It measures 36 inches long by 24 in ches tall with the lid closed by 20 inches deep. It features a remova ble storage tray and more linens. Beddings. And clothing can be placed underne ath for conv enient additional hu ge storage. It is a wood structure trunk and frame with smooth me tal(black) and woven pattern metal riveted overlays with beautiful beading to ta ck in metals and curved and straight gorg eousl y grained wood slat s. Here's what I stated about it s condition: Metal overlay surfaces have been repainted and restored. Some scratches and scuffs marks on beautifully grained wood slats. Leather handle missing on left side. Flip up side locking latches both flip up into locking position. But only one catches to keep it lock closed and the other is missing its catch. Center locking latching closes in position but does not lock and there is no key. Interior lining shows foxing and staining and has some t ares due to great age. But smells clean with nice scent like cedar inside. Truly a rare beauty of extra large size that has great looks and craftsmanship on evident in these earlier era pieces of exceptional beauty. It measures approx 25 1/2 x 14 1/2 x 17 1/2(LWH) and is in good antique condition. Made of wood and metal with small metal wheels/casters on bottom. Original drawer insert(needs repair) Original handles/straps are not present. Vintage Industrial Antique Dome Top Camelback Victorian Steamer Trunk Footlocker
This old steamer trunk has plenty of character on the outside and a nice interior. There is a large white paint stain down the front. The leather handles are broken, it is missing a stamped metal flourish, and there is general patina of age and wear and tear. That said, though, there is a beautiful hunting scene inside the lid and an interior that is surprisingly nice in relation to the outside. There are still some rips and splits in the interior lining, but it is almost entirely there. There is some mothball odor, but not unpleasant. The trunk measures 32 1/2" L x 16" W x 18" H. The trunk is 30 1/2" x 15" inside, with slats along either end to support a tray(not included) It measures 12 1/2" to the lip of the opening inside with 4 1/2" of clearance under the lid. ANTIQUE STEAMER TRUNK VINTAGE VICTORIAN HIGH DOME TOP CHILD'S TRUNK
During the mid to late 1800's trunks were being made with a dome shape top. This was due to passengers not wanting their trunks being put at the bottom of the stack when traveling. Medium size trunk may have been used for a child. The wood all appears solid and it looks all be pine. Exterior is wrapped in metal with wooden strips and mesh like fabric. The bottom of the trunk has wooden strips with metal casters for rolling. The trunk measures 26 inches long X 18 inches high X a depth of 15 inches. There are round decorative pieces of some type of metal decorating the top and front. The pattern of the canvas is called Mesh and Square. The interior of the trunk is thin pin with light brown paper covering it. Trunks made toward the end of the 1800's used more decorative paper inside. There is an old lithograph picture of a young girl ... moreon the interior side of the dome top. There is a tray that has a compartment that can be removed. It has a lid and a lithograph paper design on it. I believe the wood to be pine and I am not sure what material any of the hardware is. The lock will need a skeleton key which I do not have. ANTIQUE VICTORIAN STEAMER CHEST TRUNK VINTAGE 1900-1930 RESTORED SILVER DOME
Asheville Embossed Silver Dome Trunk 1900-1930 This is an attractive medium-sized trunk from the early 20th century. A solidly constructed dome steamer made of wood, trimmed with embossed silver tin, and featuring a lid with only a slight arc. It’s 30.5 inches wide, 16.5 inches front to back, and 19.5 inches tall– a perfect complement to any rustic decor. The trunk is constructed of a pine box with fluted hardwood slats across the top. Front and back. The sides also have exposed a refinished wood. It has been restored with thick black leather handles and a new lid stay to hold it open– otherwise the trunk and all of its appointments are in their original condition. A unique feature is the large original lithograph of an Indian maiden in a canoe that covers the entire inside lid. Which was preserved in the restoration. Although there is no ... moreevidence of its manufacturer. It was purchased at an estate sale in Asheville, N.C. and its design and appointments mirror those of trunks produced between 1900 and the 1930s. The bottom. Which has its original working rollers, has been cleaned, painted, and sealed with polyurethane so it safely sits on floors or carpets. The trunk is solid and clean and has absolutely no stale or musty odors. The hinges are tight and the lid fits securely when closed, yet opens easily. Although there is no key, the lock appears to be in working condition if the buyer chooses to fit it with a locksmith reproduction. The inside has been cleaned. Sanded, and finished with tung oil so it’s ready for use as storage or display. It features the original removable tray, which has also been refinished with tung oil.
