The beads are not too small for older fingers. Just the perfect size. The Ave beads measure 6mm and the pater beads measure 8mm and have Lacey sterling bead caps. Both are made from beautiful authentic mother of pearl. 18 1/2 inches long. Chain and all metal parts are sterling silver. I have been told that the shell that this mother of pearl rosary was made from is no longer harvested because it is an endangered species. This rosary. Very nice and fine set of prayer beads. Known as a dizainier, set of ten beads and large cross, all hand smithed from the finest filigree silver. There is extraordinary intricacy in this piece, the workmanship is superb. These would have been owned by a very well to do person, a very high end item of its day. These are from the late Baroque period 1750-1800 and from Germany or Austria. Nothing missing, all beads present and in lovely condition. Introducing Rare Antique circa late 1800's Sterling Silver Creed Rosary in Pendant Box and Red Velvet Case The box holding the rosary is hand engraved on the front and is marked on the back: sterling. The rosary Cross is marked sterling as well. The outer case with a cross on top and with red velvet inlay is silverplate. This outer case measure: 2" by 1.4" by 1/2" h.
