The rich patina ... moreand rivets attest to the age of the trunk. The hand forged handles on each end of the trunk are in perfect condition. The heavy iron hinges and latches are reminiscent of medieval iron pieces. The interior of the trunk is in very nice condition and features fine natural wood. This trunk is still in spectacular condition because it was built by skilled craftsmen. It remains a strong and sturdy piece and has no real damage of any kind. It measures 49 1/2" long x 28 1/2" wide x 20" high. I believe the original latches were altered at some point, but the trunk is all original and will be a fine piece for many years to come. This flat top trunk is the most highly sought after style of trunk and makes a perfect coffee table for any room. This trunk would make an excellent addition to any home or antiques collection.
