VINTAGE 1940'S ITALIAN ITALY ROMA ROME STERLING SILVER CRYSTAL ROSARY This item for sale is a gorgeous. 1940's vintage, Italian sterling silver and clear crystal rosary made in Rome Italy. The item has all 59 beads. Weighs 43.2 grams and is 29 inches around. The cross is 2 inches tall and 1.25 inches across. VERY nice. The cross is stamped sterling and also says Italy and ROMA on the back. The medal joining the 2 strands is marked sterling. One side is Mary and other side is Jesus. The Our Father beads have the end caps on each bead. Very good condition but the medal and the crucifix do need polished but will leave that up to the purchaser. Two years ago we received a gift from the family of an Army Chaplain; it was a vast collection of soldier’s donated personal effects. This auction is for a rosary from that collection. We will provide the Chaplains name to the winning bidder upon request. This rosary has a hanging length is 23 inches. And the necklace size is 32 inches. The crucifix is 2 inches long. And the center medal is 1/2 inch long. There is also a Miraculous Catholic Medal that is original to this rosary, and the beads are in a form of Bakelite, although we are not 100% sure(they are heavy and NOT plastic) We only have one like it. This is a vintage Rosary. The beads(which are all present) seem to me to be Aurora Borealis beads. They are rather heavy. The centerpiece displays an image of Our Lady with folded hands on one side. And Our Lord with His Sacred Heart on the other. The Rosary has its original tag from way back in the day that reads Alpaca- Italy. Overall, the Rosary is in good vintage condition in my opinion. When the Rosary is stretched straight out it measures approximately 19 inches long.

For sale is a beautiful rosary made with pearl looking glass beads and sterling silver crucifix. Central medallion and chain- both center medallion and crucifix are marked"sterling" When fully extended, rosary measures 22" long. Crucifix measures just over 1 1/2" long and center medallion is 1/2" long. Chain measures 32" from center medallion around back to center and measures 6 1/4" from the top of the center medallion to the bottom of the crucifix. Gorgeous detail on both the front and back of the center medallion. One minor link repair at the bottom of the center medallion- see pictures. A really nice piece in great condition! Gorgeous and perfect antique rosary and locket case features a guilloche plaque enameled in a pale blue with pink roses. The case is sterling silver stamped on the inside. The back has an engraved monogram"EMR" or"ERM" Inside is nestled a rosary; It seems to be sterling as well but there are no stamps or markings that I can see. The enameling is in perfect condition with no damage whatsoever. The case is also perfect. No dings or dents, just gentle wear consistent with age. The jump ring at the top also seems to be original to the piece. Locket measures 1 1/16" high and 5/16" thick. Rosary is 20 3/4" long.
