American celebration of Italian renaissance was mostly seen in architecture and furniture around the 3rd quarter of the 19th c. This piece came out of a place that had 18 foot ceilings. Size: 63.25" wide x 82" high and 11" deep. This piece has been restored to glory. Work around crest with plaster repair and newer ebonizing and fine gold highlights. Original mirror in place. Antique American Dovetailed Maple Shelf Plates Cups Dishes Display Original OOAK
defects. If present, will be noted. This listing is for the maple shelf that you can see in the photos. I bought it at a Pasadena estate sale a few months ago. I'm in awe of whoever made it because it's all dovetailed together. From the looks of it by hand and there aren't nails or glue, but it's as tight as can be and totally solid! There are several tiny nails actually that hold the top curvy piece on, but that's all, no other spot has nails.
