It is in a dark oak stain. Look at the photos to see all the carvings. When you open the interior, it reveals a multi-cubby hole and drawer. It has pull out supports to support the lid while you pay your bills. The overall size is 31 inches high to the drop-down lid, 32 inches wide, 18.5 inches deep and 41 inches high overall. The pull out writing surface measures 41 inches wide by 21 inches deep and height from the floor to the top of the writing surface measures 30 inches. The knee hole height of the desk portion measures 25 1/4 inches and knee-hole width measures 18 3/4 inches. The cylinder portion of this desk raises and lowers very smoothly and has a large brass lock mechanism on the bottom which is marked: Indianapolis Cab. Co Pat. The lock is intact but we do not have the key. The inner desk portion is beautiful maple with a multitude of various sizes of storage drawers and cubbies.The old green felt on the pull out writing surface appears original and does show some wear and some spots. The left offers a stack of four storage drawers with period dove-tailed ends and the original pulls. To the right another drawer is found with a storage cabinet below. The lock is missing from the cabinet door. As you can see in the pictures this desk could easily be in the center of a room for it is as lovely on the back as the front and is finished beautifully all the way around. This Victorian Eastlake cylinder roll desk circa 1880 is in fabulous antique condition. The desk comes with four raised panel dove tail drawers that retain all the original hardware. The center where the legs go have a reverse cove carving, which I have never seen in oak. It has a scallop bottom trim base, raised panels all the way around and a wide bevel edge on the solid tiger sawn oak top. The only negatives I see on the desk is that there is a little wear on the edge of the top from rubbing against something and there is a split going down the center of the top. We most likely could pull the top off and repair the top, which wouldn’t make a huge difference, but it is an expensive repair. The desk itself is high end quality.

Hi Everyone! This is an awesome antique Teakwood roll top desk made in Thailand. And shipped to the U.S. The desk is in excellent condition. The desk is hand carved with beautiful designs on it. I have inspected the desk and the only abnormality is that the front of one of one of the drawers has a crack on it. The crack is sealed, and will not cause you any trouble. I am listing this antique wooden lap desk in what appears to me to be a mahogany finish. It measures 11-1/2" x 8" x 4-1/2" Has a blue felt writing surface; compartments for stationary, stamps and pens with a removable cover(photo 7) two inkwell compartments although it only comes with one inkwell that is in great shape with no cracks or chips, and in the inkwell is a Bailey& Noyes pen nib extra fine(photo 8) The delicate brass key in a Quatrefoil pattern works well(photo 10) Left turn to lock, right turn to open. The bottom has the name L.E. Abbott written on it in pencil, and the initials are also in one of the desk flaps. Drop leaf desk has 4 ball and claw feet. Not just 2. Three large drawers with mini drawers inside the desk. I'm estimating that it is vintage 1940's or so when my grandparents would have bought it. 1800'S Antique slant top “schoolmasters” desk - primitive
This antique desk measures 24” x 32” Is 32 ½” high in front and 37 ½” in back. I was told it is English Pine but I am not an expert on that. It got it from Charles W. Eliot, III of the prominent Eliot family of Massachusetts, i.e. Charles William Eliot, President of Harvard, Samuel Atkins Eliot, Mayor of Boston, Charles Eliot(II) landscape architect of Boston's Public Park System. The desk had belonged to Charles W. Eliot III's grandmother and was referred to by his family as the"Schoolmaster‘s Desk" Charles is now 80 years old so I assume this desk is from the 1800's. As you can see in the photo there is a crack in the desk bottom.

Vintage Antique Solid Oak Navy Machinist's Standing Desk
This is an old solid oak standing desk workbench taken from off a Navy ship. It was used by a machinist. There is a center drawer that pulls out with a tightly woven heavy cotton cloth base that was used to catch the little parts as the machinist was repairing.whatever needed repair. Wooden Child's Desk, Antique, Primitive, Handmade, Three Chalkboards, Flip Top
For your consideration is this estate find that I have no history for. Or knowledge of, I just think it is super unique and interesting! This is a very primitive. But well-made, child-sized desk. It features TWO tops that flip up. And THREE chalkboards! There is an indentation on the back to hold chalk and pencils. The back board and the board across the front of the desk have been pressed with a scroll design that is lovely. The first top lifts up to reveal a chalk board on each surface. Then the second top lifts up to reveal yet another chalkboard and a storage area. I have attempted to show the double hinge. As well as the toggle that holds the crossed leg supports together. The entire desk has been painted black at some time. It is now somewhat chippy, but that only adds to its character. The desk is slightly wobbly. But in good condition ... moreotherwise! The desk measure: 19" wide x 13" deep x 22.5" tall(at the tallest part in the back) I don't know what else to write about this unique little desk. I can't find any markings on it. I am NOT an antique dealer. This beautiful desk has been in the family for at least 40 years. I have been told by an antique dealer that the desk is Chippendale style. Northern European, circa 1880-1900. Based on some old accounting books that are still in one of the drawers it was in Amsterdam in 1950. Most likely made of pine(which was most common during that period) Interior door front possibly made of birch wood. Lovely Oak Roll Top Desk with Oak Chair with leather upholstery. You can tell from the photos there are some scratches and wear on the leather seat of the chair. The cloth underneath the roll top part is starting to show signs of wear and could be developing a split on the left side. The desk comes apart into pieces for moving. Have owned for 25 years and used daily. Photos taken with and without flash to show off the warm oak colors. School desk& chairs cuter then what pictures shows: The desk has 3 slots for books etc. It is 66 in long, the top is 18 1/2 in wide x1/2 24 in tall. Nice heavy wood, not sure what. Each slot measures inside 15x8. Alot of cute carved in initails if you look real close. Some very faint. The small wood chair measures seat 11 x11 back 12 in tall total tall 25 in, the next wood& metal seat 12x13 back 11 in tall, total tall 23 in. Antique Wooden Lap Desk with Brass Writing Surface, Inkwell, Quill Pen Holder
Antique wooden lap desk. Measures 17.5" x 13.25" at the base and 6.5" tall at the tallest point. There is a brass sheet attached to the top to make a smoother writing surface. The inkwell and pen holder are also brass. As are the posts that hold the wooden railing at the top in place. There are also two brass reinforcements, one on each of the back corners. I am unsure of the exact age of this desk. Condition is as seen in the photos. Scratches and dings in the wood. The brass writing surface is bowed up on one side. The nail holding one side of the railing in place is a little loose. But the railing seems secure(see second to last photo) Both the inkwell and the pen holder can spin freely in place, but I believe this is how they were designed. The quill pen seems to have a modern ink cartridge installed in it, but the cartridge ... moreis dried up and rusted on the tip, so it does not write.
