Antique Brown & Mustard Decorated Redware Pitcher; 19th Century Folk Pottery old
Here's a beautiful. 19th century redware pitcher in very good condition! Thick, rugged, and heavy, this piece has an ovoid shape with a wide midsection. It has a gorgeous blend of colors including mustard, brown, and greens. The glaze& oxides were somehow applied in a manner where it didn't adhear in certain places and other parts were not glazed at all, including the bottom. In other areas the glaze is drizzled or running downward. When fired, interesting characteristics were created including mottling and a speckled effect. The unglazed red portions have an original, grungy patina that's the result of past use, places it was kept, and the passage of time. Oddly enough. There's some sort of slip decoration on the front, under the spout, that is difficult to discern. It probably was a name or some sort of writing and part ... moreof a date where a mistake was made and the entire piece was glazed over in this unique manner to cover it up. It looks like a capital letter C with a last name under it, followed by 1874 or 1879, perhaps. The way the piece was glazed as well as wear and tear makes it very difficult to make out. In fact, we didn't really notice the writing until after viewing one of the photos while posting this auction. It's an interesting peak into the history of this old pitcher and perhaps if you are skilled, you may be able to determine what it says under that glaze. Regardless. This is a very attractive piece of pottery that also has decorative incised bands, an applied handle, a charming country-style shape, and of course its very nice coloring. It measures 10 1/4 inches high while the diameter of the bottom is 4 1/8 inches. The opening of the pitcher is 5 1/4 inches including the spout and the widest point in the middle is 7 1/2 inches. It weighs over 4 pounds. We found no cracks or hairlines, only some old pitting on the interior that isn't structurally significant. There is surface wear and loss of glaze but nothing that detracts from its beauty. This piece is still even

ELSTERWERDA POTTERY- PITCHER & WASH BOWL - 1900 - 1918 - KATE 3 STAMP - WOW!
THIS AUCTION IS FOR ONE ANTIQUE PITCHER AND WASH BOWL SET ELSTERWERDA POTTERY THESE ITEMS ARE OVER 100 YEARS OLD! The small factory was founded in 1900 right between the arms of the rivers Pulsnitz and Black Elster by a Mr. Korsukewiez who over the years slowly but surely increased the capacity until he employed up to 200 people in the 1920's and 30's. Although some other sources claim that the factory had a peak of 400 workers during 1925. Many famous designers and sculptors worked at the factory, for example the designer Ursula Fesca who worked there between 1928 and 1931 or other well-known artists like Siegfried Möller. Grete Gottschalk and Franz Eggert. Next to normal household items the factory also produced ceramic clocks during the Art Deco period and one of the decoration styles used is a typical example for a combined ... moreairbrush and stencil technique used during the mid-thirties. Used between 1900 and around 1918. U. ='Uhr' clock) the number is a combo of mold and decoration. Check via the email; elsterwerda pottery. Then, PM&M page ELSTERWERDA It should be noted that next to the shown marks from the period between the two wars the factory also used either the word'ELSTERWERDA' in a circle or simply a stamped'Elsterwerda handgemalt' and in a large number of cases the items were left unmarked and only received a simple sticker. After the end of WWII some of the machines and kilns were disassembled and sent to the Soviet Union as part of the reparation agreement. Sadly that is also the time where the whole company archive went missing; it is believed that it was either destroyed or(more probably) taken away with the machinery. Also shortly after WWII the factory mark was replaced by a stamped' V.V.B. Elsterwerda' which was then used until the'V.V.B.based structure for grouping nationalized companies was slowly abandoned in the early to mid-1950s in favour of the linear' V.E.B. approach. Check the information for the logos below. Really a nice antique

