Antique,Vintage,Wood Steamer Trunk,Chest,Ornate Brass,Eagle Lock Co.,1833-1954
Nice Old Antique Trunk. I am not sure of the exact age. But the lock on it is from Eagle Lock Co. Eagle lock was in business from 1833-1954. So the age of the trunk lies in that time frame. It is adorned with black metal trim and ornate brass accents. This old trunk does show it's age in places. But there is nothing major. A few nicks, and there are a few dents or ding marks in the black metal trim. On the top front you will see there is 2 areas of chipped or worn off wood, a small amount enough to where wood putty filler should be an easy fix if you wish. There is also a very small chip place on the side you can see in pic 6. One of the hinges on the back is missing one button, see pic 9, and there is some separation on some of the brass corner pieces you can see in pic 12. I think I have mentioned every flaw. But please see all the ... morepictures for the best description. For a trunk this old I consider its condition to be normal. Also, this would make a nice coffee table. the top is flat. This antique book end set is made of relief-sculpted cast-iron(with vintage bronze colored patina) with tin backs and they depict Abraham Lincoln reading a book with his son Tad(in relief. The front lower left corner of each bookend is marked“O. P. Muller. C1922” Sculptor Artist: Olga Popoff Muller) These bookends were modeled after the 1864 Lincoln photograph by Matthew Brady. They originally were marked with a paper label on the bottom"Lincoln Book Ends(Patent Applied For) Produced Exclusively by Decorative Arts League 175 Fifth Avenue New York N.Y. As can be seen in the pictures. Both of those paper tags have worn off and only remnants of the labels remain. They measure approximately 7" tall by 4 1/2" wide. You are buying these ... morebookends from the family of the original owner. And they always have been displayed in a cool-dry room. Cosmetic condition: I think each bookend is still in very good condition. With a dark patina from being 90 yrs old. No cracks anywhere. Please look carefully at the 2nd picture and the other pictures- There are a few small white-spots from normal wear on the high-points of the relief. The right bookend has a small 2mm chip on the top/front roof-edge, above Tad and 3 other small 1mm chips on the top of the right column, another on the center bottom-edge, and one small white spot on Lincoln’s right-thumb. The left bookend has a pea-sized white-tarnish spot on Lincoln’s shoulder, and several other small 1mm white-spots from wear on the high-points of his elbow, armchair, seat-cushion, and the far edge of the right column. In my opinion, none of these small defects detract from the vintage beauty of these bookends. The patina is rich, dark, and complementary of their fine quality. Antique Pair Western Parade Horse Dodge Bookends Gladys Brown Edwards c1946
A fabulous pair of western parade horses made by Dodge in the 1940s. The horses face in the same direction because they were designed for coffee table decor holding a few books together and fully visible in the center of the room. The engraving reads Dodge Inc. C. 1946. These have a perfect aged patina and beautiful coloring. One horse has the original felt bottom with the Dodge sticker and the other has a replaced felt bottom. These were designed by Gladys Brown Edwards who was a well known horse artist and expert on breed horse conformation. Please check my other auctions. I try to have more than one item at a time of similar interest. DESCRIPTION: Here is a fine. Though well used, old pair of English brass candlesticks. They have oval bases and each one is marked England at the top of the base, just below where it meets the stem. They have a classic urn form. One shows its age more than the other and both could use a good brass polish up. If one is so inclined. The other has some surface wear also, as would be expected. They appear to be seamed. At least partially. You can see seams under the flat wax cup and also lower on the stems. These do not screw apart, or at least I can't ... moreturn them. The screw cover, for lack of a better word, on the inside middle of the base, appears newer? One of the two has a lot of small dents on the under side near the screw possibly indicating work to replace that bottom attachment? These came from an estate sale and others I've seen like them are considered Georgian. Their surfaces certainly show wear. Use and age. Each one weighs close to 1.2 pounds and they are about 6-1/2 inches tall. The oval bases are just over 4-1/8 inch at their widest and 3-1/8 inch the short side. The oval wax cups are 1-7/8 inch at their widest. Please inspect all 12 photos closely. Use the zoom tool, the pictures are an important part of my description and condition description. This is a really unique highly artistic detailed copper architecture. It is very old. Not sure which room it came from in the old estate from northern California. It may have been on a cupboard door in a pantry or such.or a vent. The oak leaf raised relief design is such a work of art in itself. Then it has a raised pattern around the entire border. Measures 8" by 12" 4/8ths.1/8" thick on the border and 3/8th thick on the oak leaf center. I have not come across one like this before. It is copper I believe. Non magnetic and bendable. Not a thick piece. It would make a great centerpiece for a cupboard or framed to hang in your living room. I have not polished this and satisfaction guaranteed.

