Set of 2 Heavy Decorative Cast Iron Vintage Bank Vault Hinges- these weigh a little over 2 1/2 lbs. each! Acquired from a vintage collector in historic Angelica. NY. Please note on 4th picture that one of the hinges has a small hole in the metal. From bottom of base to the highest point of the hinge, it measures approx. 6" the widest part of the base is 2 1/2" wide; the diameter of the hole where the hinge itself went is approx. 5/8" in diameter; the diameter of the bolt holes in the base is approx. 7/16" If someone were to find a dowel or metal rod of the right diameter, this would make an wonderful rack or holder- there could be many wonderful uses of these historic, durable beautiful pieces! It most likely came from a boat or a building where space was at a premium and access between level/floors had to be kept to a minimum. The staircase os made of cast iron and has ten steps with wood treads. In addition to the center pole, there are ten vertical supports each with a gilt metal ball finial. The staircase measures overall 85-1/2"h with a maximum diameter of 32-1/4" Each step measures 16-1/4"w with an outside depth of 9-1/4" tapering to an inside depth of 1-1/8" The piece can still be used for its originally intended purpose. Here is an antique cast iron roof ornament called a snow bird. These snow birds were attached to the roof and prevented the snow from sliding off the roof and falling on people or objects below. Now some people hang them on the wall as a little shelf. The part that would act as the shelf is about 5 3/4 by 2 5/8 inches. The overall length of the entire piece is 9 1/2 inches. Here is a nice. Relatively compact cast iron hot water radiator that was removed from a home that dated from the 1920's; it was removed from a powder room. This is cast as one piece and is not sectional. There were no mounting brackets with it since they apparently used the plumbing pipes to support it. This has been pressure tested and shows no sign of leakage. This is an American Radiator aka'ARCO' Peerless' model. These were designed to be joined up with other'Peerless' units of the same size for more heating capability. According to the catalog. This should be adequate to heat an 8 to 10-foot square space. It has some flaky/loose paint(see pics) and the backside seems to have the original coat of paint on it. The bleeder is included. Though it will most likely need replacing. BEAUTIFUL AND LARGE! We are pleased to offer this matched pair of older vintage wrought and cast iron entry door/gates. The panels feature nice geometric wrought iron and incorporates cast iron. Very ornate bird of paradise pattern. The birds are detailed and their bodies flow into the lotus vines. There are lotus flower as well as rose bouquets. The gates have the handle and lock, but no keys. They are in very good condition with the expected aging from outdoor exposure. Very nice and ornate pair of superior quality.THEY ARE VERY HEAVY. Vintage Drapery Hardware Painted Cast Iron 40+ Pieces Victorian
Hi. You are bidding on a vintage lot of(Victorian? decorator drapery hardware. The pieces seem to be in very nice condition and would look great in a house. I will try to accurately describe the pieces as best as I can. But my drapery knowledge is limited. You are getting 5 shield shaped pieces with garland on each side. These pieces have a back clip which looks like it attached to a rod. One of these has a tiny bit of damage along one edge. There are two fleur de lis like shaped pieces with large brackets on the back which I assume are the tie backs. There are 11 fleur de lis like shaped pieces which are flat with a spade shaped bottom like it sat in something else or probably went into a flat rod. There are 9 brackets(L shaped) which are painted to match the other hardware. There are 20+ rounded rings which I guess carried the curtains ... morealong the rod. The lot is painted a very nice old red. Gold and some green. The brackets are painted to try and replicate the same style. Each cast iron piece is marked Pat App. The brackets are metal and not cast iron. But they match style nicely. This is a very interesting lot which surely is from the early 1900's. These pieces could be used as designed. Or repurposed for something else. This lot is very heavy. 12 pounds plus and each piece will be individually wrapped, so plan for 13+ pounds shipping weight.
