Dating to around 1910. This lovely quite petite table is constructed of solid oak and has a beautiful tiger grain pattern. It has a warm. Mellow patina to its honey brown colouring. The table features fantastic grain patterns to the top surface. Achieved through the use of oak planks, rather than one piece of timber. It also gives it a more rustic, casual dining feel. It stands on lovely turned and fluted legs and has a substantial shaped stretcher base. The table will comfortably seat 4, or 6 people if smallish chairs are used. The table measures 120cm long. 89cm wide and the table surface is 77cm high. The table is in very good antique condition. Structurally strong and robust. It does have some scratching and bumps to the table surface, but these only add to the charm and character of the piece, and provide that more rustic feel- very chic! The farm table is made of pine, which was common for a country dining table during this era. Four adults can comfortably be seated at this table and it's exceptionally sturdy for everyday use, given it's age. Description of item for sale: We bought this antique table in Flanders(Belgium) The entire base of the table is genuinely old(1800's) and the top is more recent. We were told that the base without a top was salvaged from a monastery in Ghent. A top was then fabricated for it using the traditional technique: solid oak planks joined and then fastened to the base using wood blocks that allow for top shrinkage/expansion. The system of 6 legs combined with strong stretchers make this table very sturdy. It is in very good antique condition with no significant damage. All of the woodwork is straight and unwarped and there is no woodworm damage. There is just a little dry rot and some chipping on the bottom of two of the legs(photos) that has no effect on the table's stability or appearance. ANTIQUE Farm Table Butchering Meeting Picnic Wonderful Craftmanship
The craftsmanship is wonderful on this old farm/butchering table. As I cleaned off the cobwebs and took photos. I was amazed at the detail that went into it. I do not know how old it is, but am thinking it could well be prior to 1900 but it may have been made later. The size is 29.5" wide by 8' It could easily be used as a picnic table. The legs at each end are hinged with bracing boards. Also hinged, coming down from the center. There is a very long bolt/screw that goes through the brace board, bends to run along side of it and goes through a hole in the leg where a wing nut holds it in place. A steel plate is around the hole so that it will not wear the wood. The brace boards lay in beveled wood block holders. It looks like the original color was the awful brown of the era and then the top was painted white at some time. The legs ... morehave dome damage/wear on the bottom but has been used for years as a storage table. The rest of the table is good although well used. I am selling this as pick up only but would consider shipping if someone will tell me a reasonable method to ship it. I have never shipped anything this large. American Scrubbed Pine Antique Hutch Table Rotates on pins into chair form Probably Pennsylvania c. 1860-80 Item# 130010MCA26 This is a wonderful work from the late 19th Century. Crafted in the Mid-Atlantic states- probably Pennsylvania c. 1860-80. It features a large scrubbed pine top, well worn and full of character, this dovetailing onto the large shaped cleats running perpendicular to the frame; holes in the cleats correspond to holes in the frame, through which original turned pins are inserted and allow the table top to rotate smoothly and transform the piece into a bench. This feature allowed the table to be stowed against the wall as a functional storage and seating device when not in use, then to be pulled out and enjoyed with guests when company is visiting; much in the same spirit of practicality that inspired the tilting tea tables, ... morethe hutch table found great popularity in the Mid-Atlantic and New England states for two centuries. This piece is almost certainly c. 1860-80, the circular saw marks on the original drawer bottoms suggestive of a post-1840 origination. The entire frame is through-tenon construction, locking the pine together with an incredible strength and sturdiness. Two lipped drawers slide in and out of the seat, these hand dovetailed front and back with chamfered bottoms that slide into rabbets along either side and are tacked twice in the back with square iron nails. Identical oxidized and rusted nails are found in consistent form along the back of the case under several layers of paint. The surface is very attractive. A later refinish that remains in excellent condition throughout; the top was left untouched. While many antique furnishings can be difficult to incorporate into today's home, this table is quite the exception. It boasts incredible character and depth in the scrubbed top, being of perfect size for any breakfast nook or sunroom. Antique Farm Table 4 Boards Primitive 4 Boards Over 5 Feet Long
Pegged. 4 top boards, sits 30 inches from ground, 65 inches long, 36 and half inches wide. Table shows some wear. Looks like cup stains in two spots, some fading in spots, all can be fixed easily, being sold as found. I had this table checked by three people. Two said its old and has great character, the other said it could be a composite piece. A composite piece is when someone takes old wood and recreates a piece to look as if it was build 150 years ago. I personally think its primitive and you can express your opinion. This table has been are family for over 50 years and has not been used for long time. Time to go! I stripped layers of house paint from the table approx 25 years ago and varnished it with light coat clear coat. Looks like it's the original varnish, I was young and not real experienced with refinishing wood but has the antique original look. Has the original scuffs and scratches under the varnish on top, underside old paint remains can be seen. Few screws where replaced on hinges. I believe this is oak but will not guarantee it, not expert on wood. Heavy table for size. Measures approx. 42" wide with leafs up x 36" deep x 30" tall. Antique Pine 1800's Primitive Farm Table with Drop Sides and Drawer