The casting is very well done and shows great details from the features of the lion's face. The details of his mane, the fur on his body, the paws, the details of the feather at the end of the arrow, and lion's muscle tone. The bookends have a brassy color below a darker green color finish and have beautiful details. The bottom of the base ... moreshow some rust and the color of the metal. This is a very old tankard. Most likely dating to 19th century, perhaps even earlier. It is made of very heavy and thick metal which I believe to be pewter and the surface is embossed with hunting scenes featuring hunters and dogs and this appears to have been done by hand. From what I have been told this tankard originally came from Europe. It is definitely quite unusual and it is obvious that it had been well used over the hundred years of its existence and there are signs of use. Marked with some kind of maker's mark or hallmark on the bottom but cannot decipher it. Please look at all the pictures to judge the condition. This is a wonderful pair of bookends. They are truly like individual sculptures. They are bronze with a marble base and celluloid arms. Faces and feet. As you can see in the photo one of the sculptures is missing part of a arm and her face. She is still beautifully crafted.the marble base is 4" square and they are each 9" tall. RectanguIar Islamic Mamluk Cairo WareTray w Silver & Copper Inlaid Script
This rectangular Mamluk Cairo Ware tray is the fourth of a larger set. It is made of brass with intricately inlaid silver and copper. To form a beautiful design. The center is a an intricate geometric design that I unfortunately cannot read, surrounded by other Arabic script. This tray measures 11 ¾" by 9 1/4" It is ½" deep. The patina is beautiful; there are a few spots from age, no other defects. The areas between the inlaid metal are all hand chased in different patterns. This could be a religious piece, possibly in Arabic, Aramaic or Farsi or another of the languages of the East. The weight is quite substantial, 2 3/4" lbs. The bottom is also covered in silver.

Beautiful Blue Baret Ware Tin This vintage English tin is a wonderful shade of blue– it’s bright and subdued at the same time. Lovely English floral designs. Slanted corners, the lid bevels up to an oval, and a decorated knob crowns the whole thing. The tin was made by Baret Ware. The tin has some vintage wear and patina. There are some small areas of wear. Some scratches and scuffs, handling marks and soiling, some small dents and dings, etc. The oval on the lid is worn dark. And the gold trim/border on upper base is worn very dark in many places. Lid is a bit more soiled/darker than base. A little bit of early rust around interior crevice, possibly starting elsewhere here and there on tin. Opens/closes fine with slight coaxing, as is typical with eight-sided tins. Again. Fantastic Arts & Crafts Hammered Copper Tray!
Up for auction is a great hammered copper tray from the Arts& Crafts era! Unfortunately it is not marked. But it is still a fantastic display piece for your bungalow! It is all one solid piece! I had some antique leather gloves displayed on this for years and they left that weird black spotting. A lot of it came off with a light wash, but I didn't try anything else to remove the rest. I'm not familiar with what to try and I didn't want to ruin the beautiful patina that this has. It is not as shiny as the pictures would suggest, but was photographed directly under a light. Each candelabra is adorned with glass or crystal(not sure) flowers followed by 2 1/2 inch long prisms and the candle base is surrounded by double strung glass multifaceted prisms. Towards the bottom center arm of both candelabras. There are two holes where glass prisms are missing. This can easily be replaced with new ones of your choice. The object bears the golden"FBW" mark(Fritz Bermann Wien) Very beautifully painted with a lot of love for the details. The object is 47mm wide. About the production of these miniatures The material of the object is brass. Achieving such a high level of detail requires a very complex and time intensive production process: At the beginning moulds of wax were created. Including drains for air and melted brass. All that was covered with clay. The mould was dried and fired. At the same time the wax melted and created a hollow space which was later filled with molten bronze. After casting and cooling the ceramic mould was destroyed and the brass core removed. The drains were then ... moretaken off and the whole surface was engraved by hammer and punch followed by the very costly and detailed painting.
