I think the wood could be walnut the more I look at it in this dark finish. The overall size is 21 inches square and 35 inches high overall. Each section is 10 inches wide, 7 inches deep, 11 inches high and 12 inches high on the bottom shelf. It is missing a few of the brass tacks, but overall it is complete. The bottom of one of the sections has a crack and oval stain, which has no effect on the bookcase. Shipping starts at $185 for a driveway delivery in our normal New England delivery area.

Made in England, Victorian era, Circa 1890, Mahogany, Hidden drawer, Carved leg, Dovetailed drawer, Some normal wear to top, Age splits and old repairs to apron, A wonderful antique specimen from England around 1890. This hall table was probably once used as a washstand. But today would function perfectly in a foyer, entryway, hallway, or stairwell. The mahogany has a particularly nice patina to it that can only come with age. The piece features a hidden drawer in the middle for a little bit of storage room. The nicely carved front leg gives the table some pizazz while the clean lines of the piece don't over do it. The drawer is dovetailed, a sign of high quality craftsmanship. There are a few age splits and old repairs in the apron shown in the photos. These are purely cosmetic phenomenon and do not affect the structural integrity of the piece. The top also shows wear marks consistent with age and has a faded ring to the right side. Overall the table is quite sturdy and would make a wonderful addition to any home. The top is a beautiful patinated mahogany. It is in good condition. You can see the slight ring to the right side. The top does show signs of wear consistent with age in the form of tiny dings all over the surface some of which can be seen here. The wonderfully carved leg is supportive and good looking. The hidden drawer pulls out to reveal some storage space. The drawer is dovetailed. A sign of high quality craftsmanship. Both sides have similar slight age separations and repairs on the apron. antique victorian mahogany heavily carved dresser mitchell & rammelsburg empire
ebay allows 12 pictures. for this piece that is not nearly enough to do a decent job in describing and showing it. at any rate. Here is a wonderful antique serpentine front dresser most likely by mitchell and rammelsburg. if not by them, someone equally as gifted in furniture making. the dresser is mahogany and stands 94.5 inches tall on its original porcelain casters. it is 49 inches wide and 24 inches deep. it has 4 drawers. the one at the bottom does not appear to be a drawer. it was crafted to be a hidden drawer. there are no pulls on it and it is carved differently to appear as the bottom splash board of the dresser. the dresser is quite heavy, the drawers are well made with the front serpentine boards being about 1.25 inches thick. notice the joints of the drawers, all hand cut dovetails which date the piece to circa 1870-1880. it has ... morea large mirror harp as you can see that is pierced carved and has candle stands, finials, crests, and other nice details that make this a very desirable dresser. the mirror is arch shaped and shows some smokiness and a little silver loss. the mirror is actually in better condition than most. i do not know if the mirror is original but the backing appears to be. at the base of the mirror harp on each side is a nice glove box with a drawer that is hand carved dovetails. i forgot to get pictures of these with the drawers open, nor did i show the four drawers of the dresser open as i ran out of picture spaces allowed by ebay. the drawers all open with ease and each drawer is designed for its specific space. i have a book that is dated 1991 that lists a dresser like this but not as nice for 2250.00. it has great form and beauty, the front of the dresser corners are especially nice. the marble is original and is in great condition for its age. any questions please ask and if you want more pictures i have several and would be glad to supply them, again just ask for what you want. the dresser may be picked up at my home or shipped at buyer's expense. i know the pictures are bad, i

We had to re-glue and re-spray the top, which had split over the years, and now it matches perfectly with the rest of the patina. It has four little dainty handcut dovetail drawers on the top, which we call ditty boxes, for ladies’ pieces of jewelry. There is also a little swivel mirror in the center that’s in great condition, and a lovely beveled edge that’s not serpentine but is scroll-like and molded, and it stands on big, tall cabriole legs. The overall size is 45 inches wide, 24 inches deep, 30 inches high to the base, and 58 inches to the top of the mirror. The mirror frame is 17.5 inches wide, and 24 inches high. The warm patina of the mahogany has a satin luster that would mesh well with most decorating styles. The outward bow of the facade brings an element of brightening elegance to any setting. The two-on-three style drawers provide a great deal of storage. All of the drawers come equipped with all-brass hardware and lock escutcheons. However there is no key. The edges of the drawers are ... moredecorated with a fine bead molding. Just under the top molding is a handsomely inlaid double end spear design done from satinwood string inlay. The piece sits on a pair of very sturdy shaped bracket feet. The dresser is around 145 years old and in good condition overall. The drawers open easily and shut tight. The brass pulls are fastened securely to the drawers although they are not original to this antique dresser. There is a small chip in one as pictured. The mold around the top has been repaired on all sides. There is also a strong repair on the front right foot. You will find some separation marks in the darker spots on both sides and along the front moulding. There are signs of character building wear on the entire piece and the top has a number of light marks and stains. The pictures are a great representation of the condition.
