Up for auction are 3 antique/vintage cast iron claw feet for furniture. I am not a subject matter expert. they come from the estate of an elderly couple and could have belonged to one of their parents. Not sure of their history! They are claw shaped and have a glass ball. Each measures about 3 3/8" long and 1 1/8" across the opening. There is one hole on the side but no screws. They are a rusty orange color. not sure if that is original or they were painted that way. there is some of that color on the glass balls. I would like to first point out that there is a piece missing on one of the andirons- it's the piece that goes into the hole in one of the hinges. This piece does not effect the way you use these andirons. Nor their ability to stand. As you can see in the pictures it is not really something one would notice unless you're looking for it. The fireplace was imported from Italy by George D. Hale who built his mansion shortly after the Civil War. Hale was a professor. Scholar, and founder of the Hale Classical and Scientific School. Professor Hale was a graduate of the University of Rochester and a leader in civic and religious activities in Rochester, NY. He served as President of the Board of First Baptist Church for many years, was an active Republican and know widely throughout the area for his extensive library. He died in February, 1925 at the age of 81. The top portion of the fireplace is about 72 inches wide and 24 inches deep. Antique Mantle Wood Early 1900's Not Refinished
I am selling an early 1900's Wood Mantle as shown in above picture. It is competely authentic and not re-finished like some of the others you see. I am pricing this piece to sell as soon as possible because frankly I need the money and it's taking up a lot of space in my garage. I haven't taken measurements but it's taller than me and I'm 6'3" I'd estimate about 6'8" tall and 6' wide. This thing is huge and was a pain in the butt moving. It is heavy that's why I am selling cheaply and as PICK UP ONLY. Compare the price on this to some of the others. I have been selling on ebay for over 8 years now. But I've never sold anything like this and not anything nearly this big. It came out of a home built in 1898 that I own. The shelf is curved- very cool. It is made of oak and is painted white. It measures 60" wide. 47.25" and is 11.5" deep. The firebox opening only is 41.5" wide. By 35.5" tall. Overall. Large built-in china cupboard
Nice unit I removed from a large duplex in Youngstown Ohio. Wood is pine with an oak paint grained/faux finish. Good wavy glass and very sturdy. It mes.94"h x 47"w x 13"d. 4 drawers make up th bottom section with a windowed gallery in the middle. The upper section has 2 large doors with 4 shelves. There is a beaver board backing. I don't have any of the casing as it was removed before I got to them. Shipping cost will vary due to location and quoted price is for a 300 mile radious of Youngstown. This is a rare French Provincial Style clock.So it's very formal and could go in almost any room. This gorgeous piece can be a tall mantle clock or go on any table or nightstand or chest of drawers. Very versatile decorating piece that designers love to find. The clock is working fine. This lovely estate sale find is in perfect vintage condition. The face of the clock is gold and very ornate with Roman Numerals and thats where it's marked Louis XV. There are no other maker's marks that can be seen. This gorgeous piece is 11.5 inches tall at the tallest point and 5 inches wide and 3 inches deep. I don't see any scratches on the clock or glass face. Fine condition. Here we have an amazing cast iron fireplace surround complete with frame and door. It came from a home built in 1901 and mantle it was with was dated 1901 on the builders label. As you can see it has an incredible Outdoor Scene with deer and a 12 point buck and other very ornate detail. It measures approximately 24.5 inches wide and 30.25 inches tall(outside dimensions) It is in wonderful condition and will clean up nicely. We have an additional surround currently listed. For auction is a very beautiful oak mantel. The old mantel has been professionally refinished and is very eye catching. The mantel is 7' tall. 53 1/2" wide and 8 3/4" deep. Tte fireplace opening measures 35 1/2" wide and 35 3/4" tall. The beveled mirror is in mint condition and it measures 13 1/2" tall and 23 1/2" wide. The mantel has columns at the top and the half columns at the bottom really add beauty to the mantel. The columns also have a tiger looking stripe grain. These REALLY look like brass. But a magnet sticks to everything, so I am assuming it is cast iron. They are at least from the 70's, because they were in my Mothers house for at least that long. They are very heavy, and solid. Of course, there is some slight surface rust and signs of age, but no damage or abuse to call. I think they will clean up beautifully! The poker is a little bent, but nothing that cannot be straightened if it bothered you. The stand's handle unscrews, from the base, so I will separate it for shipping. That should just about do it!
