Up for sale we have a very fine Eastlake Walnut commode with rare veined marble top. The commode is in all original condition with strong sturdy construction. This piece dates from the 1880 and has all the drawers and door full working order. The wood has beautiful graining with burled wood right on the front of the drawers. The hardware is very unusual for a small piece as it has large brass backplates with lots of Victorian detail. The marble is a rare color and texture with little fossilized pieces throughout. There did used to be a back splash that was on the back of the marble. But like many of its kind it is lost. There are still some holes in the marble top that can be expertly filled and polished invisably. We will have this done if the piece does not sell on Ebay. Circa early 1900's. This rare Antique Oak Toilet is a fantastic historical piece. Measuring 18" long, 17" wide, and 15 1/2" tall, it's made of solid oak with a double-hinged lift-up lid and stands on 4 chubby wooden legs. It has a hardwood seat with a comfortable 9" diameter hole that rests on a wood support piece with matching hole. The bottom compartment is large enough to accommodate a chamber pot, not included with this commode. This Antique Toilet is in good vintage condition with signs of normal aging It has minor surface wear and a few stains on the lid. But can be refinished. The legs and base that hold the seat seem to be made out of mahogany. Check out how well fitted together the center multiple side wood pieces are. And just a beautiful look. Finish on the wood is still in good condition. I am not certain that the base was the original one with the wood seat component. I see other screw holes there that tell me that the pieces were not together originally and the stain on bottom of support board does not go all the way over to the mahogany column. So suspect the stool has been pieced together at some juncture. Still, a nice looking and functioning piece. The spinner adjustment still works well to adjust the height of the stool. Antique Trunk Charming Restoration! Patent Dates of 1869,70 & 77 Original Tray!
For sale today is a restored is a stagecoach style humpback steamer trunk. The restoration of this great old humpback turned out very very nice. The pictures do not do it justice. I found 3 patent dates on the trunk. The oldest is on the keyhole of March 1869 and April 1877 and May 1870 on the lid stay which makes this awesome old humpback as much as 136 years old- a true antique. This trunk was in good solid condition when the restoration started and the metal bottom is solid and the metal has been painted. There are two slats and four metal wheels on the bottom and the trunk rolls easily. The trunk has the two original hinges which are HD. Tight, fancy,work well and the lid closes well. It has 26 pieces of original polished hardware. Still has the original Star center lock which has been polished and there is no key. The mechanical latches ... moreare HD, fancy, tight, work well and there is a rising eagle embossed in the metal. There are 8 original solid oak slats in a golden oak color on the trunk. The interior paper has been removed and it has the original tray. All the metal is in very good condition. the trunk has the original steam bent handles that seem to last forever. I had no information on this piece.Nor a clue what it was so I made an appointment with an expert at the Stickley Museum in Manlius NY.He told me it was not a production piece,it's a one of a kind made by a Stickley factory worker.The brand on the back was used in the 1930's-1940's and was changed in the early 50's.He also said the workers did not have access to the branding tool so it must have been for someone in management,a worker would have lost his job taking some thing branded.He also said Mr. Stickley would have unique pieces made for Christmas gifts for special people.He had no clue what it's function was nor did anyone until I was talking to a woman at the museum who thought it might fit large and small books of matches.I took it home and and found cigarettes and matches fit.I can only assume that is it's ... morepurpose.It is 13 1/4" high,8" wide and 3" deep and is in perfect condition except for one tiny crack on the bottom of match side which appears to have been repaired though I was also told many of these types of pieces were made from scraps. Whatever it is. It's a beautiful piece and have found no evidence of another anywhere! 1860s cherry back and front bar / soda fountain - saloon FABULOUS STAINED GLASS
T his stunning all cherry and poplar front and back bar is from the mid-1800s. It was the soda fountain section in a large pharmacy is Beloit. Wisconsin. BOTH bar tops were quite rough and have been replaced with 1" thick SOLID CHERRY ones. They're actually much nicer than what it had originally. There were no sinks. Coolers or s y rup dispensers, etc. with it. Installing sinks. Etc. has been left for the new owner as their quantity, locations, sizes and types will be di ctat ed by the bars' use. Both the front and back sections have tons of storage with shelving in each bar bottom. The stained glass is gorgeous and virtually flawless. And both compartments light up. The gas light that hangs above the back bar's center beveled mirror has been electrified. Both stained glass cabinets light up as well. There are crisply carved ... morepanels here and there, rai s ed panels everywhere. And upright tu rn ed half-columns running the length of each bar section. DIMENSIONS: A very useable 8' 9" tall and 12' 2" long. Approx. 2 ft. is required between the front and back bar- for a soda jerk to work in- so it needs approx. 6 ft. from the stools to the wall. Excluding the st ools. All replaced mill work trim is correct. All 3 mirrors are beveled and new. It has been refinished top to bottom. And inside and out. All the hardware is new, correct, period style, solid brass. There are 6 high quality leather covered swivel bar stools that match the bar perfectly that go with it. We have a very reliable shipper. It is not difficult to assemble. NOTE: Back bars this elegant are few and far between, and those with matching front bars are extremely scarce. RARE EARLY 1900s ANTIQUE 3 PANEL FOLDING Lithograph TELEPHONE PRIVACY SCREEN
This auction is for an extremely rare very early 1900s antique lithograph three part folding Telephone Privacy Screen. These screens were primarily used in the 1900-1910 time period when the candlestick telephone was in fashion. The person using the telephone would wrap the three part screen around the telephone to provide some level of privacy during their conversation. The screen panels are made of a very hard wood or a very dense composite board material and the back is finished with a thick black"dimpled" or"stippled" coating. The highly raised flowers and leaves appear to be carved from the same material and painted in red. Green and gold colors. There are two brass hinges with four brass screws each on both sides of the center panel which attach the two side panels. Antique Trunk Charming Restoration! Patent Dates of 1869 and 1877 Very Nice!
For sale today is a restored is a smaller size stagecoach style humpback steamer trunk. The restoration of this great old humpback turned out very very nice. The pictures do not do it justice. I found two patent dates on the center lock of March 1869 and April 1877 which makes this awesome old humpback as much as 136 years old- a true antique. This trunk was in good solid condition when the restoration started and the wood bottom is solid and the wood has been clear coated several times. There are three slats and four metal wheels on the bottom and the trunk rolls easily. The trunk has the two original hinges which are HD.Fancy, tight, work well and the lid closes well. It has 26 pieces of original polished hardware. Still has the original center lock which has been polished and there is no key. The mechanical latches are HD, fancy, tight ... moreand they both work very well. There are 7 original solid oak slats in a golden oak color on the trunk. The interior paper has been removed and it has the original tray. All the metal is in very good condition. Two new black leather handles were installed with the original end caps. A matching pair of spool Rosewood corner shelves. Difficult to find a matching pair. With 5 shelves each and nice finial on three sides top& bottom, with what appears to be the original wire hangers on each. Looks to be original finish and no damage that I can find. Each measures 27& 1/2 tall and approx. 12 inches across the front, 7& 1/4 inches from corner to front edge. I tried to take pictures that show the beautiful Rosewood as best as possible.