Pottery Pitcher or Ewer Made in USA Raspberry colour No 808

Cracks or repairs It is ribbed on the top half and has a diamond pattern on the bottom half. Base is marked U.S.A. and the number 808. It was suggested by a friend that it is California Pottery but it is not marked such- certainly CP made similar pitchers but so did some other US pottery companies. I love the colour. It is very striking. Not the usual brown or green. I would think this is from the 1950s or maybe 1960s. HOUND HANDLE PITCHER PHILLIP BAGSTER ROCKINGHAM ENGLAND BENNINGTON POTTERY TOBY
Up for auction my oh-so-RARE c1818- 1823 ENGLISH PHILLIPS& BAGSTER? ROCKINGHAM RAISED RELIEF HOUND HANDLE STAG HUNT SCENE diminutive PITCHER. This is a wonderful and very old extremely rare small pitcher with a great look. The pitcher is a rare small size measuring just 3 3/4" to the top of the spout. This early raised relief hunt scene pitcher boasts a hound with collar handle. Several hounds on the pitcher body taking down a large stag and a grape clusters and vine decoration around the pitcher neck. Hound handled pitchers have been popular since the early 1800's. The earliest examples were made in England, and manufactured much later in the United States in Vermont, New Jersey and Ohio when the English potters came overseas to America, bringing their molds with them. The earlier English pieces had a Rockingham glaze over a ... morewhite clay body while the later American pieces were glazed over a yellowish or buff clay body. This particular pitcher is an early English version. As there are a couple tiny pin prick sized areas where the glaze is nicked in the interior(see photos) and the clay is a bright white. I believe this was made by Phillips and Bagster. As I have done a lot of research about this company. They often signed their pieces in the collars of the hound or boar. The hound on the handle does have a collar( most hound handled pitchers do not have collars) and I can see a couple very faint letters on one side of the collar. These are very difficult to see and are glazed over. So not very legible(see photo) I really cannot make out the individual letters, but I see two. The glazed underside is marked with some sort of leaf as well the faint impression of half a stamp.maybe an"M" or a"3" with a diamond shape and round shape(like you might see on old majolica pieces) with a faint"22" Not sure as the stamp is not very legible so I cannot quite decipher it. It is there though and the" leaf" mark is clearly legible. This diminutive pitcher does have some condit

Overall condition is very good with no chips or cracks. However as the pictures show there is some areas of heavier crazing to the glaze. Still a lovely piece for use& display. The hand enameled colors are beautiful. From the tip of the spout to the base rim the pitcher stands 7 3/4" tall. Buffalo Pottery Porcelain Wash Basin & Pitcher Antique Floral HP Transfer Signed
Buffalo Pottery Porcelain Wash Basin& Pitcher Buffalo Pottery Demi Porcelain Wash Basin And Pitcher Circa 1880 Pitcher Height: 11in Basin Dia 17in Each transfer decorated with pink and yellow roses green leaves gilt accents Marked at the base with a buffalo A beautiful antique Chamber set rescued from an estate of a wonderful woman who collected the most beautiful items in her life. Although the basin has survived over 100 years. It has several stress cracks that render it very fragile, but stunning on display nevertheless. Of course there is crazing! The pitcher is very near perfect except for a few flaws. But it is very stable to handle. Truly a conversation piece that should make you proud to show off. Over time, Buffalo Pottery products grew more popular than the soap so the same genius marketer who came up with the idea for the soap dish premium(Mr. Larkin) diversified his holdings and opened a pottery business. The Buffalo Pottery Company survived the requisite growing pains and never failed to produce the finest pottery in the northeast. Today, Buffalo Pottery pieces command a respectable price at auction and are eagerly sought by loyal collectors. It's easy to identify a Buffalo Pottery piece-and you don't have to turn the pottery over to look for the logo. Whether shaped into plates or pitchers. The olive green clay is so unique, nobody has been successful in achieving it's signature colorations. A typical finished piece might have a deep teal rim, then fade into a softer, muted teal and end with a khaki center. Rea was capable of producing blues that rivaled sapphires and greens inspired by emeralds. Classic fades to lighter colors on th

