Circa 1900, most likely originating from America. The chairs have a light and refined presence. The set consists of six side chairs. The chairs feature shaped serpentine head rails with a floral carved and pierced central splat back. The chairs are upholstered in hardwearing silk herringbone pattern upholstery. To the underside of the seat is a pretty shaped carved frieze and the whole of the chair sits on elegant cabriole legs. This is a true set of chairs(they have not been matched together) and they are extremely comfortable. The chairs are heavy in weight; this is a further sign of quality. The frames of the chairs feature a rich walnut colour. As they boast the original polish. It has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and the years of care and cleaning they have received. Very nice three-drawer commode with Queen Anne legs and slightly stout proportions. Approximate dimensions: 39"w x 37"h x 20.5"d Very good condition structurally. No wobbles. Minor glue repairs needed along the top as the veneer is cracked around a couple of the nails. Small nick/missing bit in one of the feet. Top surface is smooth; it has some discolored areas-please see the photos for more details. Drawers open easily.a little lube would help them glide Handles are firmly attached. Escutcheons and mortise locks look good(there is no key. So I'm not sure if the locks work) We will be listing lots of antiques. Hathaway Company N. Y. Four large drawers. Two small drawers, with Dove Tail Joints. Several chips along the bottom edge front and one chip on the right side of piece. Their is a crack between right small top drawer and larger drawer beneath it. 5th picture from left side. It is not very noticable-look on the side of the chest towards the bottom right corner of the d rawer. 8th picture there is a crack on the back finishing piece. Measurements 50 1/2" tall. 32" wide, 19" deep. Overall very nice quality. If you are not satisfied when you come to pick up. I will refund your money.
