VINTAGE GLASS BEADED PURSE w/FLOWER & UNIQUE FIGURAL EMBOSSED SILVER LOOK FRAME
VINTAGE MULTI COLORED BEADED PURSE w/ORNATE EMBOSSED METAL FRAME This VINTAGE BEADED PURSE is decorated with a colorful floral design that is MUCH PRETTIER than my photos can show. The background bead color of the purse is black and the flower design framed in a royal blue beading. The flowers resemble either roses or poppy flowers to me. The purse has quite an ornate frame that is embossed with a design of scenery and 2 couples dancing with a pied piper playing a tune. This framing appears to be Sterling but I could find no mark to verify that. The chain on the purse though does have that'smell' that Sterling Silver has but still could find no metal markings. The inner lining feels like silk and I do see one of the creases does show some separation in the material but not really a hole and I think it could be easily stitched together. ... moreThe purse has no makers mark in it and keep in mind I am no expert in the field so PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS if you have them. From the clasp to the bottom of the purse it is 8 inches in length and at the widest point it is approximately 6 1/2 inches wide. I could find no label or marking in the purse so I can not accurately date it or know who made it but I do know that it came from a local Estate. I have done no cleaning on this piece but do notice dirt on the beads that if cleaned would sparkle even MORE! This purse is heavier than the other beaded purses that I have had in the past and may be stitched onto leather like Native American beaded items. THIS IS A TRUE BEAUTY! Antique Black Glass Beaded Drawstring Purse With Silver Chain
Satisfy your Dowton Abbey fantasies with this beautiful black beaded purse with silver drawstring chain closure. The chain appears to be silver although I have not tried to polish the metal. One filigree bead and one is missing. The soft mesh-like body of the bag is covered in a series of vertical stripes made up of strands of black glass beads. The lining is a muted purple silk hand stitched around the collar of the bag. There are a few loose threads and the inevitable losses. But the bag is in remarkably good condition, the beadwork pattern makes it difficult to notice any missing strands.
