The results are stunning: the burl walnut displays a rich complexion and a stunning grain. While the brass swan neck pulls contrast beautifully with the wood. Each drawer operates very smoothly and features dovetailed joints, which helps to ensure long-term structural stability. The chest body itself is refurbished from its original circa 1960 condition, while the finish, inlays, brass hardware, and fine wax coat were introduced during this piece's reconstruction. As a result the sides, which still display the original wood, show some minor scuffs that were finished over during the restoration process.
