It has dainty brass handle hardware which I am not sure are original. The keyhole escutcheon are the big round medallions. The candle shelves have heavy incise carved burl front shelf supports, burl walnut trim going up the mirror and the big crest on top with a doorbell looking medallion on the top. The mirror is bevel glass, which is normally straight glass. The drawers are all hand cut dove tail. The overall size is 48 inches wide, 21 inches deep and 90 inches high overall.

The carvings. Period details and burl walnut accents on this 19th century desk are just beautiful and this desk is definitely heirloom quality.a beautiful statement piece for your home! This fine desk measures 45 1/2 inches in height to the top of the gallery at the back.Height to the top at the front measures 46 inches, with a total width of 48 inches, total depth of 26 inches and this desk weighs approximately 200 lbs. The pull out writing surface measures 41 inches wide by 21 inches deep and height from the floor to the top of the writing surface measures 30 inches. The knee hole height of the desk portion measures 25 1/4 inches and knee-hole width measures 18 3/4 inches. The cylinder portion of this desk raises and lowers very smoothly and has a large brass lock mechanism on the bottom which is marked: Indianapolis Cab. Co Pat. The lock is intact but we do not have the key. The inner desk portion is beautiful maple with a multitude of various sizes of storage drawers and cubbies.The old green felt on the pull out writing surface appears original and does show some wear and some spots. The left offers a stack of four storage drawers with period dove-tailed ends and the original pulls. To the right another drawer is found with a storage cabinet below. The lock is missing from the cabinet door. As you can see in the pictures this desk could easily be in the center of a room for it is as lovely on the back as the front and is finished beautifully all the way around. BEAUTIFUL Empire 5 Drawer Dresser or Chest with Burl Walnut Veneer
Very nice Empire 5-drawer dresser or chest with burl walnut veneer. This piece is solid. Clean and tight. Drawers are made of single-board, poplar(the grain in some boards is curly) with hand-planed bottoms,and handmade dovetail joints, Each drawer has a pair of turned, solid wood knobs. Top pair of drawers are large and deep with beautifully crafted ogee faces. Drawers do not stick at all and operate smoothly. Overall dimensions of piece are 43 inches wide by 21-3/8 inches deep by 44-3/4 inches tall. There is a charred spot on the top where a kerosene lamp tipped over burned the wood. There are a few small knicks on the edge of the veneer and has been repaired on one drawer face(see photos) Local pick up only.

Being offered for sale is this splendid Victorian Eastlake Walnut& Burl walnut Drop Center Marble top dresser circa 1880. This lovely dresser offers beautiful period carvings. The original brass& ebony teardrop drawer pulls, pin& cove dove-tailing on the drawers and the original beveled edge marble tops. This 19th century dresser measures 83 inches(6 ft 11 inches) in total height from the floor to the very top of the carved crest. A width of 37 inches, and a total depth of 17 inches and this dresser weighs approximately 135 lbs. The height from the floor to the top of the marble at the sides measures 31 1/2 inches, and height from the floor to the marble at the center measures 22 1/2 inches. The mirror is a vintage replacement and in excellent condition and measures 31 1/4 inches high by 17 1/4 inches wide. My great grandmother. i should keep it but i have no where to put it, my house is full of antiques and all my bedroom sets are complete sets with dresser, wash stand, wardrobe, bed etc. it has been well cared for and is in near mint condition. it has great burl walnut on the drawer fronts. the top and sides are solid walnut. it has never been refinished as far as i know. the drawer pulls are wonderful. some of them were a bit loose and any that needed firming up i have reglued. it has the original brass casters with double wheels on each caster and moves very nicely. it has a nice gallery on the top. aunt beth can not find the key for the sidelock, but thinks she can. i do not have a great deal of confidence ... morethat she will. she is a bit absent minded these days it seems. all of the drawers function well and besides a missing key there are no other issues to report other than there are a few light water rings on the top along with a few small scratches none of which take away from the beauty and usefulness of this sidelock. i am 5 ft. 11 inches tall and can not see any of these issues while looking at the piece. i have to get on a step stool to see them. again they are not an issue just merely add patina to the piece. the top is pictured and doubtful anything is obvious enough to show up in the photos. i intend to remove the lock and have a new key made. it may be picked up at my home or shipped at the buyers expense. these sidelocks are hard to come by and demand a fairly high price. i am starting it at a figure 1500 less than one not as nice on ebay is listed for.

This gorgeous dresser features a large center dressing mirror with a beautifully carved crest over raised burl panels. On each side of the mirror are candle shelves with scrolled supports. White marble adorns the top. With the higher sections having cookie cutter corners. Four drawers, two small and two large on each side offer nice storage. Two larger can be found in the center. It’s in overall good condition, ... morewith only a lamination seam in the thin crown molded top. There are also some little worm holes from a long time ago on the soft wood on the back, and there is a little repair on the molding on the right hand bottom by the foot. It comes with its original key, and all seven of the locks seem to work. Remember, however, that we don’t ever guarantee these old locks to work, and they should be oiled, adjusted, and repaired. It has seven drawers, each standing for a day of the week, and it purposely doesn’t have handles and needs to be locked and unlocked with a key. It has a crown molded top, and handcut dovetails. Be sure to add me to your! This late 1800's SOLID WALNUT AND MARBLE TOP COMMODE has WALNUT BURL TRIM and ORIGINAL BRASS HARDWARE. It has one long drawer and two small ones. Beautiful walnut veneer adorns the middle of the door and three drawers. All drawers have deep dovetailing. In the late 1800's the commode provided the wash-up and refresh area. Behind the door area is room for the water pitcher. The matching basin or bowl. Soap dish, vase and other items were displayed on the marble top. The distinctive brass hardware is original. The heavy marble top lifts off and could be centered better than it is in this picture. The marble has several small filled holes near the back, where a splash-back piece would have been attached to the top. This commode is small and compact and provides good storage. It measures 35 X 17 inches and stands ... more31 inches high. It is on rollers and can be easily moved. The style is consistent with the period of"Renaissance Revival. Ca. 1860. They both have the original finish, wooden casters and working antique keys. These pieces feature Renaissance Revival/ Rococo elements including serpentine ribbed"carpenter's lace" on the edges and around the dresser's tilt mirror. They have applied hand carved drawer pulls. Escutcheons and other decorative elements in a leaf and flower design. The corners and edges are rounded. And the casings around the drawers and most edges are curved and double or triple ribbed. The dresser has a wishbone tilt mirror on pedestal ... morebase. Handkerchief drawers and three large drawers. There are turned finials on the mirror posts and spindles on the sides of the handkerchief drawers. The three large drawers lock. The chest has an upper cabinet with shelf. To the top center, this is 74" tall, the base is 40" tall to the top of the glove boxes, 40" wide and 19" front to back. AGAIN, THIS IS A VERY NICE AND WELL TAKEN CARE OF PIECE OF AMERICAN FURNITURE! The wishbone mirror frame, is 17" wide and 25 1/2" tall, this is not including the fancy cut out top. This mirror is removable. You just pick it up if you don't need it, and store it away. This mirror also, tilts in and out, and swivels side to side. The 2 glove box drawers, are 8" wide, 14" front to back, and 2 1/8" deep. Very nice. Unusual Victorian burl walnut lockside dresser with butlers desk. I haven't seen one with a desk in it like this one before. If there was an insert to the desk, it is long gone. It appears to have had some type of galley rail on it at one time. It has a small stain on the top and the key is missing(shouldn't be too hard to find one that fits it) Absolutely gorgeous.
