Up for auction is an antique wood mirror with gold trim. I was told the mirror is from the late 1800 to 1900. The back of the mirror has a wood covering. SIZE: 12 inches tall x 10 inches wide. Mirror area is 8 inches x 6.5 inches. CONDITION: Very good. There is a small hole at the top where once a hook was. It can easily be filled in with wood putty. The frame is very solid structually. Antique Victorian Solid Oak Mirror Beveled Glass 1800's Handcarved Primitive
Here is a early to mid 1800's solid oak mirror with beveled glass. For its age. It's in great shape. The mirror itself could use some attention but there are no cracks or scratches. The top left corner of the glass shows some deterioration. The mirror is still quite clear and vivid. The glass also has a couple of air bubbles in it. The frame is made of solid oak with nice joints on the top corners. The carving up top was all done by hand as is simple yet very elegant. The frame measures 20.5" wide x 17" tall(measured from the top of the design carving) The frame is approx 3/4" thick. It had a solid wood back that is nailed to the frame. There is no hanging hardware installed but you can easily reuse the holes from what was previously there. This is a really great piece that has a lot of stories to tell! For sale today is a medium to large size nicely restored humpback embossed tin trunk and the restoration turned out just awesome! The embossed tin is in a herringbone pattern and the tin is in good condition. I did not find any patent dates on the trunk and based on 40 years experience restoring trunk I would date this trunk to th 1880's to 1890's which makes this wonderful old humpback a 100 plus years old- a true antique. This trunk was structually sound when the restoration started and it has a good bottom. The metal has multiple coats of paint applied and has the two original wide slats on the bottom. It has the two original hinges that are heavy duty, tight and work well. There are 30 plus pieces of polished hardware. The trunk has the original center lock and it has been polished- no key. The lid closes well and a new brass lid stay was installed. This neat old trunk has a new custom built tray and the interior has been removed. A new black leather lid lifter has been installed. Stunning piece. Third quarter 19thc. Blue birds and Hydrangeas, hand painted canvas inside each of three frame panels. Moulding is delicately ribbed with two finials in tact on tiny bun feet. Almost square at 68" tall and 23" each panel(69" total) Paintings measure 19 x 60" Recently found in original c1850 estate.
