One of numerous antiques that I've had for years and this one has been a favorite! I purchased it at an auction in the 1980's from the estate of an elderly couple. The woman told me it had been her Grandmother's and dated to about 1900. I've forgotten what kind of wood it is but it's lovely. Some signs of normal wear commensurate to age. But nothing glaring such as gouges or significant nicks/chinks out of the wood. You can tell it was lovingly maintained, is solid and high end quality. The mirror swivels all the way around w/o issues. The drawer glides easily and the drawer compartment is clean. The legs are sound. Remnants of a sticker but that could be easily removed. Offered for sale is a Beautiful Solid Oak 7- Drawer Chest-on-Chest. Made in the USA by Sumter Cabinet Company. This chest was manufactured in November. 1992 and comes from a non-smoking home. The chest belongs to my son and was purchased when he was a small boy. It is in fantastic, excellent shape overall with the exception of two areas on the top where he placed a red wax figure that left a stain in the finish. I am too short to see the top since the chest is so tall, otherwise I would have caught it sooner. See pics#8, 9. The drawers are all very clean and the there is a stamp on the inside top drawer that reads, Sumter Cabinet Company, Sumter, SC/Korn Industries, Inc. Furniture Division(see pic#10) There is also an item number and date stamped on the back. Overall it stands 29-1/2" tall and features two 3-1/2" deep drawers on top and a lower 5" deep drawer. Very good condition with only a few small nicks from normal use. Antique pine Chippendale chest-over-drawer or blanket chest. Lift top covers a generous storage well and is held in place with remarkable old cotter-pin or snipe hinges. Inside. There is a smaller storage box and a drawer. There is one large drawer below with dovetail joints. It has two brass willow mount and bail handle pulls that match the brass escutcheon above. A vintage. Refinished, oak machinist chest with seven drawer interior and fall-front working surface. 12 Photos) The chest. 20" wide by 13 1/2" high and 9" deep, has all of the original hardware. Lo cks and handle.the clip locks are Excelsior and the fall front lock is Corbi n with the original keys. All of the interior dra wers are lined with qualit y green felt. Which may be the original.the felt it is in good shape, bright and has some minor spots in some of the drawers that probably could be removed. The leather handle is original with some repair. But in good, stable condition. The corner mo unts and clips are nickel plated and some of the plating has break through. But mos tly takes a good shine. The case has a wonderful. Hand-rubbed finish with excellent color with lots of depth. There is an old crack on the right top ... moreedge as well as an old wood repair on the left side of the case.both were left as is because I don't think they detract from the look at all. The main lock on the cover is quite unique and locks down for a tight fit. I'm told that these cases have many uses today.jewelry. Collections, fine tools, etc. and could be used for any of those purposes. The chest came from a wonderful, old gentleman that had been a master tool maker and this was his case that held his best specialty tools.he was pleased that another generation would be able to appreciate it. STATTON TRUTYPE AMERICANA OXFORD ANTIQUE CHERRY 4 DRAWER BACHELOR CHEST
This auction is for a super nice solid antique oxford cherry wood 4 drawer bachelors chest by Statton Trutype Americana furniture company. This chest is 41 1/2"wide X 35 1/2" high and has 4 drawers. Two top drawers that are 4 1/2" deep and two bottom drawers that are 5 1/2" deep. These drawers all have dovetail joints and are in great condition with no breaks. Loose joints or repairs that have been done of anykind and also are not missing any hardware. The pull handles on this chest all have the Americana eagle or bird design on them with the three stars above and are all complete and attached but do show some fadeing and ware in the brass finish. There is also a decorative brass key hole in the center of each drawer that looks great. Inside the top drawer is the burn stamp that reads STATTON TRUTYPE AMERICANA. There is ... morealso a tag on the back that reads ORDER# 10969. RECIEVED DATE oct. 11, 1966. Oxford Antique Cherry. There is also a marking on the back of the chest itself that reads OXFORD ANTIQUE CHERRY. This is a super nice chest as can be seen in the pictures but does show some minor sunfade as well as some minor light scratches on the top but nothing bad. There have been no repairs done to this chest at all but it does appear to have had some touch up stain applied at some time. Looks great! Country or primitive style pine commode. Stained a beautiful deep brownish red. Overhanging top hinges open and is secured with a leather strap. Small drawer in top section. Bottom section has a door with a wooden knob that also opens on a large storage space. Valanced skirt. No maker's mark. Although this piece does seem to have some age. I haven't been able to determine exactly when it was made. Piece is 30 1/4 inches tall. 29 1/4 inches wide and 17 1/4 inches deep. Commode is in very good condition. Very nice Empire 5-drawer dresser or chest with burl walnut veneer. This piece is solid. Clean and tight. Drawers are made of single-board, poplar(the grain in some boards is curly) with hand-planed bottoms,and handmade dovetail joints, Each drawer has a pair of turned, solid wood knobs. Top pair of drawers are large and deep with beautifully crafted ogee faces. Drawers do not stick at all and operate smoothly. Overall dimensions of piece are 43 inches wide by 21-3/8 inches deep by 44-3/4 inches tall. There is a charred spot on the top where a kerosene lamp tipped over burned the wood. There are a few small knicks on the edge of the veneer and has been repaired on one drawer face(see photos) Local pick up only.

Miniature 3 drawer chest. All drawers are hand dovetailed at front and rear of the drawers. Top is solid mahagony. Drawer fronts are solid mahagony. Sides are mahagony veneer. The drawer pulls are original. The piece has the lovely patina of antique furniture that has never been refinished. The drawers have been opened and closed so few times that the drawer runners do not even show any wear. The chest and all drawers are solid and free of repairs. In short. This piece is in excellent condition. I am not an expert on dating furniture, but based on oxidation of the back, bottom and the secondary wood in the drawers, I would guess that it was made between 1890 and 1910. The dimensions are: 10 1/2 inches tall. 11 3/8 inches wide and 8 3/4 inches deep. I purchased this piece at an estate auction in the mid 1970's. Antique Four Drawer Chest _owned by Ann McCoy
This is a very sweet little four drawer chest in the original black paint. The wooden pulls may not be original. But Ann says it was as she found it long ago in Pa. She brought to Maine and put it in her rental antique space where I too rent space. Scuttlebutt Antiques in Warren Maine,She had wonderful items in her glass showcase as well as larger pieces on the floor. I bought several items from her. Ann B. McCoy(Ann Wyeth McCoy's daughter) was able to give details to me regarding chest.This chest has a great look to it with wonderful cut outs. The chest shows apporiate wear and one of the pulls on the drawer has a portion missing. The size is 21 inches tall. 14 inches deep, 19 1/2 wide. One side has a age crack in the wood the runs the length of the chest. Please make sure to see photo#2 for the condition of the back of the chest.
