The sofa measures. 72” Long/ 29” Tall/ 36” deep(front to back) 53” from inside armrest to inside armrest. There are a few condition issues with the sofa. There is one button missing on the front of the seat. It needs to be re-set back down. Along with one other button cover missing from the armrest. See pictures. There are a few wear spots around the sofa. Mostly on the seat cushion. See pictures. There is a light mark on the bottom part of the back of the sofa. See picture. There is some dust/ dirt in the holes where the buttons are. Ive gotten most of it out. But you need a small brush or something similar to get it all out. Overall. This is a great vintage sofa with lots of character! Sofa is located in Pittsburgh. PA. Local Pickup is always an option! I am willing to ship the sofa via freight. The Vintage CHESTERFIELD SOFA HAND DYED true vintage LEATHER The Vintage Chesterfield sofa is a timeless. Marquee Chesterfield with all the hallmarks of crafting tradition. You may have established that the majority of our pieces are named after historical British Prime Ministers. but not this one. the Vintage Chesterfield is cleverly named- or so we think- due to the fact that is was modelled on a true vintage design(pictured) The Vintage Chesterfield matched the original. 80-year-old piece inch for inch, diamond for diamond, button for button. we even managed to replicate the old rusty legs and using a secret OSC ingredient. We fashioned out rustic, worn steel casters. The original Chesterfield was made in the early 20th Century and recently sold on Christie's auctions in excess of £14,000 alongside two vintage club chairs. The ... morebuyer wanted a second suite to match his stunning purchase, but to find something of the same style from that period was unlikely, so we were asked to craft a replica. And, well, that's what we did. Internally. This Manner 2( for more information on our crafting manners) has the same solid beechwood frame. Same fully coil sprung arms, back and seat, the same horse hair filling and hand dyed leather. To create the worn, 1900s feel, we hand dyed our replica piece initially with yellow before applying a second coat of chestnut brown, and a final layer of elephant grey. The process produced a finish that was not only original, but incredibly warm and satisfying. Our Vintage Chesterfield looked historical and in the crafting, it had all the hallmarks of a true Chesterfield should. The Vintage Chesterfield has a the typically low back and arms synonymous with crafting history. And with a the fully buttoned seat, there really is left no stone unturned in becoming the perfect 20th century Replica Chesterfield. The sofa lends its title from the 5th Earl of Rosebery. Archibald Primrose. Unlike our magnificent Chesterfield sofa, Primrose was the best of a bad bunch when appointed PM in 1894, according to Queen Victoria at least. Subsequently, Rosebery's government was largely unsuccessful. His designs in foreign policy, such as expansion of the fleet, were defeated by disagreements within the Liberal Party, while the Unionist-dominated House of Lords stopped the whole of the Liberals' domestic legislation. The strongest figure in the cabinet was Rosebery's rival, Harcourt. He and his son Lewis were perennial critics of Rosebery's policies. Vintage brown leather Chesterfield sofa - beautifully worn in
I just bought this beautiful brown leather Chesterfield for a client at auction. And now she wants a green sofa. It came out of an old estate in Upstate New York. It does not look like one of those shiny new couches- this one has an amazing patina and gorgeous detail work. There is a small tear in the front(as seen in photos) but this is an easy fix for a leather repair/upholsterer. Then again, many people like the worn look and would prefer for it to remain as is(without the tape, of course) I was looking around for other Chesterfields like this on Ebay. 1930's Winchester button tufted green sofa. In amazing shape for its age. The leather button tuft portion is still soft and pliable. No cracks. Tears or rips. The brass knobs are all there and still bright as well. The seat cushions are in decent shape. The center cushion does have some cracking in the leather but could be repaired if desired. The sofa also has roller style wheels on the bottom for easy movement. Payment is due within 48hrs of auction ending unless other arrangements are made with me.
