For sale are dark red. Salt glazed, architectural bricks salvaged from a house built in 1914. We know there are more than 8000(we estimate about 8400) but we are selling all of them as a lot as if there are only 8000. On average, the bricks weigh 6.125 pounds and measure on average 8-5/8” X 4-3/8” X 2-3/8” The bricks vary dimensionally up to 3/16 of an inch. These are salvaged bricks so some are in very good condition while others do have chips and extra character. Please see the pictures for more. Available for pick up as well as shipping. Vintage Cast Iron Mailbox with double lid and newspaper holder. Top lid opens to drop mail in and second opens to receive mail. this second lid also has a tab so it can be pad locked. It has gridiron peep holes to see if mail has been delivered. It also has 2 hooks at the bottom for large items or newspaper. The condition is used and is painted brown but could use a fresh coat of paint. Item has cosmetic wear but is fully operational and functions as intended. The right hook is moveable but shows no signs of breakage. This mailbox with hooks measures 16" tall. 6 1/2" wide, 1 3/4" deep. The back of this mailbox is a thin metal such as tin. This is the top portion oa a headboard from an old French caned bed that can now be repurposed as a header or architectural element for your home. This is an older piece of good quality made by the Sligh Company. It is wood with cane and has stunning details with an arched center. Below that is a wood oval at the center with a gorgeous original barbola gesso urn or vase filled with roses and flowers that is nice and thick. I love the cane on both sides. Which gives it a nice French look. It has the old original paint, that is chippy, and peely for a perfect patina. There is a little tiny break to the cane, as I show, which is hard to see. The dimensions are 3 1/4" x approx. 13'6" length x 7/8" These are great looking tight grained pieces with what appears to be only one finish. There is naturally some damage to the tongues and grooves from the removal process. But other than that these are ready for installation. Some of the rooms were only finished at the perimeter due to area rugs in the center(common practice in the late 1800's) and the first layer of carpet over the floor dated to the 1960's, therefore these floors have not been abused. Completely freestanding if required. There are 3 beveled recessed panels on each side. Inside each triangular recessed panel are raised beveled panels with multi-ridged round medallions. It weighs about 38 LBS, measuring approx. 61 1/4 inches long and just over 22 inches tall. 2 3/4 inches thick. A DRAMATIC piece of gothic architectural salvage!
