Available is a set of three antique solid brass altar vases made by Sudbury Brass- Goods Company. Each vase measures 11" tall and is 5.5" in diameter at the top of the vase. They are very heavy solid brass. Each one is marked on the bottom. Sudbury Brass, SB142, Altar Ware, Goods Company. Each vase has a metal insert that is divided into four sections to keep the flowers separated for display purposes. The vases are in very good condition with only minor signs of use. There are no major dings or dents- only light wear from normal use. They do need to be polished. This is a set of 4 antique. Brass candle followers manufactured by the Root Company. They are not in pristine condition, and have some wax/scratches/blemishes on them, but there is no noticeable damage to them other than the effects of normal use over time. They are sized to fit a 1 1/8" candle and this is even stamped on the outside of the followers. I've even used them on 1 1/4" candles and they'll barely fit over them, but pretty snugly. The bottom opening of the followers measures about 1.25" with an outside bottom diameter of about 1.5" and the height of the followers is 1.8" In looking at the Root Candle Company's website. One of these new would cost you $41.35 EACH, or $165.40 for four. I will begin bidding on these at less than 1/2 the cost of new, with free shipping to boot.

Nice. Older incense boat that has been recently polished up. It measures 2 3/4" H at the tallest point, 2 1/4" W at the widest point and 4 3/4" Long. If you like the old, traditional stuff, this one is what you are looking for. The cute little feature of having the spoon on a chain is one of those features that the old guys were practical and sensible. They realized that those spoons are easy to lose, so they designed an attractive and practical way to make sure they wouldn't get lost. This one was a pretty common style that was used with many different types of censers/thuribles in the old rite. It is also of VERY heavy construction, with heavy, sold brass walls to the piece. The sockets are about 15/16" And that hold a 7/8" self-fitting candle-end pretty well. This is a set of 9 antique. Brass bove candle followers. They fit a 7/8" candle(They are"size 0" in the traditional old classification system) The bottom opening of the followers measures about 0.95" and they stand about 1 5/8" high. One of the interesting thing about these old, antique bove followers is that they are heavy around the bottom because there is a bead of lead to hold them down and make them"follow" well. It is kind of amusing, because they must have not had a mechanized process to put that in these in the days that these old ones were made. Some have a very heavy bead of lead, others less so. They are not all an exact standard weight like things produced today- these are the old, old ones. I don't think the new ones are done in the same way and probably don't have the weight in the ... morebottom that these do. Found this beautiful antique Catholic Last Rites- Communion box at a local estate sale. The brass arms that hold the candles are removable if you wish and do pivot in or out. The pieta is some type of chalkware statue- I tried to get a close up but I was taking pictures outside so the sun reflecting off the glass did not help! Measures 22" tall x 12 1/2" wide x 4" deep. There was a note in the fold down communion box about how the person came to have this and it is estimated that it is from 1910-1920. Beautiful wood! This fine antique George V sterling silver communion set consists of a chalice and paten. The chalice has a plain circular rounded bell shaped form onto a knopped pedestal and stepped spreading hexafoil shaped foot. The foot of this impressive chalice is ornamented with a floral motif to one panel. The knop to the stem is encircled with applied rope twist style borders. The drinking vessel and underside of the paten retain the original gilding. The paten has a subtly convex circular form and is embellished with the contemporary engraved initials‘ihr’ This impressive set retains the original ... moredrip cloth ornamented with an embroidered cross-patonce. Antique 1843 AMERICAN POLYGLOTT BIBLE, BOSTON 5 3/8" X 3 3/4 " Pocket Size
This is a remarkably intact. Very small, lightweight AMERICAN Polyglott Bible published in BOSTON, Mass. in 1843. This little Bible was well used by its owner whose name is on the front cover and thumb print has rubbed a light spot into the very soft leather. It is very comfortable to carry in one hand or pocket because it is only 5 3/8 inches long, 3 3/4 inches wide, 1 1/2 inches thick and weighs 10.2 oz. The owner's name, on a leather panel centered on front cover, says"ABBY G. RUSSELL" and its reddish color adds interest to this little antique book. There are no other writings or markings in the book. The front cover appears to be bent in the photos but is actually very flat. Scotch tape was applied to the back of the cover at one time for reinforcement. This little Bible was published at a time that other American versions ... moreof the Polyglott Bible were beginning to be published. Earliest ones were generally published in the New England states. This is the only one I've seen that was published in