Sweet! Very solid. Built like a tank! Gauge of metal is heavy, joints are tightly formed. Factory finish intact on the inside and backside is a mottled enamel. Size 7" wide x 10" high x 2 7/8" deep. In good condition despite the weathered appearance. At some point someone painted over the exposed surfaces with green house paint. Angled top overhangs the front surface by 1/8" so water can run off and not directly down the front. Neat thumb tab turns 360 degrees and allows unit to open. Front cover hinged at the bottom, mail slot has a hinged cover flap mounted on the inside and swings freely. Includes a pair of hooks for holding rolled newspaper or magazines attaches with a screw and nut. I attended an estate sale about 8 years ago in Little Rock. Arkansas. It was the estate of a lady who had been a very successful home decorator in the 1960's and early 70's. We bought the contents of her outside storage building and these were in that storage area. I have held onto them all these years. Trying to figure out what in the world they were. Someone told me yesterday that she believes they are the molds that you would use to press into the plaster or clay. Then when this is dry. this would then create the mold that you would pour the plaster into. I hope that makes sense and I hope that is truly what this is. Anyway. this person said she believes they are vintage. If not antique. But I will leave that for the bidder to determine. The largest one measures about 8" x 6.5" They are made of some sort of galvanized ... moremetal/tin. There are 4 of each design. They are fairly heavy. weighing about 2.5 pounds(all together) Condition is very good. no breaks or holes in the metal. But they do have some remnants of dried plaster(or some kind of dried substance) I have not tried to clean. I am just selling as is. Here is a suite of metal cabinets that were removed from a 1950's-era kitchen. Made by'American Kitchens' There is a sink with base, as well as(5) upper cabinets in different sizes. These will need a bit of work to be refinished, as there are some dents and rust present. The sink top is a stamped steel piece(not cast iron) with a porcelain enamel finish. All of the cabinets have a wood-grain contact paper on them, though it does peel off! The sink base is rusty where ... morethe water supply/drain was located. And the kick has some glue residue from the old rubber moulding that was removed. One of the doors is badly dented and one of the drawers has a slight ding(see pics) The porcelain is in decent shape except for a small rust spot and a spot of missing enamel in one of the basins(see pics) The faucet trim is slightly pitted, and the spout looks like a replacement. There is no sprayer, the hole is plugged(see pics) The valves open and close freely. One of the upper cabinets also has a slightly bent door. But the rest are straight. Hi! Up for auction is this awesome old/vintage Gothic/Tudor style metal mailbox with attached paper holder-in"as-found" condition-while there is some rust. This piece is fully functional. The front door opens, as does the letter slot. There is a hook on the right side with a hole for a lock to slide through. There is no maker's mark that I could find. I have done nothing to this piece save a bit of dusting-there are several layers of paint(black, brown, white, various greens)I'm sure it was originally black with a brass"frame" around the peephole/window in the front. Someone attempted to give it a shabby/cottage style look. There is a factory hole in the back for hanging. There are four raised squares running down each side and some across the top for decoration. It measures(from the top of the box to the end of ... morethe paper holder legs) 15 1/2"the box itself is 10" long; it is 6 3/4" wide and 2 3/4" deep. It can be left as is, but I think it would be a nice little pre-spring restoration project for someone who needs something to do besides watch more snow fall.This mailbox could be put back into service or used purely as a decorator piece-the paper holder could cradle an umbrella, a sign, or even a small container of seasonal flowers-lots of possibilities.hope someone likes it! Old Antique Vintage Farm Grain Silo Conveyer Belt with 3 Scoop Metal Buckets
This is from an 100+ year old farm near where I live in Oregon. The last picture shows the 2 large wooden pulleys that were used to move these conveyor belt mounted"scoops" from the floor of the barn to a feed silo. The scoops would fill at the bottom and when they reached the top pulley they would flip for the ride down. Emptying the grain into the silo. The farm has fallen into disrepair, the equipment has sat idle for decades. I aquired the pulleys and the belt. But not before someone cut the belt into pieces, 3 scoops each. I plan on recreating the belt system here in my home, as decor. I am not going to use all the pieces, so I am offering a few here on Ebay. I do see another seller offering them as well. I will ask a considerably lower opening bid on mine. Your welcome. This conveyor was fabricated by the farmer. The scoops ... moredo not all match. May differ in sizes slightly, and may not be perfectly spaced. It was meant for work, not decoration. So, that aside, the piece being offered here is about 29 inches long, just shy of 8 inches wide. Please refer to the pictures, I have included a tape measure in a few of them. The belt shown in the pictures(not the pulley pic) is the belt that will be sent. At this time. I do not know how many I will have to offer here on Ebay.