SHIPPING: We strive to provide the best and safest way to ship your items while maintaining the lowest shipping cost possible. We have a 5 star rating and most of our feedback relates to our shipping rates. Speedy delivery and shipping costs. Unfortunately like many things shipping rates have inflated the past few years, so to help cost we will always work out combined shipping and by using ... moreUPS priority mail we only charge for the box so if it fits in one box its one straight fee. Almost all packages ship out within 24 hours of payment, with most packages arriving 2-5 days after payment. For UPS shipping rates fluctuate by many factors, size, weight and distance. UPS also does not insure items unless you use at least 2in of packaging materials, so if you believe the shipping cost may be high this is because of the standards UPS enforces. For example, a doll that is 24inchs long may only weigh 6lbs but because it is 24in long it will require a box that is at least 28in long causing shipping to go from $15 to $20-25 for UPS to honor its insurance policy. If you have any concerns about shipping or any further questions please feel free to ask. International shipping: We only offer international shipping on items that can be sent either USPS first class or USPS priority mail and only what will fit into a priority box. Canada& Mexico Rates range from $14-$60 all other countries range from $25-$75, please contact before bidding to find out your shipping rate for your country. Antique Decorated Ovoid Redware Pitcher; 19th Century Mottled Folk Pottery old
This time we have an early piece of decorated redware pottery in very good. Well-preserved condition. Dating to the middle 19th Century, this lead glazed pitcher has beautiful coloring that was achieved through the use of oxides. It's primarilly green inside and out with mustard and orange colored mottling all over. On the interior, the green turns to mustard at the bottom third of the piece where the surface is worn from use. On the exterior, an area that varies from 3/4 inch to 2 inches from the bottom wasn't glazed, nor was the underside. The original red clay surface was left exposed and an old, grungy patina resulted from past use and the passage of time. Carved into the bottom are the initials"A.S. In addition, this old piece has whimsical, white-yellow floral decorations on opposite sides, adding even more folksy charm. ... moreThe exterior glaze shows wear and tear. Mostly surface scratches from coming in contact with other items. Also, there are a pair of contact marks where it was touching other pieces while being fired. As mentioned earlier, the interior has some loss of glaze but the clay surface is not eroded. Glaze was also worn off on the opening rim and the edges of the handle. There are only a couple of old chips on the rim, none elsewhere. While writing this description we noticed a 2 1/2" line in the back, under the handle, that looks like a very tight hairline. It doesn't appear to go all the way through to the interior and can't be felt when running a finger or fingernail across it. While we like to fully disclose all flaws to the best of our ability, these are really just indicators of heavy use and are helpful in authentication. Redware pottery was used for common, everyday purposes; it was not considered anything special. Surviving examples are often found with significant damage so this early pitcher was well cared for throughout its history. Heavier than it looks, this piece is solid, rugged, and structurally sound. It stands 10 inches tall and has a base diameter of 4

Small Antique Folk Art Pottery Creamer - Pitcher Earthenware Hand Painted Tulip
Hi. For sale a small antique redware pitcher or creamer. The pitcher is cream colored with hand painted brown slip glaze Pennsylvania Dutch Tulips. Leaves, dots and lines. There is a chip on the bottom rim painted band(see picture) There is some crazing and some paint is wearing off due to age. I took close up pictures to show the paint fading and crazing. Crazing is mostly on the top of the pitcher or creamer. You need to look close to see the crazing- there is also a few tiny pottery marks or holes from when it was made. There is a V or check mark on the bottom that has been incised in the pottery(see last picture) Not sure if that is an intial or a check. Thanks for looking and have a blessed day! I accept Pay-Pal or Echecks only and expect payment three days after the close of the auction. Please do not hesitate to email with any questions ... moreI will be happy to oblige. All returns accepted Buyer should contact me within 3 days after receiving the item. Refund given as money back. Return shipping will be paid by the buyer. Item should be returned within 14 days.
