ANTIQUE MAJOLICA TUBE LINED PILKINGTON TILE ART NOUVEAU c1905
An antique tile made by Pilkington in c 1905. It is in shades of green and gold on a tan background. It is tube lined and the design is typical of its era. Looks like a Rennie MacIntosh design. It measures 6 inches square and is in reasonable order for its age. The photograph shows two orange patches. These are reflections and the tan colour is even over the tile. There is about seven pinhead white marks where the glaze has come away where the crazing has been(please see photograph) The back of the tile is rust stained, where it has been attached the a cast fireplace.

Three 18th Century Biblical English Delftware Tiles
Three 18th Century Biblical English Delftware Tiles Description Antique English Delftware Tiles from about 1730 and hand painted in manganese purple. The scene on these tin glazed tiles depicts Jesus carrying the Cross. An Angel with Roman and a person being served at a table I have not seen many of these types of designs around for sale. All the tiles have some damage(see below) All are 5” Tiles. The backs have plaster from a wall attached. The four outer corner motifs are early delicate variants of the oxhead motif and help date this tile to the 1690 to 1750 period. Biblical tiles from the late 1600s up to the mid-1700s are typical manganese purple and include many different Christian events and scenes. I have others for sale in my shop Tile 1(Jesus Carrying Cross) Top left hand corner broken and the edges being marked commensurate with ... morebeing use and age(nearly 300 years! Tile2(Angel) Bottom Right Hand Corner has Nibble and the edges are marked slightly commensurate with use and age. Vintage 24kt Solid Gold Mosaic tiles discovered in Hawaii. Lovely Mosaic Tiles confirmed tested 24KT Solid Gold on one side. Fused to crystal on the other side, hand cut into aprox 3/4" squares. The old boxes say"Made in Italy" A local Maui tile contractor remembers installing them. He states that they are vintage circa 1991. Overstock from the construction of the Grand Wailea Hotel in Maui. A Japanese business man spent over 900 million to build the most incredible hotel on Maui. They were used to decorate the main swimming pool. They were hand set in a Greek Key pattern. Elle Decor Magazine recently featured a custom home in Italy in which these gold tiles were photographed as one of the highlights. Due to the high cost of 24kt gold and the cost to hand cut. They are no longer manufactured. I have at least 170 Linear Feet ... moreof these 24kt solid gold tiles available for that unique and upscale installation. Estimated to cost is over 20.00 per tile if available for purchase in todays market. We are selling them per tile. The way they were set at the Grand Wailea is as follows: Each tile was set with the 24k gold side down in morter. They left a small space between each one to allow for the variance in thickness. Which is a slight + or- from the average thickness of 3/16" The crystal side up added more luminesence to the installtion. In my opinion, I think that they could be set without grout, as the morter could allow to make up the small differences in the tile thickness. It is however alot easier to set with a tiny grout line perhaps as small as 1/16" Also. I think they could be set with the gold side up as the gold has been fused to the crystal, But. In my opinion, they look better with the gold side down. Here is a white tile with brown art work from the Victorian Era(the close up photo is closest to the actual color) It has a large picture of an Iris and its buds and leaves. It is a 6" by 6" tile. Marked England on the back. There are also numbers on the back: 5050(in red) 0, and 91. There is a piece of paper taped on the back that gives this information: H. Richards 1902- 09. The dates 1902- 09 is also written in pencil on the back. The on damage that I can see is a chip on a petal of one of the side flowers. It is the one on the right as you look at the picture. Again, please look at the close up photo to see it. It blends in on the larger pictures, but it is there. Please look carefully at the photos for the best idea of condition and design. This would look so pretty framed or as a place to set hot pans. Truly elegant! This ... morewill not be sent in an envelope. This tile weighs almost 13 ounces(unpacked) I have been asked about the high shipping fee for expedited shipping and I know as a buyer. I get shocked by those prices, too. eBay is now"encouraging" sellers to put expedited shipping as a first choice. I try to have First Class as a second choice so it seems more manageable. I put a figure for weight to cover a range of weights because the boxes weigh so much and I might find a sturdier yet stronger box in which to pack the item after I list it, so my prices can't be absolute. Victorian art tile made by the Columbia Encaustic Tile Co. of Anderson.Indiana.Marked on the back. This tile measures 4-1/4" x 4-1/4" x 1/2" thick. Central flower with botanicals in a mint green and ochre glaze. Columbia tiles do not come up for sale very often and the"encaustic" part of their name may mean that that is what they primarily produced-unglazed encaustic tiles.This tile has a"hole" at the bottom right. It was a very dark spot that I ran underwater and it slowly dissolved and left this mark. No doubt a piece of organic material that made it's way onto the surface of the tileduring production and burned into the tile. A few other chips on the right side as seen in photos as well as a few edge indents that are factory done and glazed over. A scarce tile nonetheless! Blue and white pattern, off white background, measure 150mm square and are 9mm thick(6" x 3/8" The backs are machine marked and are stamped with the capital' H' This probably means they are no older than circa 1890/1900. All are complete i.e no corners missing etc. There are small amounts of grout to some of the edges which depending on future use will need to cleaned and some very small chips to some of the edges. English Victorian 6" Transfer Printed Tile, Calla Lily, Bamboo, Aesthetic Period
This is a very striking transfer printed and hand colored 6 inch ceramic tile. Presumably from the Victorian period. I can't figure out the English registry mark on the back, so I'm not sure of its age. It features a central image of calla lillies surrounded by a bamboo framework with other flowers and leaves around the edges. It is about three eighths of an inch thick. The tile is in good condition for its age. There are some fine scratches across the center as shown in the photos. Please contact me with any questions you might have.

This tile was made by the Minton China Works. Stoke on Trent around 1880. It is 8 inches square and has a blue and white pattern of bamboo stems and leaves.Both front and back of the tile are glazed. Has a 4 tile mural top. Possibly Taylor/ Malibu/ Catalina but you can be the judge. Will look great with anything from Stickley to ranch house/ rustic. The table top measures about 18 x 18 approx. Table is beautifully made, the ends are mortised/ dovetailed as you can see in our close ups, guaranteed old! The real deal! Good condition but has had some glue hear and there, overall very solid, grout has some wear, it is not perfect but about what you would expect for its age. No major blemishes or damage but the usual knicks, scratches, scuffs, a little white paint, etc. Will look great with your Roycroft copper or rustic wrought iron. Nice piece! This attractive Art Nouveau tile was made by Ollivant. Stoke on Trent around 1900. The moulded pattern is made to appear tube lined and is of 6 peaches with swirling leaves and stems. The tile is 6 inches square and has the embossed COV mark on the back. It is in good condition, there are some flecks of discoloration and a small chip on the left edge about 1 inch down from the corner. However, the overall appearance of the tile is good. SHIPPING.