BOSTON so it is quite RARE in that respect. It is leather bound in an extremely SOFT leather and it has gold trim on the spine along with title. It has two engravings in the front introductory pages. On the back of one of the engravings there may have been a third. Small engraving. The tissue page, though discolored, is still in place. Most pages are evenly colored though are generally a brown tone with age. This Polyglott Bible contains the Old Testament(856 pages) and New Testament(239 pages) excluding title and end pages. ANTIQUE GLASS HOLY WATER BOTTLE WITH ORIGINAL PEWTER SPRINKLER TOP Circa 1900 This is a clean. Beautiful very old glass holy water vessel complete with original pewter sprinkler top. This clear glass bottle is classic with all of its imperfections. Please study the photos to get the full effect of the glass. Look closely for the glass bubbles. It is hard to see in the photos but there is a hint of iridescence in the glass and the glass is thick. Typical of this period. There are no chips or cracks. It measures approx. 1 ¾” thick x 2 5/8” wide x 2 9/16” high. The lip measures approx. 7/8” in diameter I have read a little on the subject and am no bottle expert. I have listed these features to help you determine the age although my best guess would be late Victorian. Early Edwardian period: No pontel· Tooled finish· Seamless cup ... morebottom mold· Mold-formed air vent bumps on front. Reverse and bottom· Embossed Cross and words“HOLY WATER” Raised side patterns hides a seam that extends up the neck. Fades out and has a hint on the underside of the lip· Tapered bore The stopper is made of pewter. The crown shaped top twists counter-clockwise a full turn and allows the water to be sprinkled. It is in good working order and very nice condition. There is a cork sleeve on the stopper which may be original. The piece is in very good workable condition with some clouding inside the bottle. These sick call boxes or miniature altars were kept on hand for when a pries made a house call in the case of sickness or near death. I believe this to be circa 1909. This one still has the cross or crucifix. Palm, plate(communion) spoon and cloth(for polishing? in the little box that opens. When that little box is open, the ornate candle holders can be seen and used. The upper box contains a colored chalk statue of Mary or the Blessed Mother holding her dead son(Jesus) in her lap. The glass in painted. On the bottom of the picture of the last supper. It has the name of all apostles. It also says Blessed Be Thy Holy Name and IHS. This fabulous antique which measures 23X13X4. Antique Religious Cabinet World War RARE/Unique Chaplains Field Holy Mass Altar
Tons of historic character in this wonderful set! Nothing is perfect. Everything has been well loved& used over the years, so it you want pristine old items, this set is not for you, but more for a history buff of war items or holy treasures. I took a dozen photos and tried to inlcude everything, as well I need all these pictures to help me in my description in case I happen to miss something(so be sure to look closely at all of them) The wood cabinet appears to be oak, the top having dovetailed corner construction, embellished with 2 brass/brass tone colored crosses, and the interior is more military hue in nature. Holy box sets were made for traveling priests and also for the faithful to be used as an altar for prayer or for sick friends& loved ones whom were on their death bed. This holy cabinet design is more difficult to find, ... moreand even more rare with this type of history! Chaplains used these box kits in the field for last rites and holy mass for soldiers(and this one from various wars perhaps) Additional faith items have been collected along the way, over time,containing different ages/eras(some items not as old or worn as others) which makes this set so special. Aside from wear under/on the bottom of the cabinet, overall it is in pretty good condition for its age, whose design& construction appear to date from the late 1800's, as well as the crucifix candelabra(1 candlecup has a chipped area, IHS paten/plate, holy water sprinkler handles(with worn/shortened bristles) a holy cup/spoon with cross embellished handle-all silverplating on items is worn due to external conditions in the field and left with original patina without any attempt to clean/polish/restore) and the ornately encased Holy Water IHS bottle(glass was repaired at some point) a bible hand inscribed with the date 1895, and lastly a very old civil war era glass photo with wear to image of the corner(last pic shows how thick the glass is) There are 2 black beaded rosaries. SIGNED FRENCH ART NOUVEAU RELIGIOUS PLAQUE. This is a stunning piece of religious art mounted beautifully and signed. The plaque is white mettle which has been silver and gold plated. The medal is mounted beautifully on a leather and wood base which matches the ornate style of the plaque. Both the plaque and mount have a lovely old patina to them and are in good condition. With some ware and tare on the mount. The plaque is dated 1915 and signed A. Sales. The back is easel style but the ribbon has broken so it doesn't stay up but it can be hung on a wall or be repaired.