This antique pine farm table measures 76" long. 47 1/2" wide(31 1/2" wide with sides down) 29 1/2" tall from floor to table top, 22 1/4" distance from floor to bottom of apron. It is strong. Sturdy, solidly constructed with a rustic knotty top, time worn dings, scratches and age gaps appropriate to its age. It has turned legs and wood slides in the base to hold the sides in place when they are extended. The top and base have been'married' You will often find old farm tables where the pieces have been married together. The bases had to be replaced because the legs were placed in sugar water to prevent ants from coming on to the table. Thus causing the legs to deteriorate. This is a telltale sign that the table is truly old and authentic. There is a drawer for silverware that is accessible when the sides are ... moreraised. This is a unique and interesting table with lots of character-it has the original finish which has worn over the years and can be left in its original state or refinished if desired. This authentic antique wide plank farm table. Circa late 1800s, is in wonderful antique condition, with beautiful aesthetics, sound structural integrity and overall high-quality wood charm/condition with normal signs of wear from usage(i.e. some light dings on legs and table top) The table has four casters, in very good movable working order, and measures 46.75 inches long x 25.25 inches deep x 29.75 inches high(this includes casters) The table has a hidden drawer, which easily glides in and out for storage. Each of the two planks that make up the table top is one-in-thick and is 12-plus inches wide(one is slightly more wide than the other) I am uncertain of precise wood, though it is hard wood. Note: The only evidence of table repair is some old glue drippings. Top has a shellac or varnish on it Good honest wear to the finish on the top. Comfortably seats 4. Could seat 6, but would be quite tight. Good early southern table. Made of 100% southern yellow hard pine. And believe you me this table has some meat to it! It's awkward for one person to move. No drawers in the skirt to get in the way of your knees. Early 19th. Century Antique Farm House Kitchen Table With Flour & Sugar Bins
I have for sale a rare. Primitive/ antique Farmhouse kitchen table for sale it is I believe it to be very late 18th century to early 19th. Century. I believe the wood may be oak, it measures 47" L. X 26" W. and it is 29" tall. We purchased it from an Antique dealer over 12 years ago and has served us well. It has 2 flour bins, for sugar& flour, 2 cutting boards and 2 utility drawers. Condition. Table top is worn from decades of use, cracks, chips around the edges, varnish worn off. As seen in the photos the front left one of the flour/sugar bin drawer was not pieced together not so well by previous owner, it can be restored. has expected ware all the way around. The table is sturdy and not wobbly. I bake a lot so, I cut out a top for myself to work on, the table is just the right height for kneading dough and decorating ... morecake etc. You might want to replace the top or do like I did, make ta top for you work on it. I purchased it in an antique store in1990 in Ohio. I have never refinished it is in it's original state with all natural wear. This is handmade. The table top shows its wear and almost feels as smooth as glass. I believe the table may be Oak or Pine but have not ascertained the wood type. This is truly a wonderful piece. NOT a reproduction, NOT mass produced, but by a reputable furniture cabinet maker. The label is hard to discern but it is of an Ohio craftsmen possibly ... moreout of Marysville or this region in Ohio. The table is in good condition for its age but has normal fragility(the piece is over 100 years and has not been reinforced since it was in its original state and it shows no signs of repairs prior to my ownership, it would not be appropriate for heavy use but would be fine for a side table or very lightly used desk. AMERICAN SCRUBBED TOP BLUE PAINTED HARVEST TABLE Mid 19th Century Item# 1407FAE25P The top is crafted of three huge planks of worn pine joining eachother with tongue-in-groove construction with neat rows of iron hand forged nails affixing the top to the frame. The frame is dense yellow pine with what appears to be an early and possibly original blue painted surface. Though we are not certain of the age of the paint. The table is austere and simple in form and construction, not showing waste or embellishment beyond what is absolutely necessary to achieve desired clean lines- a thin beading is carved into the lower edge of the apron around the table. The underside is clean and appears to be untouched, each leg blocked with a pair of perfectly rectangular yellow pine glued blocks. A picture of simplicity. This is an absolutely delightful work ... moreof mid-19th Century Americana. The joints are as strong and form as stable as the day it was crafted- it is a simply stunning piece and will be cherished in any home of rustic appeal for a lifetime. This delightful scrubbed top American Painted Harvest Table is of a perfect size to compliment a hallway, as a side table or an occasional table against the wall. It remains mostly untouched after nearly two centuries of use, the finish having been refreshed at least once over the years, the structure still retaining all original blocking. The form is distinctly Neoclassical, the scrubbed top projecting over a neat frame of tenon-mortise construction resting on unembellished tapering legs. The surface is very dry and oxidized, positively magnetic in every way. It will certainly be cherished in your collection for a lifetime. Measurements: 36 1/8" W x 23 1/2" D x 28 1/8" H Condition Report: Extensive wear ... moreto red surface. Particularly to the legs and feet. Top scrubbed of color, only dry remnants of early pigment remaining, full of scars, gouges, scratches and abrasions- this is quite attractive, but certainly noteworthy.
