It is in good condition but does have some ... morecondition issues. I am unsure of the actual age of the dresser but would guess it to come from the mid to late 19th Century. It is made of walnut, with burled rosewood accents. The side mirrors pivot at adjustable angles. The bottom front of the dresser on the left side as you face it is broken off and needs to be repaired. Some of the original wooden drawer pulls are missing as well. There is a glove box inside one of the small drawers, and there are some spare parts that will be shipped with the dresser, including some extra casters. The dresser has white and gray grained round corner marble top with the insert in the center, raised burl panels on the drawers, big circular buttons on the middle of the large drawers, Victorian tear drop pulls, candle shelves on the mirror, applied carvings, burl panels and a beautifully carved fancy crest. It has the original old mirror showing minor silver wear.

It has dainty brass handle hardware which I am not sure are original. The keyhole escutcheon are the big round medallions. The candle shelves have heavy incise carved burl front shelf supports, burl walnut trim going up the mirror and the big crest on top with a doorbell looking medallion on the top. The mirror is bevel glass, which is normally straight glass. The drawers are all hand cut dove tail. The overall size is 48 inches wide, 21 inches deep and 90 inches high overall.

The white marble has an ogee bevel edge. It has brass cast hardware. It has a center medallion on the large drawer. The hidden drawer on the base is extra deep and has a burl walnut accent face. There is a slight cup where it likely sat uneven (1/8” dip) on each side. It is likely that you won’t notice, but I wanted to be upfront about it. The dresser is in nice condition with burl walnut panels across the top of the shapely mirror, across the dove tail drawer fronts and carved columns coming down into 45-degree angles, nice hardware, hand cut dove tail drawers.

The reason why it was called that is that the ... moreover length mirror in the center allowed the lady of the house to see the full bustle of her dress. This one looks like an oversize drop center. Dating from the 1870s, it has burl panels all over, hand carved crest on the very top, five different style shapely mirrors, rose quartz on the drop center and two top columns, four small drawers, one large drawer on the base and a hidden drawer on the very bottom. The burl panels are all picture frame molded on the drawers and on the inside of the drop center. It has oversize candle shelves. In my over 50 years in the business, I don’t believe I have owned this model even though I have had my share of drop center dressers.

It has the original cast iron drip pans, umbrella arms are intact, pegs are all intact and a fancy out cutout crest top with a tombstone mirror below. The mirror appears to be original and in good condition as well. The overall size is 42 inches wide at the widest point, 17.5 inches deep at the deepest point, 31 inches high to the marble top and 88 inches high overall. The size of the looking glass is 15 inches by 24 inches. The dove tail drawer has had a knob replaced, but I didn’t even notice it at first. It is in really nice original condition. Shipping starts at $325 for a driveway delivery in our normal New England delivery area.
