Bronze Patina Sculpture Statue Nude Young Man Marble Base Acorn Wreath w/ Animal
Classical male nude figure with an acorn/foliage wreath and curly hair. Slight smile, carrying an animal under one arm. I am not sure what type of animal, possibly a boar or maybe a goose. Go figure. I think the animal’s head may have been a separate piece that is now missing. The man has what looks like a tail sprouting from just above the buttocks. It looks as if it might have been a fountain but there doesn’t seem to be any internal water conduit. It could be fitted as a fountain with external water piping hidden on the backside. I am guessing this is quite old- the surface has developed a lovely green pa tina. Approximate measurements: base 10” by 17 ½” height 21½” weight 42# Weighed on a spring scale(bathroom scale) so could be off a little. The marble base has two tiers. Condition: A little dusty and grimy from many years ... moreof storage. The marble base is attached but not firmly– the statue has a little wobble if you wiggle it.
