Small Fancy Primitive Antique Carved Wood Architectural Pediment Piece We traveled an hour and a half South into central Illinois for a football game this week. And I took the opportunity of going treasure hunting in the cornfields. I found a surprising variety– there’s something for everyone this week! Here is a lovely small antique wood pediment piece for you. It's fancy. Yet primitive shabby at the same time. In excellent solid and sturdy condition, it has very worn and chippy paint- you can see white under the current coat and honestly, it's so dirty, it's hard to tell if the current coat is tan, or if it's white and just covered with dirt and dust- please see my photos and what you think. It really needs a good bath, and I do not clean or mess with as found patina in any way. It measures 5" wide at the base, 4" ... morewidest at the carved wood top, 7 1/4" tall and 1 1/2" deep at the sides. It weighs just over 1/2 lb. It's solid, carved wood and it's beautiful. As you can see in my photos, the bottom is not painted on the front and back, and the sides of the base were never painted either. You can see one small hole on the front left- I am guessing it's from where/how it was mounted. The paint is very chippy and crackly and worn all over- yummy! Stunning Victorian Era 1800s Antique Carved Wood Pediment Over Mantel Mirror? We traveled an hour and a half South into central Illinois for a football game this week. And I took the opportunity of going treasure hunting in the cornfields. I found a surprising variety– there’s something for everyone this week! The best word to describe this one is AWESOME! I took one look at it. And it stopped my in my tracks. I don't know if it is a part from a piece of furniture, or an architectural piece- but my guess is latter. It looks like some type of small over mantel or maybe over a mirror or hall tree. It's a stunning fancy Victorian era pediment that will be yours to decide, though. made of solid wood with a very dark patina, it measures 21" widest, 7 1/2" deepest and 31" tallest at the center of the top decoration- that's ... moremeasuring on the farthest spots of the outside walls. The inside(measuring on the inside walss of the front) opening is 16 5/8" wide 4 7/8" deep front to back at the lower unadorned half, amd 18" tall from the bottom of the feet to the"ceiling" on the inside top. It weighs a smidge under 8 lbs. It's in excellent solid and sturdy structural condition- with tongue and groove construction that you can see at the back- this is a quality piece. At the front bottom half, if you look at photos 10& 11, you can see two small nail holes on either side- so it was clearly mounted to or behind something on that lower half. The good news is that it stands on its own as it is- as you can see in my photos, and also that it's stained the same color there- although not varnished, I don't believe, but because of the stain, it really does not stand out to me- see what you think in my photos. The finish is in overall nice shape- with some scratching and scraping. There's a 4" long light shallow scratch the top left that you can see in photo 8. There's some other smaller scratches there too. That's the worst of it as far as the front/show

They did a really nice job of making it appear to be wood with it even having 2 imitation dowels at the top. In pretty nice shape as the pics show with minimal wear with a small spot on the chin and each wing has one small hole where it was affixed to something at one time and it comes exactly as shown. Antique Carved Wood Overdoor. Pediment Animal Forms: first of all this piece was hard to photograph as it is supposed to sit under the soffit of an armoire or mantle. It can also be used as an overdoor or pediment. The hand carved piece is made of dark hardwood, possibly mahogany. The entire piece is carved and has a bat like shape in the middle and two reclining animals on either side. The piece has been around for well over 100 years and has some minor abrasions in the front and nail holes in the top and back. Measurements are: 51 1/4" by 4 3/4" highest point and 3/4" thick.

Beautiful Victorian Eastlake Wood Walnut Pediment. Gorgeous swirl carving on top and bottom half medallions with floral cuts outs. Medium Walnut color with a matt finish. Two small dowel wood holes on bottom where pediment attached to furniture. Tiny chip off wood on top(last photo) with a couple dings in the center wood. Otherwise in great shape. Ready to hang over doors. Pictures or as statement piece. Been in my home for many years. Approximate Measurements: Total Length is 29 1/2" Across Top. ANTIQUE HAND CARVED WOOD ARCHITECTURAL FRETWORK -FROM AN ENGLISH MANOR HOME
For your consideration is a marvelous hand carved wooden architectural piece from England. A gentleman in Kansas City Missouri brought over carved panels and fretwork from England(apparently one or more deconstructed Old Manor homes) and applied them to his own unique home. It was like stepping back in history! This particular piece(most likely due to the breakage) was a leftover that was not used in his home. It is approximately 13 3/4" by 8" by 3/4" at the longest widths. It is roughly carved and has a whimsical quality. The wood has been stained dark-almost an ebony. But I could not say for sure if it was truly"ebonized" at any time. I do not know the age, but I do know it is very old. At least 100+ years(minimal) I would guess it much older than that, but I have no way of knowing. This piece looks lovely by itself, ... morebut could be creatively re-purposed! Rare Antique 1800s Victorian Embossed Tin Over Wood 39" Window Valance Pediments
This is a very rare find its three sections of embossed gilded tin over wood. They overlap to make it look like it's one long piece. This pediment has some of the most unusual characteristics I have ever seen. The header has a wonderfully carved serpentine top. There are very ornate side carvings, and then those round metal grommets all along the pediment. Looks almost Medieval or Gothic with that Victorian twist. I call this my"Rosey Rosette" Pediment since it has gorgeous wood floral wood carving on the front with fantastic rosettes on each side. Solid and heavy dark walnut pediment with burl walnut veneer trim. Might be Black Walnut? High sheen finish. Beautifully carved Walnut Furniture Door Pediment. This has been in my private collection for over 20 years. I call this my"French Fleur de Lis" Pediment since it has a similar design. Hangs great over doors or as an attachment to other furniture. Pediment is in great shape for it's age. Solid without repairs. Wood has a nice smooth matte sheen. I only use lemon oil to preserve the nature wood finish. Conditions: Wood damage on the back(Photos# 8#9) Small crack on top(10) Neither of which detach from it's wonderful craftsmanship. Both are hardly visible when hung since they are on the backside and top. Small holes in back to hang& small holes on each end to attach to furniture. Pediment measures 50" Long by Almost 7" Tall by Almost 1" Deep. Home is smoke and pet free so your pediment will arrive clean. ... morePest and critter free. Gorgeous Walnut Carved Wood Pediment Unusual"Star" Pediment. Beautiful carving through the whole pediment. Has been in my collection for over 20 years. Pediment looks fantastic over doors. Pictures, windows, as a statement piece, attached to furniture or even hanging upside down in a doorway. There are a few minor scratches and dark spots on the front with a small piece of wood missing but otherwise it is in great shape for it's age. Has a nice smooth sheen finish. Antique Victorian Wood House Fretwork Architectural Salvage Cut Out Design Listed is a circa 1890's salvaged two sided exterior wood architectural fretwork. Removed from a Victorian house in Central New York. I did not attempt to clean this item. Just the way it is when removed. The old paint on both sides looks like the color mocha cream. There is some paint chipping and great old paint crackle. On the right top edge there is a saw mark and the old pine wood has a very slight bow. Dimensions 11 3/4" tall. 22 1/2 1/2" wide and 3/4" thick. The wood is solid. No soft spots. Thank you for viewing. Payment is to be received within 3 days after the close of the auction.
