Majolica Art Nouveau Tiles (Set Of Ten)
Majolica Art Nouveau Tiles(Set Of Ten) These tiles are from my own house which dates c.1901. We found a number of tiles on two fireplace hearths when replacing our carpets. These tiles are in fair condition as can be seen from the photos. There may be some remnants of cement on the face of the tiles. And cement on the edges and backs. I am including the zoom facility on the photos so that the detail can be seen. I am not in the business of hiding things and I want everyone to know what they may be getting. Some of the tiles have chips, cracks, scraps etc- which is why I am selling these as a set. Two of the tiles have broken edges but these are included and do fit back together. I am well aware from my research that there is a large fraternity of tile collectors out there who know more about tiles than I will forget. So I am not pretending ... moreto be any expert. I am aware of the terms'moulded' and'tube lined' and have read a number of conflicting views on what these are. I think these tiles are moulded, but I will leave that decision to the experts. The tiles is 6"x6" and 3/8" thick. From the photo'COV' and'ENGLAND' can be seen on the back of the tiles. Could this stand for Coventry, England? I believe I have packaged the tiles well(see my feedback) as I want them to arrive in the same condition as they where sent! 4 Gorgeous Older Vintage Ceramic Tiles Chippy Shabby Pretty Flowers One FM Who-hoo- went to my first auction of the summer- it was a farm estate auction literally right down the street from me. The former owners had lived there since he had gotten out of the military after enlisting during WWII. And her family had been on the property for generations before that. It’s all farm stuff- household, barn, outbuildings, property- many items from the 1800s and up. Lot of old iron, barn digs, primitives and pretties- I’m so excited to show them to you! Enjoy! I have two whole boxes of wonderful ceramic tiles that I will be listing over the next couple of weeks- some have matches- I'll list them together. Some do not. This lot is a combination. I have two tiles that match(and I have no more of these) and two that do not- but all are veryveryvery ... morepretty. They are vintage for sure- the two matching ones I do think may be old enough to be antique. They, you can tell by the residue at the back, were used- and removed from wherever they were. All of the tiles measure 6" square and are about 3/8" thick. I'm calling them shabby in my title because all of them have small chips and damage to some degree- but none that affect the structure(no cracks etc. The two used ones are the worst- one of the tiles has a shallow edge chip that runs 2" at the bottom edge by a narrow 1/8-1/4" See photo 14. Both tiles have chips abd rubs to the faces of the high relief pink flowers, and teenie ones on their edges all around. You can see and feel the cement at the back that was used to attach them, and you can see that both tiles are heavily crazed all over. Next are two different tiles- one with a light moss green background and the other with light blue. The one with the moss green is marked"Made in Japan" on the backside along with a maker's mark that has the initials"FM" in the center. This is the only tile that I can find a mark on. Up for consideration is an old wall tile(I do not know when this was made) Beautiful vibrant colors throughout. Beautiful bell-like flowers on a mug. The mug holding another huge orange and yellow flower. This has an old black velvet-like board applied to the back with a hanger for hanging(the black backing is a little separated at the bottom) It may be signed but I did not want to ruin the backing to find out. Could be a hidden treasure! this measures approx 12 inches tall x 12 inches wide& 1/2" thick with the backing. There is some crazing and the colors are beautiful. in a couple very small spots, tubelines(raised lines) are nicked. Very very minimal and hard to see but be aware.There are a couple dark spots(likely from age) and a small popped glaze bubble(or a nick? 9 Antique Hand Painted Tiles Desvres made in France !
This is a lot of nine different antique tiles. These tiles are hand painted and tell a story. The names Rotbert, Willelm, and harolo are shown on the tiles. I do not know where these came from or if this is a religious story. They have a small amount of residue on the back where they were attached, but it does scrape off fairly easily. The front side is clean and clear with no crazing or chips. The tiles are about 6" x 6" and they are in super condition. The tiles are marked on the back-made in France' and Desvres.

I recently discovered this tile and others while digging for antique bottles under a porch in Stockton. CA. The home was built in 1909 and was slated for demolition. I believe I had dug up a trash pit once used by the original builders just before completion of the home where they had discarded left over materials. Some of the glazing is worn on part of the fleur-de-lis on the far left. See below for more details. 1950' s Ceiling Painted Wood Tiles From An Old Chinese Restaurant
Vintage wood ceiling tile that came from a restaurant that closed a number of years ago. It operated in Hamilton Ontario on Upper James St. It operated from the 50's to the early 80's. The building is still there but has been expanded. Renovated and is now a wellness, rehabilitation, chiropractor centre. The tile is from when the restaurant first opened to the public in the 50's. It is made of thin plywood, about 1/8" thick. Size is 17 1/2" x 17 1/2" The pattern on the tile is a textured and a bit raised. There are maybe 80-100 of this design if you are interested in multiples. Some of the tiles are stamped on the back"Taiwan B.O.C. This particular tile is not stamped. Shipping costs are estimates. This is a decorative cherub ceramic(I think its ceramic) tile. It has a mount on the back so that it can be hung on the wall. It measures 7-13/16" x 7-13/16" and is about 3/8" thick. The only markings on it are"made in Mexico" on the back. It isn't an antique. But would still be a good decorative piece. Due to the weight, the best way to ship it is a medium flat rate box. Ten Trent tiles that came from an old Victorian fireplace surround in Iowa. Each of the tiles measure 6" x 6" Two have large chips on the front. Two others have very small chips on the front. Fern green Glaze is relatively flat. Not glossy there are far more than 50. Counting the half-size pieces Please note: I have not attempted to clean these. Except one(with Magic Eraser) see pics- the clean one is on top of heap. Original. From house my grandfather built in 1914. Another note: when shipping. I will divide these between two Medium Priority Flat-Rate Boxes and add insura nce to both. A very nice Art Nouveau wall/fireplace tile. Tube lined it has a nice in-relief flower pattern, colours are a nice bottle green, light blue and pink on a light green background and colours are nice and bright, condition is good, no cracks chips, it has about six very small nibbles on top edging. It has crazing which would come with a tile of this age. On the back its has the mark of T& R Boote and the letter B on one corner. Size is 6" square. I will wrap well with lots of bubble wrap.
