This is an unusually beautiful 5-decade. Sterling silver and 59 faceted blue aurora borealis crystal bead rosary in a vintage Whiting and Davis silver mesh rosary envelope. The rosary has an approximate hanging length of 24 inches including the 2 inch crucifix that is marked A. Gale Inc. Sterling on the lower side of the cross. The same marking is on the back of the Blessed Mother medallion. The rosary weighs more than 63 grams excluding the case. An estate find. This is an exceptionally beautiful high quality rosary in very good condition- one that was saved for special occasions. The case still has the original label and is clean with few signs of wear. Listing: This listing is for a great antique french rosary. It has solid sterling chain holding it together and sterling caps on the larger beads. The centerpiece shows the true age of the rosary and probably dates to the 1800's. The cross is not original. I repeat, the cross is not original I added a cross in a similar style to the center piece but it is only an approximation. I received the rosary without a cross. You may change the cross to something more appropriate if you wish. Condition: Overall the original pieces are in great condition. The ebony wood seems a little dry but this could be from age. This amazing Rosary is done in Ivory and Sterling Silver Beads. Created in the Byzantine style of rosaries used by monks of the San Juan de la Pena monastery. This Rosary necklace is an Antique sterling silver piece with amazing light blue almost tear drop shaped crystals. I'm not sure what this shape is called since I have never seen it before. It comes to a pointed tear drop at one end but the top is flat. They are faceted so they catch the light exquisitely. There's a total of 59 beads, see last pic with the date 1830 imprinted under the virgin. There is some normal wear from age, but once cleaned properly I'm sure it will look like new!
