. i don't use any of the bedrooms and have them stacked full of all kinds of things.anyway, excuse the rambling. good luck

Antique Victorian Marble-topped End Table
T his Victorian marble-topped table is 29 inches by 23 inches by 31 inches high. The wood has some cracks in it but the base is solid. The marble is smooth and beautiful. I previously got teh two tables I have listed mixed up. The wood appears to be mahagonny. I bought this table in Baltimore(had come from an estate) in the 1980s. We are downsizing and need fewer pieces of furniture. Also have another end table like this one but smaller and not as good of shape for sale. Also selling a Victorian couch. See separate listings. For sale is an antique oval coffee table made between 1875 and 1885 by Victorian out of genuine solid mahogany and Italian marble. One side of the wood has a scratch on it. But the other side is in excellent shape(see pictures) Since it's the same design on both sides, just turn the scratch towards a wall and it will look amazing! The marble is also in amazing shape and is not chipped, cracked or dented. Dimensions are 34 inches(almost 3 feet) long by 18 inches(1.5 feet) high. This table has an incredible amount of history behind it. Imagine Little House on the Prairie days. This table would have been the centerpiece in a luxury house of someone wealthy. It certainly has the heavily carved trademark style of Brooks. It has carving on every part of the base you can see, including burl panels, big carved leaves, incise carving, fluted tapered center columns, amazing carved skirts. The only thing I can see that is a negative is that the marble itself could use some bleaching or buffing. It’s 130 years old, so it looks period, and will look fantastic if cleaned, polished, or replaced. The overall size is 32 inches wide on the marble, 25 inches deep, and 30.5 inches tall. This gorgeous brown walnut table weighs about 80 pounds with the marble top and is approximately 26" deep/front to back. Approximately 35.5" wide/left to right and approximately 30" high/tall. I beleive this table to have the original finish. The detail that went into crafting this table is astonishing. This white. Grey and black veined scrolled beveled edge Italian Cararra marble oval top has it's original finish and is in excellent antique condition with natural occuring tan coloration and character marks normally expected with antique white marble. I particularly like the diagonal viening in the marble which is fairly uniform and straight for ... morea natural formed stone. This table is very similar to another table from another seller here on eBay. But the diagonal viening on this table is much more atractive than the marble viening on the other sellers table. The marble sits very flatly and securely on the detailed carved brown walnut oval shaped table frieze/apron. The table is raised on four X configured lower legs with ring turned spindles and a large ring turned center pedestal and center drop finial. Three of the four swivel casters appear to be original and one appears to be replacement with a brass swivel caster. This circa 1875 table is very well crafted with solid construction and is in excellent antique condtion with only minor wear to the original finish. The table has been professionally refinished at some point in the past and has a wonderful color, patina and look. Big beautiful slab of thick grey and white Vermont marble in super condition. Super carving and applied moldings to the legs and 4 wonderful carved female heads on the 4 sides of the deep skirt in cartouches framed with swagged drapes. From the headress and hair style, they appear to be either Egyptian or Grecian styles, hence the attribution. Antique victorian walnut and white marble with grey veining coffee table. This table was cut down sometime in the past. Not by me. It stands 21" up from the ground. 35" x 25" The marble has scalloped corners. The marble is original to the table, and shows wear. The walnut base is nicely carved and decorated. One of the flower heads on one side of a foot is missing. See picture. Also six of the small molding blocks are missing, only two are present. See picture. Antique Victorian Baltimore Rococo Marble Top Center Table Signed Merryman 1840
This is a fabulous rosewood Rococo center table signed by a cabinetmaker out of Baltimore. The bottom of the marble is stamped twice by Oliver P Merryman. Cabinetmaker, Howard& Fayette St, Baltimore. The table is 53 inches long, 27 inches wide and 30 inches high. It has a unique color of marble on it. The carving on the table, especially the legs and cross brace is exquisite. Around the edge of the marble is carved trim of about one and one-half inches wide. Two of the pieces of trim, one large and one small have been replaced and are well carved replacements. The marble has been cracked in several places and has not been glued. I figured I would leave this to the new owner as there are various ways to handle the repairs. There is a brace installed underneath to support the crack in the marble. The brace is quite old and may be from the ... more19th century. Regarding the background on the maker this is information that was received from the Baltimore Historical society. This is in response to your request for information relating to Oliver P. Merryman, a Baltimore cabinetmaker. According to Gregory Weidman’s Furniture in Maryland, Oliver P. Merryman(fl. 1845-1861) specialized in‘first class cabinet furniture’ that won top prizes in the Maryland Institute’s annual exhibition. Biographical information in Weidman indicates that he had furniture warerooms at the corner of Fayette and Howard Streets from 1847-1848. I refer you to Weidman’s book, Furniture in Maryland 1740-1940(Maryland Historical Society, 1984) for additional information. Merryman’s works are pretty scarce and I suspect this may be one of the best pieces that he ever produced. This piece is available for pickup in Daphne, Alabama at our shop. Antique Victorian Eastlake Marble Top Walnut Foyer Hall Side Occasional Table
This lovely antique Victorian Eastlake foyer/ hall/ side table features a walnut base with intrique detailing. Original dark finish, original white marble top with gray veining and casters on feet(while old and in place for quite some time based on signs of aged metal, the casters are likely not original because they are not wood casters, so it makes sense that they were replaced at some point) I believe the table is late 1800s, but it could be as late as 1900-1920(I can't find the original paperwork) There are no chips or cracks in the wood base, and the marble top is great condition, with no damage. There is one small light brown-ish spot on marble from where price tag was when I bought the table(see photo) but since it is on the surface(versus in the marble) and you can feel it with your finger, I am sure it is the remnants of the ... moresticky side of the price tag that could be buffed out(I never bothered to try) All four legs have casters, but one of the casters has a few very small chips to the wheel part. The table is marked underneath each shelf(shown in photos) and research through the U.S. Patent Office(on-line) determined this design was issued patent N0. 24,974 to"Luther von Grave, Inventor" on that inscribed date, Dec. 10, 1895(a copy in pics) The contoured brass legs display spiraling flowers alternating with leaves in a'rope-twist' pattern.
