Circa 1960’s- modern Egyptian Revival period. Signed on the bottom. Inscribed into the clay“MMA” see photos) Included is a typewritten- printed page. That was found in this jar, with an explanation of the original piece that is in the museum, as well as the details concerning the reproduction of it by Georges and Monique Rinker, studio potters working in their atelier in Paris. But not often and usually missing the figural jackal head lid. This piece is beautifully modeled. Decorated, and glazed as you can see. AGE: Circa 1960’s- 1970’s CONDITION: Good condition. As shown in the photos and with the following noted: No hairlines or restoration. Slight glaze loss to one ear and the nose of the jackal on the lid(could easily be touched up or restored. No other damage. Light wear to the bottom. Note: The color of the glaze can look a bit more turquoise with indoor lighting than it does in my photographs.
