Up for sale is an Antique Black and Hand Painted Toleware Watering Can. The blue flowers and green leaves in the center are hand painted and there is a signature to the bottom of the design. The watering can is in fair to good condition with some medium to large paint loss and wear. Some slight rust to the bottom of the screw under the base and the base is also loose. There is some blue paint transfer from rubbing of another object along the one side. It is approx. 9.5 in tall by 16 in wide with the spout included in the measurements. Bright and colorful spring flowers/floral bouquet with gold gilt ribbon. Flowers are yellow and white. Light bluish flowers with yellow& lavendar center, and blue bells? dark and light blue and a bunch of yellow and white ones, etc. Leaves are dark green and light green. Finial matches daiseys in lamp. Needs to be cleaned with a bit of soap and water. All flowers are metal, base is pottery. Lamp is off white with sage green trim. All original. Vintage Tole & Brass Trinket Tray
Vintage Tole& Brass Trinket Tray.approx size: 1 1/4" high; 4 1/4" wide; 6 1/4" length. I don't know the age or maker of this piece. I purchased this piece at a antique estate auction in the 1970's and was told that it is made of tole& brass. The decorative tole is on the outside of the tray(tole was created from metal. Typically tin or thin steel) and the inside is brass. There are 4 felt pads on the bottom of the tray. There is"age ware" on the inside of the tray(see picture# 9) and on the bottom of the tray(see pictures# 8& 10) I took pictures in natural light and also lamp light to be able to see any imperfections that there may be that I can't detect. This piece is in good"aged/used" condition. Needs to be cleaned and/or polished.

Shabby Italian Florentine Vintage Tole Wood Romantic Couple Jewelry Trinket Box
This lovely antique Florentine trinket box has been in the family for many years. It was a gift to my great aunt when she moved to New York from Italy. It is in excellent. Clean condition for its age. The technique used to make this box is more laborious than others you might find today. The wood box is prepared. A layer of gesso is brused on and a layer of deep red base paint. The red base paint is used to being out the rich color of the gold leaf. The raised designe is a glue gesso mix, a little thicker than Elmer's glue, and hand applied. Once dried a layer of tacky glue is brushed on and the gold leaf is then applied to that. Often a coat of wax is rubbed on, or tinted varnish, to protect the gold leaf and give it an antiqued look. I'm very fond of this piece. But it's time to downsize and this gem needs a new home. This is a truly rare find: a shabby chic antique enamelware or granite ware or if you like tole ware rack from just after the turn of the century. Once upon a time nearly every French home had one hanging near the cooking stove. Ladles and skimmers hung from them handily at arms reach and the large bottom tray would catch any drips keeping the kitchen surfaces clean. The fanciest ones had beautiful hand painted floral motifs. This one's are little bouquets of Violets. It is signed on the back with one of JAPY'S signatures. It measures 19 inches tall by 12 inches wide and the tray extends about 4 inches. Although originally designed for kitchens I have seen them used here in France in bathrooms as a practical towel. Up for auction is a lot of vintage Florentine items. Included is a round tray- measures 9 1/2" in diameter. Signed"Leono Wood" and has the original"Artigianato Florentino Aram Hand Made in Florence" label. Also includes a Florentine wooden box measuring 5" X 3 1/2" and decorated with a green and gold Italian design. Also included are four Florentine plaques- a pair of matching rectangular prints signed"G. Vanghi- Florence" an oval Florentine plaque and finally, an eight-sided plaque with typical Florentine scene. All are in good condition with normal age wear- the two rectangular prints have some light scratches. A beautiful set of vintage Florentine decorative items.
